Well, since my plans got shot down for a Florida escape in March during the kid's Spring Break, Hazel and I are going to try again to get-away to Florida for a few days in May while Angelina is on her band/choir trip to Chicago. I got us some good fares on Southwest for $79 each way.

We will drop Angelina off at the high school at 5am, then we will be heading to the airport around 9am. We are due back in the same day as Angelina, we get in at 3pm, and Angelina is due back at the school at 10:30pm that night.

Hazel and I will fly in and out of Philly, the band/choir trip goes to Newark, NJ for their flights.

Hey, 5 days away, is better than no days away!!! :thumbsup2

A man is dining in a fancy restaurant and there is a gorgeous redhead sitting at the next table. He has been checking her out since he sat down, but lacks the nerve to talk with her.

Suddenly she sneezes, and her glass eye comes flying out of its socket toward the man.

He reflexively reaches out, grabs it out of the air, and hands it back.

"Oh my, I am so sorry, " the woman says as she pops her eye back in place.

"Let me buy your dinner to make it up to you," she says.

They enjoy a wonderful dinner together, and afterwards they go to the theatre followed by drinks. They talk, they laugh, she shares her deepest dreams and he shares his. She listens.

After paying for everything, she asks him if he would like to come to her place for a nightcap and stay for breakfast.

They have a wonderful, wonderful time.

The next morning, she cooks a gourmet meal with all the trimmings. The guy is amazed. Everything had been SO incredible!

"You know, "he said, "you are the perfect woman. Are you this nice to every guy you meet? "

"No, "she replies. . . "

"You just happened to catch my eye."

Now that's bad....

First, thanks to all of you who continue to ask about my dad and Spencer.

My dad is coming home on Saturday! :yay: The nursing home decided that there is nothing further they can do for him and that he has improved enough to come home!!   (And the fact that Medicare won't pay for him to be there anymore). :goodvibes Chuck and Tony are going to set everything up for him tonight. Hospital bed, additional railings for the basement stairs, & walker ramp outside. He is so excited to finally come home. He never thought he'd ever see his house again. Now we just have to get him to move from that lousy neighborhood they live in.

Spencer is also going home on March 11th. :yay: He still has a few problems from the brain injuries but again, Medicade is done paying his way too. He will be on permanent disability too. He has come such a long way and looks so much better. He lost 65 pounds after the accident and put 70 back on since Christmas!! He never wants to ride motorcycle again. The outline of his body is still on the street where the accident happened. They must have used paint instead of chalk. He also said he will NEVER drive past that spot...ever!! He will live with his mom at an apartment (she moved out of her house because of the recent attack/burglary) until July and will move with her to Arizona then.

Thanks again for all your pm's everyone, the thoughts, prayers, and dust stuff and for all of you who contributed to the making of his cd's. He absolutely loved them all. :lovestruc

:grouphug: :grouphug: From us to all of you! :grouphug: :grouphug:

Nancy Excellent news about your Dad and Spencer :yay: :yay: So glad to hear they are both doing better. :grouphug: :grouphug:

HEY!! AFEG ...this blind woman just sent you a love note! :cutie:

I wsa reading everyone's posts last night about vision getting wonky as you get older ... here's my gripe:

I've been wearing glasses since I was 7 years old - I'm so nearsighted that I'm a minor celebrity whenever I go into the opthalmologist's office for my annual eye exam. The technicians all want to sit in on my exam ... last month one actually said, "I've never met anyone as young as you with a minus 13 prescription."

Gee, thanks.

Anyway, what I've started noticing is now I can't see fine print up close. And since I work with financial statements and things of that nature all day it's been very frustrating. So now they tell me that in addition to being a super-nearsighted freak I'm also becomnig far-sighted and may need to add bi-focals to my prescription soon. :scared:

It already costs more than $600 to get my lenses made ... can you imagine what would happen if I had to add the bifocal to that? :headache:

Getting old totally sucks!

Edited to add:

Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl
With yellow feathers in her hair and a dress cut down to there
She would merengue and do the cha-cha
And while she tried to be a star, Tony always tended bar
Across a crowded floor, they worked from 8 till 4
They were young and they had each other
Who could ask for more?

At the Copa (CO!), Copacabana (Copacabana)
The hottest spot north of Havana (here)
At the Copa (CO!), Copacabana
Music and passion were always the fashion
At the Copa....they fell in love

(Copa Copacabana)

His name was Rico, he wore a diamond
He was escorted to his chair, he saw Lola dancin' there
And when she finished, he called her over
But Rico went a bit too far, Tony sailed across the bar
And then the punches flew and chairs were smashed in two
There was blood and a single gun shot
But just who shot who?

At the Copa (CO!), Copacabana (Copacabana)
The hottest spot north of Havana (here)
At the Copa (CO!), Copacabana
Music and passion were always the fashion
At the Copa....she lost her love

(Copa. . Copacabana)

(Ahh ahh ahh ahh Copa Copacabana)
(Talking Havana have a banana)
(Music and passion...always the fash--shun)

Her name is Lola, she was a showgirl
But that was 30 years ago, when they used to have a show
Now it's a disco, but not for Lola
Still in the dress she used to wear, faded feathers in her hair
She sits there so refined, and drinks herself half-blind
She lost her youth and she lost her Tony
Now she's lost her mind!

At the Copa (CO!), Copacabana (Copacabana)
The hottest spot north of Havana (here)

Ok Chris here's one for you

For all of you in education, with sons, grandsons, or who just love the things little kids say ~ a reminder that adult words are often taken literally.....

"Circumcised"

(this is priceless!)

A teacher noticed that a little boy at the back of the class was squirming around, scratching his crotch, and not paying attention.

She went back to find out what was going on.

He was quite embarrassed and whispered that he had just recently been circumcised and he was quite itchy.

The teacher told him to go down to the principal's office.

He was to telephone his mother and ask her what he should do about it. He did and returned to his class.

Suddenly, there was a commotion at the back of the room.

She went back to investigate only to find him sitting at his desk with his "private part" hanging out.

"I thought I told you to call your mom!" she said.

"I did," he said, "And she told me that if I could stick it out till noon, she'd come and pick me up from school.

As the mother of a little boy, I would have a hard time believing that this is not a true story....

Baked Beans
One day I met a sweet gentleman and fell in love with him. When it became
apparent that we would marry, I made the supreme sacrifice and gave up beans.
Some months later, on my birthday, my car broke down on the way home
from work. Since I lived in the countryside I called my partner and told
him that I would be late because I had to walk home. On my way, I passed
by a small diner and the odour of baked beans was more than I could stand.
With miles to walk, I figured that I would walk off any ill effects by the time
I reached home, so I stopped at the diner and before I knew it, I had
consumed three large orders of baked beans. All the way home, I made
sure that I released all the gas.
Upon my arrival, my husband seemed excited to see! me and exclaimed
delightedly: "Darling I have a surprise for dinner tonight."

He then blindfolded me and led me to my chair at the dinner table.
I took a seat and just as he was about to remove my blindfold, the
telephone rang. He made me promise not to touch the blindfold until he returned
and went to answer the call.

The baked beans I had consumed were still affecting me and the pressure
had been building and was becoming most unbearable, so while my husband
was out of the room I seized the opportunity, shifted my weight to one
leg and let one go.

It was not only loud, but it smelled like a fertilizer truck running over a
skunk in front of a pulpwood mill. I took my napkin from my lap and
fanned the air around me vigorously.

Then, shifting to the other cheek, I ripped off three more. The stink
was worse than a skunk's on a diet of cooked cabbage.

Keeping my ears carefully tuned to the conversation in the other room,
I went on like this for another few minutes.
The pleasure was indescribable. When eventually the telephone
farewells signalled the end of my freedom, I quickly fanned the air a few
more times with my napkin, placed it on my lap and folded my hands back
on it feeling very relieved and pleased with myself.
My face must have been the picture of innocence when my husband
returned, apologizing for taking so long. He asked me if I had peeked
through the blindfold, and I assured him I had not.
At this point, he removed the blindfold, and twelve dinner guests
seated around the table chorused: "Happy Birthday to You !!!!"

I fainted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

manicures, pedicures, massages, stuff for sale, Avon, Pampered Chef,
Intimate toys, wine tasting companies who book parties, dental consultations,

Of course, it all costs $$$, but we've got the room, bringing wine and liquor to
our rooms too, and food....

Should be fun:woohoo:

Good morning/afternoon all!

This morning we have swim class, and this afternoon we're going over to our friends' house for the day. Tomorrow is swimming in the afternoon and then taking pizza over to the in-law's for dinner.

What's everyone else up to?

Oh, and I did get a date set to have my basement waterproofing done - March 17th. I'm hoping it will be early enough that most of the snow will not have melted yet. I can't believe I'm saying this, but here's hoping it stays cold for another 2 weeks! :scared1:

Good morning/afternoon everyone. I just dropped my sister and her family off at the airport. They are going to Disneyworld and I wanted to stow away in their luggage so very badly and go with them but I dropped them off at the airport and went to the grocery store and came home :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: My great-nieces were so excited! The almost 3 year old has been awake since 1:30 this morning talking about castles and princesses, I hope she sleeps on the plane! I can't wait to see their pictures and hear all about it when I pick them up at the airport next Sat. night!

And people wonder why we don't tell DS about our trips. Seeing that we usually leave mid/late afternoon, could you imagine him in school?

Heck, it is bad enough that Suz knows when we go on vacation. :rotfl2:

Ellis has a McD's happy meal and we take it in and he eats it there with a bit of popadom:goodvibes

He did try and like my homemade curry the other night with rice, but some places make it with almond paste or nut oil so we cant let him eat in restaurants.

We get his results on Monday afternoon at the hospital:yay: - fingers crossed it comes back with he's only allergic to peanut:yay: - it would be soooooooooooooooooooooo much easier than avoiding every nut and every trace.

I just spent the past couple of hours designing a page to put in Angelina's school musical program booklet. With this being her final year, we wanted to make this year special. I'm hoping I can get a photo of Angelina in her costume for this year's show before the deadline for turning in the ad page. If so, then I will replace her senior picture, with her King and I photo.

Of course, this is all pending inspection by a certain teenage girl............

Me being me i have to ask,Right about these "Intimate toys"....Please explain.....:confused3

I was going to wait until after 9:00 to ask if any of the "guys" picked up a certain section of that post, but I see you already did AFEG. :rotfl2:

I booked a Passion Party last night.... that's where the intimate stuff was.
They have a website passionparties.com
There were 4 booths with this stuff and women going crazy over it.
This booth was the tamest and most discreet so I booked with their company.

I'll have to let you know how the party goes, actually it's in the middle of March! That's only a few weeks away!

Anyway some women were wearing male body part items on their heads, like on a headband and straws like that for their drinks, etc, etc.....
Too much for me:eek:

Male dancers were there. I watched but am not really interested in that,
Bob's my favorite to look at:lovestruc
But one of my best friends went up on stage and danced with 2 of the dancers and grinded with them!

If I'd seen her I'd have taken photos but I didn't know. She came back to our room about 12:30 and pulled a male dancers photo out of her pants.
He'd shoved it down there while she was onstage:scared1:

I was good.
I got a pedicure, went for a psychic reading, ate, drank but didn't even really get anywhere nearly drunk, shopped at booths, bought some cat toys, Tastefully Simple food items, chocolate, and I also booked a wine tasting party for April:thumbsup2
I was a good girl, not a crazy wild woman like my friend and LOTS of other women!

Bob wants to come to my Passion Party!
My girlfriends, who all know and love Bob dearly, said NO WAY!
No men allowed while they'll look and shop for items that night;)

Bob can't understand why he can't attend:rotfl:

What Disney movie did eight-year-old Steven Spielberg run home in terror from?

I have to go and start getting ready for the Pasta and Pops Dinner, I'll try and check back tonight after we get home and see who was the first person the select the correct movie title.

Fuuny thing is, we did the exact same thing in 1983. It was our first time going to WDW and we were going to be staying at Fort Wilderness. We were also planning on leaving early Saturday morning and arriving Sunday afternoon. Couldn't take the wait, as I was too ecited to sleep, so we also left around midnight on Friday, stopped to get some sleep at "South of the Border" on I-95 then got up and drove through the night again, and arrived at WDW early Sunday morning. It was the second week of September and luckily for us, one of the FW trailers were ready so we got to check in early. My brother Pete went with us, he was 11 at the time, now he is getting ready to turn 36...........   Boy, he got older..............

And people wonder why we don't tell DS about our trips. Seeing that we usually leave mid/late afternoon, could you imagine him in school?

Heck, it is bad enough that Suz knows when we go on vacation. :rotfl2:

My mother made the mistake of telling DS about our first trip to Door County (when he ws 3 and didn't have much of a concept of time) 10 days ahead of time - he was bouncing off the walls!

I will admit to not getting much sleep the night before we go on any trips also....I guess I'm just a big kid!

and some plug plants to grow on for my hanging baskets once the frost has passed.

I'm looking forward to wednesday when the garden designer guy comes round
and thursday in a store by us they have their new stock arrive of pots and plants - there are some georgous pots for the patio so I'll be investing in those too:banana: - I love summer and messing about in the garden. that was at the store next to caseys on main st.

robin put this pic on here earlier but didnt tell the story behind it.
for more years than i care to think about that same guys voice says that saying on the shirt on the monorail (in spanish).:hippie:
well for all those years, just to pick on the kids(and robin) i try to duplicate what he's saying. however when i say it, it comes out ..
"por pabor montinga cehalpeta si montinga":confused3 (translation, please stand clear of the door)

I knew I had read a trivia fact about this:

"Por favor mantenganse alejado de las puertas... Ladies and Gentlemen, please collect your belongings and watch your head and step. Please assist small children by the hand."

Here's a little FUN FACT for you: Did you know that if you add up all the trips the monorails have made since 1971 over the 14.7 mile (23.7 km) track (although the original route was not this long, having been extended in 1981), the total miles logged would be equal to more than 25 round trips to the moon.
