Good Morning Ya'll!
I just finished getting caught up on the last thread.
Lime Green is the Official DIS Boards color...so a lime green suit with a pink shirt and tie would not be out of place! :thumbsup2
That just dawned on me, my new cell phone is lime green! Connor called it Tinkerbell Green, but I guess it could be DIS Green too.
Not sure what our plans are for today. Steve wants to get a haircut, I want him to change the air filters in the house. We didn't make it to Sam's Club last weekend, so maybe we can do that today. I printed a few coupons for Office Max....found on the budget board....they have a multi pack of clickable Sharpie markers for just $2. It was posted that this pack's original price is nearly $23! We can ALWAYS use sharpies! And since it's going to be nearly 45 degrees today, I took out hamburger patties to grill out and I've got cinnamon rolls in the oven for breakfast! YUM-O!
Oh gosh! a squirrel and a hawk just got into a fight in the tree line behind my house! It's too early for baby squirrels, no? That was a loud ruckas!!
Cinnamon Rolls are done! Have a good day!

My boys slept in, it's them dang dogs that get me up!
If you were just needing the tomatoes with chilies, you could have bought just a can of diced tomatoes and a can of green chilis...rotel might add some other seasonings in their diced tomatoes, but it's a start. OR if you can find just diced tomatoes with some sort of seasoning and then add a can of diced chilis....did you look in the mexican food section, just not where the other tomato products are?

I think it would be okay if you gave it an hour or 2 after you add the chilis so the flavors have time to meld together!
Have a great day!

Oh my gosh, 2 years with no snow shovelling! Man you got a good thing going there. I wouldn't tell to many folks about that. :rolleyes1 We or I should say I bought a snow blower 2 years ago (great investment), and Michelle said what are you wasting money on that for. It's obvious who shovels snow here. We live on a 1/2 acre lot where we get alot of snow. I've also been eye balling a ride'm tractor to cut grass, but she won't let me. It takes me about 2hours to cut grass here. If that's not bad enough once a week. I have to do it a second time every sat. morning at the cottage as well.

OK you obviously have a much bigger property than me LOL. My in laws cannot live without a snowblower but here we get a dumping 3 or 4 times a year and the rest is just a few inches here and there. I thought of a snowblower but for us a snow shovel is more than adequate

Good morning everyone!!!!!!!
Too much talk of being sick around here, I think I'm getting something now LOL.
And so much food talk, I'm dying!!!
No shortage of snow shoveling where I live! Couldn't do it without a snow blower. We got hammered in December, but haven't gotten too much since. March is supposed to be the snowiest month here though, and last yaer it was with a vengeance! We don't have a riding lawn mower, but a commericial walk behind. My dh used to take about 1 hour 45 minutes to mow (our yard is quite large), with this mower he's done in 25 minutes!
What's everyone doing this weekend? I need to do some major cleaning, staring with my office (I'm working hard at it, can't you tell??), I'm having a jewlery party in a couple week for a friend, so the house needs to look decent LOL.
Tomorrow Alexa and I are going to a dinner theater to see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. We have a table for 2, right in front/center of the stage.

OK I seriously hope this thins out a bit as it's cooking because it's really really thick. Nancy wants to make the beer bread so we have to go buy more stuff anyways. I'm gonna pick up more diced tomatos and tomato sauce, can always use it another time it the chili is looking good.

I'll tell you right now, smells darn good in here!!!!It will thin out after it starts to get hot. The heat brings the moisture out of everything. If you use beef, it will also bring some of the fat out as well. If it's not thin enough, just add another can of tomato sauce. Some people even add  water!! I don't add water, I use the sauce.

Thank goodness I don't mind it.
I hear you with the grass Bruce often times has to mow ours once a week. He just got a new John Deere tractor we have just under an acre in a half and it is so quick with the new mower..

I just mixed some garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper together and rubbed it on the pork loin roast... then did the same as the corned beef recipe on the web site, rubbed the brown sugar on it and added a 12 oz Guiness beer to it... covered and put in oven... 300 for three hours... it may take longer as the pork loin roast is rather thick. It certainly smells good in the house right now!

Hey y'all, we have a friend who has been a Mickey nut for years She has recently decided to redecorate her house and is dispensing with all of her Mickey stuff!! I can't believe it either!!! Anyway, she is giving away all her Mickey stuff. We have relieved her of her Christmas ornaments and a few other things. She has several framed pictures to give away. So DW took pictures of the pictures, and some other things and I have put them on my picturetrail (http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?uid=8121305) page. You pay the shipping, and it's yours! Not a bad deal, huh?? If you see something you want, let me know and we will decide on a coarse of action.

ok seriously everyone. My take on the chilli...I could eat it everyday. And there is enough left that I will eat it everyday for lunch next week! As for the beer bread...OMG! I don't understand why everyone wants to eat it for dinner because it reminds me of pound cake and should have maple syrop, fresh fruits and a side of vanilla ice cream. I can't wait to have another slice but with 2 bowls and 2 slices there is no room in my belly right now.
Thanks everyone....really thanks

Ok, got another question for you all....
Due to various issues (primarily Sean's health!) Brian and I have not had much chance to celebrate our anniversary which is right after Christmas. This year will be 27 yrs, so I thought it might be fun to surprise him with a bit of a celebration on the cruise. It will probably be the only chance we have to do much on our own anyway, knowing the boys will be OH so happy to stay at the clubs for hours on end...
Anyway, do you know if there is something special I could do? I figured we could do the REAS, but I was also thinking it might be fun to have a special cake delivered one night, and if its possible I thought maybe even bring my own cake topper...
We had a beautiful blown glass one for our wedding, but in all the moves we made earlier in our lives it broke beyond repair. Found another thought that is really pretty...
Thoughts? Ideas?
Thanks!

Hi all! we've had a good, but busy day! Went to see the St Jude Dream House they are building. It's still in the starting stages, so it's just frame right now, but it looks like it will be WONDERFUL. It sits at the end of a road, with a small cul-de-sac, at the back of the subdivision at the TOP of the hill. It will have beautiful views of the city and the countryside. We bought tickets for last years dream home, and I am assuming we will this year too. Then we went to AppleBee's for a late lunch and then to Home Depot for a few magic sliders. Then off to Sam's Club...can you say Cha-Ching? WHY does it always cost so much to go there?? But we are stocked up again! I got me an 8 pack of Rotel too! LOL I'm set for chili making! We got home, unload the truck and put all the Sam's away, then took the magic sliders to Connor's room and rearranged. His bed is very heavy, so the sliders helped a ton! then it was back down here to catch up on this thread!
Kristin, your bedroom furniture is so pretty! I was actually thinking that blue would be very pretty against that color wood, but you already have that! I would search out new linens and go from there, if you really want new linens.
Our wedding anniversary is Sept 12 and it will be 16 years...although, we have known each other since 1985 and have been together since 1986. He then went back to school for pharmacy and I waited the 5 years for him to finish. My Birthday will be Sept 21 and I will turn 41 then. Turning 40 didn't bother me, Colton turning 13 did!
I am glad you all liked the beer bread. It is a dense bread, but I could just eat it and nothing else! Let me know how it works as a dessert! That's sounds pretty good!

Shes great, I hate to say it outloud but I think she is fine now, it seems she got a mild case of it. Seh went in the backyard and played in the snow today, I think she was feeling stir crazy being kept indoors. I'm sure th efresh air did her well. Her spots are drying up and I don't see any new ones. Jacob still looks good, no symptoms. Fingers crossed that he doesn't get it in WDW. I started packing today, I can't wait, we are cringing our laptop so I will still check in once in awhile, 2 weeks of no DIS, you all would be on Chapter 4.

Ouch... sounds like the doc has left the issue of surgery in the future "open" at this time... I think mine is from a fall I took about 3 years ago... I don't know. How often do they change them? They just introduced this in January. I know others have received a beach towel, and would rather not have another, but we have never got one and would LOVE one! LOL I do love the bag though. Apparently, there is some sort of useless piece of rubber/plastic that is shaped like the ships stack. They say it's not one of those squishy-squeezy stress relieving thingies, it's not a water squirter, it's not a squeeky toy, it's not heavy enough for a paper weight...:confused3 Someone gave it to thier dog and it was destroyed!

Sean has a bunch of rods in his back and he doesn't set off the metal detectors either. I always carry a copy of his xray with me so I can show them. Maybe it is the kind of metal? His is mostly titanium, and some stainless steel (stents and port).
I remember when he was a little guy he had to be hooked up to his IV when we flew one day... security said I had to take his backpack off and send it through the machine, until I told them he was attached TO it and I could not unhook it. Shoulda seen the look on their faces! LOL!
