Hi everyone-
My son Gavin is turning 1 in April (19th) and we are planning a Priate and Princess birthday party for him. Does anyone have any cheap and easy menu ideas that would go with the theme?

Thank you, Jenny

We did a pirate party for my sons 4th bday. (not sure about princess stuff though)

We had Walk the Plank Chicken Planks
Hot dogs with paper sails made out of white paper and skewers
Goldfish
Gold nugget corn on the cob
and peg leg baby carrots

here is a site with some pirate party ideas

they have some info on a princess party as well if you scroll to the bottom of the page, it is on the right hand side of the page

You can probably get good cupcake decorations - I know there is a barbie set with sparkly pink glitter which is suitably princessy! Just decorate half with piratey stuff and half with girly things. Or for pirates chocolate buttercream with fork marks to look like planks

You could make a birthday cake in the shape of a treasure chest- Bake a cake in a loaf tin, cut the top inch or so off (Leaving it on a slight hinge) and fill the gap with chocolate coins (Pirates gold!) and then ice accordingly!

As for Princesses, cupcakes with pink sprinkles and jelly hearts go down a treat!

Savoury things.... Sandwiches held together with mini plastic swords (These can be bought at most places that sell party things), and fish shaped corn snacks (Most supermarkets) would be quite affordable and piratey!

(Can you tell I used to host kids birthday parties??! Lol!)
