Ok, so, I am going to WDW in August
My nana said I can pick any hotel to stay at.
At first I picked the GF for because its so elegant
Then I look online at pictures of the Poly. Its so nice!
They are both so nice in different ways
Opinions please:yay:

I say the Polynesian. It's really laid back and relaxing.
I'd (personally) feel sort of uncomfortable at the GF. Feeling like I'd have to be all prim and proper at all times.
Just my opinion.

My favorite hotel is the GF I've stayed there before on the Concerige level and it's SO NICE. The pool is awesome and the hotel is in a great location! It's my favorite.
I've also stayed at the Poly, it's nice but I like the GF the best.
Good luck!

The Polynesian is stunning, casual, and fun all rolled together.
There's always something to do and it's got a very Disney vibe going.
I'm not a big fan of the GF myself.

Poly! It's chill.

GF! It's lovely. But if you can pick any hotel, I say Yacht Club. I think the boardwalk area is the nicest to stay on property. The area is beautiful, plus all the hotels are walking distance to Epcot and Disney Studios. And the Yacht Club is absolutely gorgeous. And whoever said everyone at the GF is snobby? So not true.

Never stayed at either, but I've visited and dined at both.
I'd say GF. I love the whole victorian theme. And make sure to book an Afternoon Tea at the Garden View Lounge.
I don't like the Poly... at all. It smells musty in the lobby and to me just looks SO 70's, inside and out. And the pool is really small, and from what I've seen, is always packed. I think it's a prime spot for pool hoppers.
But if you possibly can, I'd say try getting Wilderness Lodge concierge. It's so unbelievably great. And WL is my fave resort :goodvibes . Yacht Club is also great and really elegant.

Well, I don't really know. But when I was there I just felt uncomfortable because everyone acted so snobbish and preppy.

Yeah, I guess. I stayed there for a week though, and I didn't feel out of place. And by no means am I rich. I think the atmosphere does it give it a snobbish illusion, but it's really just your average Disney hotel.

I don't feel out of place when I'm there... and I'm in no way rich. But I'd still pick WL concierge over a regular room at GF anyday, simply because I like the look of WL better.

Like I said, I never actually stayed there. I visited, and just got that feeling from the decore and CM's/guests.
When I went to the Poly, I felt the opposite. Everything was laid back and relaxing. And all the CM's and guests were really friendly. I also liked the decore better.
Just personal preference.

GF is by far my favorite hotel.
To me it is the epitome of Disney. Ive never felt out of place, and everyone is so nice.
The views are incredible, and the decour is very bright and happy.

I really liked them both, but I was a huge fan of the Grand Floridian. Never did any of the fancy tea party stuff, I just liked it. Really pretty.
If you want my opinion, though, the Beach/Yacht Clubs are the best. So amazing.

Personally, I thought the polynesian wasn't as pretty as the Grand Floridian. It had a brady bunch vibe, and there wasn't a lot of people around.
The Grand Floridian always had people around, and ALL of the staff was extremely nice. They'd drive by on their themed golf carts and wave at you :wave2: like so. The rooms are beautiful and the beds/pillows are fantastic :). It was clean, which was very good too.
My fiance didn't like the smell of the shampoo, but you're going to get the same in both hotels.

I would say the Poly. I haven't stayed at the GF but I think the Poly is awesome!

I'd go for the GF, because I'm completely obsessed with VIctorian times so I would be in HEAVEN.
and I would love pretending to be snobby & rich :goodvibes
Poly is a good choice too though, the pool is amazzzzinggggg!!! + They have Ohanas!!

Poly is THE resort my family stays at. We've stayed there twice. We've tried Fort Wilderness, but it wasn't our style.
It's laid back, it's beautiful, I just love everything about it. The lobby is beautiful, and everywhere there are beautiful statues of dolphins and such. I love the beach, I love walking around, I just adore the place.
Personally, I don't like GF. It seems too clean and... I dunno.. it's just not somewhere I'd stay at Disney. I'd stay there if I was going to some random place, but not Disney.

I haven't stayed at either but I have been to both (if that makes sense to you guys). I LOVE the GF. I always get a french manicure and pedicure at their spa. =]

First off, can you share your nana?!:rotfl: :rotfl:
Secondly
I would choose the polly if you like,
Swimming- It has a really nice pool
The Hawaiian Theme- It's everywhere and done very nicely. They even have a nightly luau
Good food- Tonga Toast is legendary (I haven't got the chance to try it yet though...)
I would choose the GF if you like,
Shopping- There seem to be alot more stores than usual here
Turn down service- With a chocolate on your pillow
Oprah-:rotfl: Not kidding, it's supposed to be her fav place to stay at WDW
They both have the monorail, great views of MK, nice atmosphere, character meals, beaches, you name it, they prolly both got it!
Personally though, I'd go with the Polly.:thumbsup2

Not only are they on the monorail, I believe both of them have boat services to MK. And the Poly is only a 4 minute walk to the TTC, which is quicker than getting on the monorail to the TTC and then hopping on the Epcot monorail.

Ahaha, that's funny.
The only place I find it's impossible to get to and from, is DTD. I don't know if it's like that at every resort, but I remember waiting forever to get to DTD from the Poly.

Yeah, that's pretty much every resort, except for Port Orleans Riverside, they have a water shuttle while everyone else is stranded at the bus stop....

I remember being stranded at OKW xD
We went to DTD, and then decided to check out a couple of hotels and we tried OKW first.
And we waited forever, alone (like seriously the resort was dead that day) for like ever for a bus to come.
We were Disney amateurs back then though.

Never stayed at either.
But GF looks gorgeous. Their decor is way my style. But it might be too high class for my WDW vacation.
Poly also looks nice. Everything looks so fun there.

My mom got married at the poly and we had dinner at GF.
Poly is better, in my opinion, but you'll never be treated better than when you get out of the back of a limo at the GF. People are falling all over themselves to get you whatever you want. ;) (and no, I wasn't with my mom when this happened)
