O.K. Kids. Here is Thread #3 of the BOB threads.

As usual, I'll be back here to update this post periodically. I will try to keep important information up here for all to reference as well as for all our new friends who come to cruise with us. If something of importants comes up, PM me and I will add the link.

We have dubbed this cruise "The Bash on the Boat" because so many people are celebrating birthdays or anniversaries on this cruise. You will also see "KK2" in the title. As you will read, many of us just sailed together on the 10/20/07 Western Cruise. So, with many of us returning here, we are dubbing this KK2. For those of you who didn't sail with us, please don't feel that you are not part of the group. We are a very open and welcoming/friendly bunch. We had such a great cruise last time, but feel it will be even better this time. Come along and enjoy the fun. We will get off-topic many times over the next 2 years, but it is a great way to get to know everyone.

First, here is the list of Characters:

arielhead = Tanya and DH with their DD (will be 14) and DS (will be 9). West Virginia.
B9erSteve = Steve and Laura. They will be traveling with their DS and DD. California.
CarrianneB = Carrianne and Rob with their 2 DS who will be 7 and 9. Wisconsin.
Cheryl N. WI = Cheryl and Al with their DD who will be 15. Wisconsin.
cntkg1 = Nancy and Chuck (a.k.a. Charlie Tuna). Wisconsin.
Disgrits = Paige and Rob. Virginia.
DISNEYDUET = Shelley and Woody. Virginia.
Dyerneeds/Tart Annihilator = Mike and Robin. Ohio.
goofyfreak = Lori and Scott with their 3 kids (also extended family). Virginia.
GOS = Heather and Rick. England.
hockeychic = Kim and her DD who will be 17. Canada.
JLDSMD = that is me, Jeff. I'm traveling with my wife, Suz and our DS who will be 9. Wisconsin.
Karen Mouse = Karen and Neil and their DS who will also be 9. England.
medicalman = Sean and Cath with their DD. England.
millerpjm = Jen and Pete with their DS who will be 6. Wisconsin.
minnieandmickey = Becky and Sean. California.
Oybolshoi = Brenda and Jason. Missouri.
ST Cruisers = Tony and Stacy. Wisconsin.
Team Fun Pants = Kristin and Jesse. Wisconsin.
Timon/Darkrobe = Cass and Rob. Canada.
tinkerbellmom1 = Sheri and Pat with 2 DS (17 & 15 at time of sailing). Nevada.
Walt & Di = Walt and Di (pretty easy to remember that one). Texas.
Verandah Man = Andy (a DIS board legend) and Hazel. New Jersey.

I will try to update that list as we go. If I forgot anyone or if you want different info posted, please PM me. I will NOT be putting room numbers up on this post.

A good place to start for planning this trip would be Cass' website. She has done a great job to organize almost everything you'll need for this cruise and posting here on the BOB board. Here is the link to her site: http://www.cassworld.ca/bobers.htm

Here are links to posts that we found important through this and the previous 2 threads.

No races this time. It is that time of the year when I can't spend a lot of time on the DIS. Come mid-April and I will take you on then. :worship:

Hi everyone, I just stumbled across your cruise meet (or as it appears at times, cruise meat). We will be sailing with you.

My name is Jeff and I will be sailing with my DW Suz and our DS who will be 9 at the time we cruise.

Looking forward to getting to know all you nice people over the next 20 months.

I was picking up my paycheck this morning just as my boss' secretary was heading home, she believes she was coming down with the flu.

I saw on The Weather Channel that the flu is widespread in every state but Florida.

You didn't miss much, but I think Karen (maybe it was someone else) put a quick summary up on Monday I believe it was. If you go back a few pages on the old thread, you'll find it.

Congrats on the 1000th post.
I just ordered our passes yesterday. We got the 2 year all parks pass this time since we are going to Orlando in May. We plan on going to seaworld, the new seaworld waterpark and busch gardens tampa. That pass will get us in to all of those. We will definitely be in williamsburg on the 16th. Hope to meet up with you all there.:thumbsup2

Lori I'll be looking forward to hearing what you think of the new Sea World waterpark. It looks awesome on their website and we're thinking about going to it if it's warm enough when we are in Orlando at Christmas time

How much did you get yesterday? We didn't get much. They totally blew the last two forecasts, didn't they.

We got lucky, the plow came through yesterday and plowed the tow big piles at the end of the drive into the ditch. Now I can see down the road from the end of the drive.

We only got about 2 inches except for some drifting along the side of the drive where it was deeper. We have a major ice build up in front of our driveway on the road but so does everyone else in our subdivision. I thought we weren't supposed to get much Thur. night/Fri.

Yeah, so much for global warming.

They said this is the most snow cover in about 40 years in North America. It was also the largest temperature change in one year - and it was a decline. The global temp went down more in the last year than than it went up in the past 100.

This winter reminds me of the ones we had when I was a kid.

Even though we didn't get much yesterday it was enough to make the roads very icy in spots for the ride in to work yesterday. I saw 4 different cars that had "rolled" into the ditch. It kind of freaks you out when you see that and then you realize you are driving on ice too but I made it OK.

Hey everyone on thread #3!
I can't believe I lurked earlier today and checked tonight and already 8 pages and my sister has several posts. I will have to try to keep up better this thread.

Only two new things with me. I quit caffeine cold turkey on Sat. (slept most of the day). I think I am still having withdrawal symptoms. I read that it can take 9 days for a real addict. I am in the muscle soreness stage now.

This may be TMI but I have drunk Mt. Dew for breakfast for the last twenty years - started in college! I have also had Dr. Pepper at sometime during the day for probably thirty years! I hope I can keep going with this. Supposed to help with weight loss and health and I'm tired of keeping the stuff around.

The bad thing is my BIL learned that he has liver cancer today. We are hoping it is early enough, but we know liver is bad.

I didn't know that muscle soreness was a side effect so I guess I didn't pay attention. But I was also exercising so I would have blamed it on that.
Get rid of that DP tomorrow. Take it to school and put it in the teachers lounge for everyone else to drink.

I see I just missed seeing the thread close by a little while:rolleyes:

My light may have been left on, but I was tucked up in bed reading my Dr Phil book. I think Neil was on the pc and just hadnt shut it down.

Rose - no, we dont have a cat :scared: - I "stole" the image from someone else - when I print it I'll just cut the cat off:rotfl: - Neil is actually badly allergic to cts - his eyes go bulgy and red if he goes near one.

Wow...11 pages to catch up on and 4 from the last thread. What the h*ll we're you guys on last night???:lmao: We had a power cut in our street last night, so I couldn't join you for the farewell to thread #2.

It was weird, I was doing my exercises, when the who house goes dark and quiet...really eerie!

Hey if everyone that will be in DL on Aug. 15 or 16th want to meet up for a dinner meet, Sean and I are game.

That would be great Becky...anything to try and stay awake. We'll still be on UK time, so excuse the yawns!:lmao:

Jeff - I don't think we get into LAX until about 3.00pm, so by the time we clear customs and find our taxi (we're trying to book something through Prontocars), I don't think we will be at the hotel until about 5.00pm. So an evening meet in Downtown would be great. Is Sean joining us? Chris said something about them meeting up?

Only two new things with me. I quit caffeine cold turkey on Sat. (slept most of the day). I think I am still having withdrawal symptoms. I read that it can take 9 days for a real addict. I am in the muscle soreness stage now.
I'm tired of keeping the stuff around.

Are you getting dreadful headaches? I am a real tea-a-holic and when I switched to decaf I had a headache for days:headache:

Hello ladies ... this post is for you. I'm going to do something way beyond the realm of goofiness on the cruise and I wondered if anyone wanted to join me.

I'm going to pick out a tiarra from Arrabis Brothers the next time we're at WDW and I'm going to bring it on the cruise and wear it on formal and semi-formal nights. :lmao:

It's not every day that a woman turns 4-0 and I think it should be celebrated in style. :thumbsup2

I like that idea! Princess Bendy and her royal court!

I'd love to be a princess: on the cruise....but I've got early dinner seating!

I'm hurt ... just because I'm high maintenance doesn't mean I don't know how to have a good time. :rotfl:

If we set up a martini tasting we could always pose for a casual tiara picture as a group then. That would be a hoot!

And who needs a tiara to be a princess anyway? princess:

Okaaaaaaay, I've had way to much coffee this morning. I'm going back to my job (boo!).

Me too Benda - I'm early too.

I had Lasik surgery and still wear glasses! Where does that leave me??:lmao:

A new husband??:confused3 :goodvibes

Will it look funny if I wear a tiarra with my jeans and t-shirt on formal night?:woohoo:

I'm loving the tiara idea! princess: princess: princess: But I'm a little weird, anyway!

It's not Arrabis brothers, but those of us not going to WDW before the cruise can shop for our tiaras here:

http://www.tiaratown.com/

And Nancy, I think a tiara goes with anything!

This thread has become shockingly risque and it's not even 11AM. :scared1:

And it isn't even 9:00 in the UK either. Not even 5:00 yet.

I forgot, you're close to retirement too Andy.

See Chris, government employees are the only ones that retire at 55.

Needs to get me a job with Uncle Sam I think.

So who is going to wear the "Rodeo Queen" one?

The next worse one would be any of those with a saying in them.

Nah, just trying to grab some lunch and THAW out. The windchill is still briskly cold at 9* above zero. I was reading many curb meters this morning, let me tell you, the ground is very :cold: Some of the lids were froze shut and I had to bang on the lids to get them open........

After 31 years in 2010 of doing this job, I deserve to be able to retire......;) ;) ;)

Thanks for the link, Jen! My MIL actually has one from a wedding she was in decades ago and offered to let me borrow it for the cruise, but I'd be terrified that something would happen to it. I'm just going to pick one up before the cruise - they had some cool ones at Arrabis Bros. in Epcot that were only about $45.

O.K. Andy, we'll let you retire.

Hope you warm up a bit before going back out. It isn't too bad here today. I haven't watched the weather in a while, so I have no idea what it is suppose to be or if anything is coming.

To be honest, I'd love to do the whole long gown, gloves, tiara look for formal night, but I'd be too chicken to go it alone...princess:

I always "glam" it up on formal night (semi-formal, too). I don't usually do the gloves but the last two cruises I wore a long gown and went to the spa and had my hair styled. I even asked Jason to wear a tux. It was fun and we got some great pictures.

If we hit 58* we would have massive flooding right now. There is so much snow and ice, it would have nowhere to run.

Although, I'd welcome temps like that.

March is here soon. We should start warming up.

Suz went to the spa before formal night on our first cruise.

DS asked her what she did to her hair? Guess that was $45 wasted. :rotfl2:

Actually she looked really good. I'll have to see if I can scan a picture from that night.

I think I might do a longer, more formal gown this time around. I had a very pretty dress for last time, but I think I want to do a gown. I may not get Pete in a tux though, will have to settle for the black suit. The photo we had taken for formal night was really nice....

Good for her! I'd love to see the picture. I love to have my hair done on the cruise because it's not something I'd ever have done in the "real" world. It just makes us ladies feel a little more special. :goodvibes

Go for it! If enough cruisers want to glam it up a bit we can always try to get everyone together for a picture in between dinner seatings.

That's how she was. It is something that she doesn't normally do and if you did have it done before cruising, you'd never get it the same that night. I think her appt was at 4:00 or 4:30 that night. Something you ladies may want to keep in mind when making spa appointments. :thumbsup2

Talking about the spa facilities, did anyone use them on the last cruise. We had a look round them and they looked fantastic but didnt have the time to book any treatments. Would love any recommendation from anyone who has used them.:woohoo:

Don't forget gourmand :rotfl: Images of you and Jason with an extra 50 lbs come to mind, lazing about in togas feeding grapes to each other :lmao: :rotfl2:

So I went out to dinner last night at Chili's and I sat down and ordered an iced tea....the waiter proceeded to tell me that since it's a U.S. chain that they only have brewed tea, not "real" iced tea

Umm hello, you are an American chain in CANADA!!!!!!! You should have my iced tea! :headache: I can't even find my iced tea in Canada in Epcot, why should I get that brewed stuff up here  :lmao:

Then I saw the movie Fool's Gold and they were in Key West and talking about shopping and it reminded me that I never got to get my sandals at Kino's :sad2:

Then I woke up this morning to 6 inches of snow

I'm just waiting for my dogs to pee in my shoes or something :rolleyes1

So, have you had any nightmares about that little guy yet?

How are you with clowns?

Andy, since Cass is the resident graphics person, we can't ask her to do it, so would you be able to blow :joker: up to life size so we can put it on magnetic paper? We can then keep putting him up on her door on the cruise. :lmao:

Umm me no likey clowns. I didn't care for them much when I was a kid and THEN I saw the movie Poltergeist and REALLY hated them after that. They are creepy looking! I will never swim in the Boardwalk pool either, that clown slide is scary :lmao:

And what was that Stephen King novel they made into a movie with the scary clown?? It? I can't remember, but it creeped me out too
