Hello,
anyone out there cruisin' the Wonder on 1/22/2009? We just booked a land and sea. We did the Magic back in 9/2004 was supposed to be a 7 day but due to Hurrican Jeanne it was turned into a 5 day-still had a great time but missed Castaway Cay and we are looking forward to seeing it this time! Staying at Poly before sailing. Any fellow resort guests or cruisers give me a holler!:hippie:

glad to "sea" that you found me! where are you staying at Disney? we are doing the Poly-first time there. we are surprising the kids for Xmas with the WDW trip then on the last day when they think we are heading back to the snow and cold of OHIO we are surprising them again with the cruise! We had so much fun on the Magic (despite Hurricane Jeanne trying to ruin everything!) Disney still tried to make the Magic happen. I was bound and determined to get back on one of her ships! You will love it! Do you know what cabin you are in yet? I hope more people find us so we can try to get this going. we had a nice one for my first cruise. It was nice especially when all the plans got changed around (left on monday instead of Saturday-left out of port everglade instead of canaveral) we ended up hotel hoping for 3 nights with people we met on these boards and got most of our info from others from the boards as well! hope to be talking soon.

Hi Cruisers-
We will be on this cruise!!! We are doing the land & sea package and we were originally scheduled for the the last week in January, but due to school schedules, we've moved it up a week. It is me, my DH, and DD's 12 & 8. This will be our third cruise and we'll be staying at Saratoga Springs, and I can't wait. I always loved Disney, but after doing our first cruise, I've become a Disneyholic. I just can't get enough!

We have a big bunch cruising with us this go around both old friends and new friends!:grouphug:
The group consist of:
Me - Maria - 33 - this will be my 8th Disney Cruise!!
DH - Isaac - 33 - this will be his 5th Disney Cruise!
DF - Jason - 31 - this will be his 2nd Disney Cruise!
DF - Eleanor - 27 - this will be her 2nd Disney Cruise!
DF - Jon - 22 - not sure how many cruises
DF - Max - 22
DF - Tony - 24 - 3rd Disney Cruise
DF - Joe - Tony's friend
Isaac, Jason, Eleanor and I went on our first cruise together February 2008 to celebrate Eleanor and Isaac's birthday. Jason and Eleanor fell in love :lovestruc with cruising and Disney Cruising Line!! They can't wait to go back!!:yay:
We will be celebrating Eleanor's Birthday - the day we board - Jan 22 -:cake: and Isaac's birthday - Jan 27 on this cruise - lots of fun! :drinking1 :drinking1 party: :bday:
Jon, Max, and Tony are new friends that Ashley and I met on our cruise in September who loved that cruise so much that they booked this one with us!! :cheer2: :cool1: We will definately be closing down Route 66 every single night of this cruise! :woohoo:
So, we are all very much looking forward to this sailing - only 15 weeks and 2 days left to go now!! It's kind of bad to wish time to pass so quickly, but hopefully with Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's to keep us entertained between now and then, it will go fast!

My wife (Chris) and I (Scott) booked this cruise today for our 15th anniversary. It will be our 4th Disney Cruise but our first without the children. Has anyone else been on a Disney Cruise without their children? Did you feel guilty?
We are looking forward to staying up late, sleeping in, and having a good adult time.
We look forward to meeting our fellow cruisers!!

Glad to see our thread is starting to get some more activity:cool1: .
Maelcu - My 8 year old DD will be on this cruise, so maybe we could have the girls meet or email each other ahead of time.
Dinnysuw - maybe we could do the same for my 12 year old DD, once your kids find out the good news  !!
If you're doing the World before or after....where is everyone staying? We're doing the land and sea package and for the first time since we started cruising they offered Saratoga Springs as an option, so we're going to try it.

Hi All
binks-My DD is so happy that there will be another 8 yr old girl -hahahahah like there are not going to be any kids on the ship hahaha-
We are still trying to figure out what we are doing before the cruise LOL, we are thinking about driving and just spreading it out of a couple of days.
We haven't been back on the Wonder since 2005 I can't stand the wait :rotfl: DD is handling it better than me.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hi all-we are going on the 22-25th also. We had two DD who will be 9 and 5 at sailing, but don't know we are going. But are shy at first, and I'm glad to see others with kids around this age who are looking to make friends! I just read about FE, am new to the board (for cruising) this is our first disney cruise. Can someone explain FE and would anyone like to do it?
Thanks so much!
This was a spur of the moment decision. I sat at the computer, and booked.
YIKES I CAN'T WAIT:yay: :woohoo:

Binks-I'm from VA, with 2 girls, wondering if we can start an FE "group" on our trip. Are you interested? It sounds like so much fun! I'd love to get some people to do this. I know it's more popular on longer trips, but I think we could still have fun. What do you say? Anyone else?

P.S. My girls are 9 and 5.

okay you ladies...(we're usually the planners, no?) I am going to keep harrassing you guys until we've got a group of people who are interested in getting their kids together. Myself included, we've got a couple of "surprise cruisers", so maybe we could meet sometime before the kids activities get going. Anyone been on the wonder before where we could meet? I'm completely fine with coordinating, just need some intel.
By the way, can you tell I"m excited????????????????????????????????????

Hi all !!
Hope everyone had a great turkey day.
When we cruised the wonder back in 2005 we had a DIS meet on deck 9 way off to the side of the mickey pool....that was a bit much it was loud and very crazy LOL my vote would be deck 10 between the stacks port side -when everyone gets there maybe then figure where we would like to move to or not??
I think the idea of an FE would be great we would be in on one.
Did everyone get their palo ressies? We also booked the stingray feeding on Castaway.

hooray! Now we at least have an exchange! I'm guessing it will be a small-ish group (who knows?). Now I have to make an FE (and 3 Christmas quilts, also...maybe the FE will have to wait until after Christmas! Maelcu, how many kids, ages etc. in your group? We are four altogether, 2 girls 5 and 9 and me and husband. What state are you from? We're from Virginia. This is our first Disney cruise. We've been on 2 other cruises, but one was childless, and the other when my husband returned from being deployed for 6 mos. We were stationed in Hawaii and so we did a Hawaiian cruise for cheap! We went to WDW last year, and my 5 year old asks every day when we are going back. This was a spur of the moment decision and they won't know (hopefully) until the night before, if i can keep my yammer shut!
So glad you posted! Nicole:woohoo:

We tried two other cruise lines but there is nothing like Disney!
I thought about not telling Amy about the cruise but I couldn't stop myself LOL

Count us in for the FE group. That would be great if we could meet the first day and have the kids meet as well as the grown ups. We should all have someone to play with :goodvibes ! I probably stated this earlier, but we are
Katie - 12
Edie (not Eddie) - 8
Mom - old
Dad - older

yes! I am so excited about an FE exchange, it's literally all I've been thinking about. :cool1: I don't know how I'm going to keep this from my girls. The 8 year old keeps catching me online, and I know she is reading over my shoulder!

Hi Clori-an FE actually stands for a Fish Extender which is a hanging thing that you put outside your door to get "fish mail". However, if you get a group thing happening, like here, you can organize an "exchange" so that your kids (and/or you) get little gifties put in their FE during the cruise. My girls (9 and 5) would love this, so I really want to organize one.
I think we're up to 4 families.
If you look for threads about FE's or door magnents you'll come across it. The search engine never works for me, I just have to troll the boards at night when all are sleeping!
woot! another possible FE'er!

Hello Fellow Disney Wonder Guests!!
I, along with several friends, will be on this cruise!
I hope to see everyone on board, and hope everyone will attend KRAZY KARAOKE at Wavebands after the Pirate Deck Party! It's promising to be a VERY funny one! Come one, come all, drink plenty! =)

We'll join. Any ideas on how to make a fish extender without spending $30 or so to get one on ebay. I'm not that crafty. Just so I understand sometime before the cruise we get a list of kids/room numbers and 3 sets of small gifts (one per night?) to put in each fish extender. Is there a maximum money amount per gift? I don't have internet access after Jan 14th so need to finalize by then.

No idea on the FE. Never have done one, sowwie.
Is there a DIS meet setup yet?

12-07-2008, 04:47 PM
Hi-I've never done an FE or a DIS cruise, but I sooooo want us to do one. I've offered to organize, so if someone wants to give me some info on that, I'll read it!
Anyway, inexpensive FE's. I saw some posts where people got tote bags at the craft store and kind of made a ladder out of them with ribbon and maybe some dowels. The FE link's are long, but if you scroll through, you can see some pics. I would NEVER spend that much money on e bay.
I have no idea how much money we're going to be spending, but from what I can see, it's little things that make an FE fun. Plus the fact that you are leaving them outside of someone's cabin, in a hallway, where tons of people are walking by. Not everyone is as friendly as the people on this board.
I also don't know if we get paired with a certain family or if we exchange for everyone.
So, I have a lot to learn too!
I was seriously thinking of finding really cheap pre made placemats, sewing (or gluing) them into a pocket and finding a way to hang them together. I'll post if I come up with anything. I do sew, but I don't have a ton of time and my girls have no idea about this trip, and I"d hate myself if THAT was what did it and not my big mouth!
Welcome!
Hope this is helpful!;)

FE use really varies....from just a few cabins to literally over 100 cabins. It really is fun.
Shopping ideas--check out dollar stores, after holiday sales, etc. After Halloween you can get pirate stuff (tattoos, etc). Also stuff that comes in multi-packs are good--pencils, note pads, highliters (good for Navigators!), etc. as is anything Disney related!
Other great ideas--small candies or munchies, things related to the ports you are visiting, etc.
I grabbed that from another post. I am going to go down as "there' that crazy *** woman who made us do FE" from this cruise. In this thread, on the main page right now, are some awesome pics and ideas and ways to get motivated. Potholders as FE's???
If someone knows how to cut and move or direct people to that link from over here, would you please share????:wizard:

We are now taking our kids with us on this cruise. They had soooo much fun on the first one that we would feel guilty if we didn't take them.
About 5 families from our church are now going. They have heard us rave about how much fun it was and how the kids enjoyed themselves. We should really have a good time with everyone. Hope to see everyone soon on the cruise.

We just booked yesterday! We have 3 children, but are only taking our 2 oldest girls-6 and 9. When the promotion came out, we decided to go for it. We never thought we would be able to afford it and we haven't really been considering it, but we just couldn't pass it up! We decided we would do this for an anniversary trip. We will be celebrating 12 years. Anyway, we are thrilled and will be telling our girls on Christmas. I feel so far behind and im excited to get to start planning! I would love to be a part of the FE group!

Hi everyone! I'm totally jumping in here and volunteering to organize the FE for the 22 Wonder cruise. Does anyone want to co-organize and co-ordinate with me? (I'm nice!) Anway, I thought I'd start info gathering and getting some feedback from you all.
If you are interested in participating in FE:
1. How many people would be doing the exchange from your group:
2. Ages and sex for each:
3. Is your cruise a surprise?
4. What is your current cabin number, numbers?
5. Would you prefer an all out everyone exchanges with each other(option A) or would you prefer to be matched (I'll try) with a similar group and just exchange back and forth (option B)
6. Depending on the answer to question 5, will we need to set a dollar limit? (my own personal thought is that, people will give what they can, original home-made things are great, personalized things are great, and expensive things might "grow legs" and walk away.)
7. What did I miss????
8. I think we can all have fun with the FE, not just the "kids". We're all kids anyway, right????
Thank you all!
You can PM me with this info, so it's not out there for everyone to see or just throw it on this link.
Thanks! I also expect that I'll be hearing a lot more AFTER the Holidays....I'll try not to hound you all too much before then.:yay:

Hey all!
Just booked our cruise! This is a first cruise for us and a surprise for our boys. We are going to BCV for the week after with our friends so we thought we'd take advantage of the current deal.
I'd love to be apart of the FE group - we don't have our stateroom # yet so I think I'll have to call DU on Monday to see if we can find it out - right now it just says "guaranteed"
"niciggy" I'll PM you when I get it and start shopping for treats. Sounds like fun!

Hi mickeywho? Welcome to the group! Don't fret yet about getting info to me. It seems like I'll get alot of responses after Christmas. I'm just trying to get an idea what people want to do. So far, it seems like most people want to exchange with another family (rather than everyone, kind of overwhelming) and also I'm going to "try" to pair up the families by similar kid ages and sexes. So, if you had two kids, you'd get a family with two kids (I hope) We'll see how it goes. So far, I've only heard from a few people. However, if you have boys, it'd be easier to guess what would be a hit for boys. I have girls, so I know exactly what my girls would like.:goodvibes I've just been thinking of them if I see a dollar store and go in.

My wife and I will be bringing our little 1 year old daughter on this cruise.
We have taken two cruises before we had our daughter, and this will be the first one for our little Madeline.
We decided on a 3-day to test the waters (hehe) and see how she does.
Hopefully you will not figure out which cabin is ours by the crying.

I wish I could but this cruise is a SURPRISE for my kids! They know we are going to Disney (we're staying for a week after the cruise with some friends at the Beach Club) but they have no idea we will be there a few days before to head off on a cruise! Maybe we could meet up at port or when we first board and they could get to know each other then. He's a pretty easy going kid and always up for new friends.
Still no cabin # assigned to us...the suspense is killing me!

Nicole, thanks for the offer but I know I would completely screw up and not have my stuff ready or forget it and leave it at home. I am a mess about stuff like that.
Mickeywho? - might work. Our cruise was going to be a surprise too but we kept screwing up and mentioning only spending 5 days at Disney and we decided to just tell them as a Christmas present. My DS is pretty easy going so they should be ok meeting on the ship or before boarding.
The suspense is killing me about our room too, just checked and nothing yet. My DH thought he was being funny earlier and told me DCL called and said they did not have room for us. I told him that would be ok with me as long as they put me on a 7 day in a balcony instead.

We went in 2008 from Jan 31-Feb 3. It was BEAUTIFUL weather. I hope that we get lucky again! The FE sounds like great fun. If I would have logged on to this thread earlier, I'd be interested, but I am back to work on Monday and everything will be extremely busy until the day we leave. Thanks for organizing it though.

We will be driving to the port and parking there but not really sure what to expect for that yet. Like where and when we pay (when we drop off? Pick up? Is it cash only or will credit card do?)
We will be staying at the BWV at WDW for 4 days before. Less than 2 weeks - can't wait!! :cool1: :cool1:

Hello All!
I am so excited to be embarking on my 16th voyage on DCL and my 15th on the Disney Wonder with such an amazing group!
I wanted to remind everyone of some exciting things that happen just for the ADULTS!!
First Night of the Cruise - MATCH YOUR MATE! :lovestruc
This is an amazing event not to be missed. For those who have not seen it, it's DCL's version of the Newlywed Game. Except in DCL's version, the as for a newlywed couple, the longest married couple in room (ya know the ones that have been married so long it's now a life sentence :lmao: ), and then someone in the room married in between. Trust this is a great show that pushes the Disney boundaries of pixie dust and you learn alot about your fellow cruisers!!
Second Night of the Cruise - KRAZY KARAOKE!
After the pirate: party, put the kids in the clubs and head down to Wavebands for a KRAZY time. Everyone that gets up and sings usually gets a shot (it's how it has been in the past). Some come on down and get your drink on and if you are so inclined, your sing on. =)~
Of course, after both events there is a dance party and normally the dancers from the WD Theater make a guest appearance.
And no, I don't work for DCL! I just love the cruises and have spoken with so many people who I have told about 'the night before' on the ship and said they didn't know about it. It is such an amazing time for all and the more people that come, the better. So, let's turn Wavebands into the DIS Lounge!!
Bring yourself, Bring a friend, knock on random cabins and bring them too! =)
Oh yeah, and another plus to going... the HOSTESS with the MOSTESS... the one and only Miss Tisa is a hoot!!! And of course, the one and only, direct from NYC, DJ Frankie!
So as Mickey Mouse would say.... 'See ya REAL soon!'
Kevin
PS: Be sure to check out the Navigator in case they have to change the time/location/or something else. =)~~
Standard disclaimer...... NOTHING in this post is guaranteed! LOL

We did the autotrain once before and really liked it. The train leaves at 4:00pm and you get to have snacks, eat a sit down dinner, watch a movie, get some sleep and 9:30am the train pulls into Sanford. And you have your car! :yay:

Malecu posted this:When we cruised the wonder back in 2005 we had a DIS meet on deck 9 way off to the side of the mickey pool....that was a bit much it was loud and very crazy LOL my vote would be deck 10 between the stacks port side -when everyone gets there maybe then figure where we would like to move to or not??
Anyone else have any ideas? I'm wondering if we should do this immediately following the safety drill? Port side is the left side of the boat facing the front, correct?
Please, please, please chime in if you have alternate ideas and/or times. If you want to PM me, please do, or just post here. When I get all the "matches" together, I'll send you all a detailed PM with your info.
Hopefully, I don't screw it all up! (I know, I just ooze confidence!) I find that I am not able to concentrate at work because I am so excited!!!!!!:dance3:

The last cruise we were on, they tried to meet near the drink station, near the pools, which as stated, was not a good idea.
I like the idea of deck 10.

I think no matter where we have the meet maybe we should plan for 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm-ish. After muster everybody will be heading to the sail away party.
At our meet we had lime green mickey head paint chips from home depot so that we all would know who we were. I have some left over from the last cruise I will pin one on my lanyard with my dis name on it.
If anyone is interested here is a link to our cruise pics from feb 2005

We would like to meet everyone. I agree with maelcu - if you wait until after muster, a lot of people won't make it with the sail away party and dinner times and this gives you time to make plans for the party if you click with another family/person.
On the subject of locations another bad idea is the arcade - unless you want to spend money on the kids - made that mistake in the past ;) . The Promenade lounge on the 3rd floor is another option (I am not going to jinx us by saying why we might want to be indoors  )
binks - I just asked my DH to look at the Autotrain last night but we decided to stick with our drive down plan. We are used to it so it is not to bad for us but I will be thinking (only a little jealously:laughing: ) about you sleeping on the train while we are driving down in the middle of the night. :car:

Looking forward to meeting you! Below, please find the matches; there is one group of three who are doing a triangle exchange:
Malecu (dd8) is exchanging with Binks (dd's 8 & 12) who is exchanging with Clori (dd's 8 & 4) who goes back to exchanging with Malecu (dd 8). (This is the confusing one, think triangle)
MickeyWho? (ds's 11 & 7) is exchanging with Bouge (ds 9, dd7, dd7).
Grumpy&Princess ( dd 1) is exchanging with Amber1(ds2 , dd4)
Niciggy (dd's 5 & 9) is exchanging with Kaymak (dd's 6 & 9).

I think that when we meet on deck ten we can exchange room numbers. I know that some people still do not have them, and we have one family pending, waiting to see if another swapper comes in! I'll have nametags and a sheet for everyone to take around and mark down names and room numbers, it will be a great way to say hello. (I'm the type of person that NEEDS a nametag, and a way through an introduction!) How does this sound?

Tomorrow I'll break down a count of mom's, dad's, boys and girls. We have 9 (maybe ten) groups. There are a ton of ways to make an FE, the easiest I have seen is that someone just hung a tote bag over the "fish". I made a fabric sleeve with pockets. I read a thread where someone used fabric glue and staples, so I think anything goes. The ones that are posted on the FE threads...are impressive to say the least. I think they actually sell them to others. Mine is in between.
I have a packing "pile". I'm surprised my girls haven't caught on yet (it's still a surprise). It's freezing here in Virginia and I have a bag in plain sight with sunscreen and goggles on the floor!
I wish it was here NOW!

The PLAN is just to haul them out of bed and tell them we're taking Dad to the airport for business (our flight is at 7 a.m.) This is a usual occurrence in our house. Then when we get there, I'm going to say, "let's go in and see that dad gets on the plane." After that, I'm not sure. My husband's grandparents are in Florida for most of the winter, so we've thought about saying, "surprise! we're going to visit gram and gramp for the weekend!" and then, the "big reveal" will be us getting onto the DCL bus. The 5 year old still won't have a clue, but the 9 year old will be out of her MIND!
However, I have a large mouth and very little capacity for keeping secrets. So, we'll see. I'm amazed I've lasted this long. However, every day I find myself starting to say..."when we're on the cruise, we can..." and I have to bite my tongue.

Hi all-someone asked for the "breakdown" of our FE group: Here goes (I think)
daughters- 13
sons-4
moms-9
dads-9
If you notice a glaring mistake here, let me know. For example, I think all our groups are traditional two parents. I could be totally wrong. I didn't NOTICE any single moms or dads or grandma and mom and daughter etc.
We have an additional family who is on "standby". Their board name is Stewy. They have 2 boys. I'm planning on giving them something small at the meet and greet because they want to come to that and at least MEET everyone. If we get anyone else who would like to do this, we could give them something once per day. (no no no pressure!) :grouphug:
If you look above you can find the age ranges. The oldest girl is 12, the oldest boy is 11. The youngest girl is 1 and the youngest boy is 2. All the rest fall somewhere between 4 and 9.
Also, if you PM me with your cabin numbers, could you also include ACTUAL first names in your party? I'm thinking of making nametags and that would help me a TON. Thanks-Nicole :cheer2:

Hi all!
Sorry I'm so late to the thread. We booked last minute and I just got around to checking to see if there would be anyone on this cruise. We were on the WB REPO Cruise in May and I had the joy of making an FE for our cabin. I had big plans for sewing an FE but in the end I used iron on fabric adhesive. I think it came out great. So it can be done and it only took about 2hours. Our group will be myself my DW Alice and our 26y/o dd. We look forward to meeting all of you dis'ers. See you soon.

There seems to be some confusion here. The swap was set up so that you got a match to swap with. One family to one family. I think that some of you might have a little something for everyone, which is fine. It's also fine if you just bought stuff for your swap families. Remember that this is for FUN, no STRESS, and whatever everyone does will be great! Of course, continue to post or PM me with any questions and i'll try to answer them!

The plan is - I take the kids down to the bakery for breakfast and head to the pool after for a swim. DH takes care of the luggage (I'm not even unpacking - just reorganizing so it'll be cruise ready) and checks us out. He'll meet up with us when he's done. Then we talk about outing "ideas" . Our friends are meeting us on Sunday (we're all staying at BCV for the week) so we've told the kids no parks until then. Then we'll head off to the bus - chatting up maybe going into Orlando shopping for the day etc. (They just LOVE outlet shopping ;) )
Then the bus will pull up and we'll get on. I'm guessing the 11 year old will freak out :woohoo: as soon as he sees the bus. The 7 year old may need more hinting. And then lots of excited explanations - he's been working on a project about a certain sunken cruise ship in school - so we'll be assuring him that there are no iceburgs in the Bahamas! His reaction could go either way - wish us luck there! :scared:

My daughte (surprise trip) came home saying a friend of hers went on a cruise to Greece for Christmas and the ship hit something and they had to get in the lifeboats and lost all their luggage! Now, this is my drama queen daughter, and I said, wow, well it can't have been that bad it would have been on t.v. and she said IT WAS ON T.V.! Oh boy, we're going to be doing a lot of explaining....I'm hoping she gets caught up in the excitement of it all and the only "upset" time for her will be the safety drill.

This is going to be the looooooongest week of my life! :headache: However, I am going to clean this house like it's never been cleaned before!:laundy: I have waaaay too much energy going on. Last night I actually dreamt that I was IN LINE at the port and I didn't have all my documents with me and they were letting my whole family board without me! I'm talking, pleading, saying, "but I'm the one who has all the plans, they can't do it without me!" Talk about trip ego. I actually had to get out of bed, wash my face, and have a drink of water. My heart was pounding. It's ridiculous!

For those of you that like adult beverages please make sure to come to the meet on Thursday....my husband is a liquor rep -Absolut, Malibu rums, Jim Beam, Kahlua just to name a very very few...we are bring goodies with us. Make sure to stop by and pick up a little something.
Man, even I can't beat that one. All I'm offering are cabin #'s, nametags, and a big "HI!"
By the time that we're finally there, I might be knocking back anything you have! This from the "one drink wonder." I was a VERY cheap date. Now, I'm even worse!
Wow, liquor rep. I've known a Pepsi rep and going to his house was like actually visiting beverage candyland!:rotfl:
We had to tell 9 year old. She just doesn't know when it's happening. My NEIGHBOR asked her, so...are you excited about the disney cruise? If I had a gun...:scared1:

She thinks we would NEVER take her out of school...boy is she wrong! However she is crying today, because her dad didn't win Hannah Montana tickets in the Pentagon lottery (she's playing at the inauguration) He got one ticket. ONE! I told him he better have a goood time. Of course, he's not going, but she is M.A.D., At least now, I don't have to shut down the computer every time she walks by!:surfweb:

maelcu - is your husband's company hiring? That sounds like a great job for my DH (at least I would get a benefit from it:drinking1). My DH was not going to come to the meet and greet and then he saw your post and thinks it might be fun now. In his defense, the last one we went to was awful  so I can understand why he was worried.
See you all soon!!

Yeah! One week from today, we'll be sailing away! It is freezing today in Michigan! I hope we have nice weather. We went the last week in January last year and the weather was FANTASTIC. They said that the week before was cold though. Hopefully we luck out. Anything will be better than here. :) Positive thoughts! :woohoo:

niciggy - don't worry, the last time it was more the dynamics of the group. I think this group will be fine.
maelcu - all I can picture is a bunch of little airline sized bottles in a suitcase and the look on securities face as it is going through the machine. :rotfl2: I don't know if they are the little ones but it struck me how odd it would look it you had a bunch of them in a suitcase. :rotfl: At least when it is in big bottles security doesn't really know how much or what you are drinking.

So where is this Global warming?
Even down here in Florida it is getting cold. It got in the 40's and people were freaking out. Today on my way into work, I loved seeing all the people bundled up in coats when it was in the 50's. :rotfl:
But the cold front is already on its way out, so we should have warmer weather for next week :beach:
We are leaving Tuesday doing a mini-land and sea vacation.

last night was a record setter. One whole hour of sleep. I was mentally packing all night.
I got all worked up when I realized that my black pants which I MUST HAVE did not fit (ouch)
I guess I was mentally rolodexing all my alternatives (none)
So, got a replacement pair today.
I'll either be relieved or comatose by the time Wed. night rolls around:hourglass

Nicole! You really need a vacation!
I can't believe I'm not in a panic. I think I've actually began to figure things out for this trip.
Fish extender - made one in an hour yesterday. closet pocket organizer plus duct tape plus stickers and voila!
FE gifts all set.
Put all our clothes aside for the trip - laundry all caught up.
Few things left to do
Magnets for door, bring up luggage from the basement and scale back on the amount of the clothes we have to pack:rolleyes: , go over packing list and put aside all the things that make these trips easier like a powerstrip, check documents are all ready. Clean the house - we have our neighbour, lets call her "Bree" ie desperate housewives, watching the house for us and I'm sure she'll take a little look around while she feeds the fish ;) . Absent letter for the school and check-in for our flights.
I'm not working this week so I've got Sun-Mon-Tues to get ready! I can't wait to get out of this cold - it's freezing here! We head to Buffalo Wednesday morning! Yippee!:cool1:

Yikes! Hope you get better fast! Someone getting sick is always my greatest fear before a vacation. Well, that was until our ceiling in the kitchen started leaking today. Now, I have another thing to worry about. Hopefully my husband fixed it. We have had so much snow here.
I did a ton of packing today! I just printed all of our cruise documents, flight schedule, directions, car rental, hotel info, etc. . . I also e-mailed neighbors, put a hold on the paper and mail, and typed out directions for our dog sitting friends. I had all of the wash done yesterday, but my husband and the kids went camping with some other dads and kids this weekend (not in a tent!) and I have been trying to catch up ALL DAY. I'm exhausted. Unfortunately, I DO have to go to work Monday-Wednesday, but that's okay. It's hard for me to miss and I have a bunch of stuff to do so that I can miss Thursday and Friday. See you on Thursday! Can't wait!:cool1:

The weather before the cruise is looking cold, but the day of the cruise and forward is looking mid-70s.
We were going to head up to Disney Tuesday night, and spend Wednesday in the park. But with HI of 53, and LOW of 33, we changed our plans and are driving up Wednesday.

I NEVER imagined the last few days being like this. Laundry, packing and document checking in a Nyquil haze! I'm nowhere near organized, but I'm like that: better under pressure.
I'm leaning towards more pants than shorts for myself. But I have only nighttime clothes for the ship...
I don't know what I was thinking of. I'm apparently going to breakfast in my robe! (well, if I ordered in I guess I could!)
Now, to see...do I have ANY shorts that fit????
We are finally going to get snow I think tonight. Just an inch. So, if you're driving down, you at least have to get through Virginia to get out of the snow.
No school tomorrow here in D.C. for the inauguration, so I can do errands then...
looooong day of work on wed. then whew...we're off!

Okay, I will NOT have lime green mickey heads with me for the meet. I'll try to be noticeable however. I tried to go to Home Depot today and the police had CLOSED the parking lot because it was JAMMED with overflow from the metro station from people trying to get into D.C. for the inauguration! We are the farthest station away from the city and it was packed! Otherwise, it was a ghost town as I did my other errands. (I was actually worrying about taking all the lime green mickey heads anyway) Also, my door signs did not get laminated....
I heard that the business owners in that plaza were fuming because no customers could get in...and people had filled the lot up by 5 a.m.
It was a historic day, I had goosebumps watching it on t.v.
For everyone who is driving down, rest a lot on the way, drink, stay alert, and be safe!
See you all on the boat!

Just had to share about a funny thing that happened to us today, we hopped on the monorail to go to the Magic Kingdom after lunch and we got to talking with 2 couples in our "cab" and not only did their sister live kind of near us but they are getting on the cruise on Thursday. It is a small world sometimes. I did not get a chance to ask them if they are on the disboards but hope to run into them on the ship.
See everyone in 2 days. :cool1: :cheer2: :cool1:
