My little  just called and told me that Ghama and Ghanpa took her to see the Easter Bunny and to DQ. She said "mommy the Easter Bunny doesn't talk like Santa does, all it does is give kisses and have floppy ears." I asked her if she told the Easter Bunny what she wanted for Easter. She said "of course not mommy, it does not talk so I did not talk to it." So then I asked "why are you call the poor bunny it." She said "There is no way of telling if it is a boy or girl bunny. It is not wearing any clothes but I did not see a pee pee on it but I did not see the girl pee pee either.":rotfl2: I am still crying from laughing so hard.

Yeah, I know. That's why I bought myself some Disney stock for my 50th Birthday. This purchase tonight is making me feel better. If we had left for Florida afterwork, I would not have seen this on eBay and would have missed Becky's question about Ducky. Thanks for asking about Ducky, Becky!!! ;) ;) ;)

The funny thing is, the free litho we got during our August 2004 cruise, cost me over $160 to get framed at A.C. Moore, but it sure looks nice hanging on our wall............:wizard:

Glad I could help Andy, but don't tell Hazel that I cost that much help;) . It's a gorgeous print, happy early birthday.

My turn to vent

So I am scrapbooking on my new table. Not a problem until I look at this area of table that the light is hitting just right and has nothing covering it. I see scratch marks. So I get up and look at it closer, it is nail scrath marks. Through the two coats of sealer and 3 of the layers of stain. It is about the size of a half dollar. I at first thought it was somthing sticky on the table so I tried washing it off. That is when I realize the wood was getting wet.:scared1: Now what really makes me mad is the fact that this spot is in front of Kelsey's seat. This morning was the first and only time she has sat at the table. So you are telling me that the table has not even been in the house 24 hours, not even used by the whole family and she felt compeled to damage something I put the hard work into. :headache: :headache: :headache: :headache: :headache: :headache: :headache: :headache: :headache: :headache: She better be darn lucky she is at her moms right now.

It's just another glorious week at work. I learn alot though about different ailments, and how to deal with them. I have to give a lot of thanks to one of my best friends at work, she has worked one on one with one of our kids that is bipolar and has taught me how to deal with when they are having a "episode", you have to approach them in a calm manner, which can be very hard to do sometimes.

Like for the table, you can't go at her attacking her, that triggers it. But I always deal with the after effect, when they are in that screaming yelling not making sense mode, so I am not sure how to go about starting the discussion. And half the time when they are in that mode and they come down, they don't remember half the stuff they did. I feel for you though. If you can get her in for diagnosis, since it typically starts I believe around puberty. I learned this week that ADHD is also linked to it. I'm not saying that ADHD kids are automatically bipolar, but they have found that bipolar kids tend to be ADHD as well.

I swear I don't know who makes me madder right now. So I just told Scott about the table and he is taking the blame for it. But then he says "I will look at it in the morning to make sure I did it" :confused3 He also took the blame for money missing out of my purse the last 2 weeks. He never goes into my purse for money. If he needs money he will ask me for it. Out of nine years he has never just gone in and taken it without telling me. But yet I have found someone else going through my purse. :headache: :headache:

OK this maybe very undisney sounding of me, but can someone tell me who the heck is Ducky Williams? Sounds like he is sailing with us in August.

Well, just in case someone hasn't answered you...he's the only remaining hand animation artist left for Disney. He does some drawings on stage and tells you stories about he got started - his life story is amazing. And then they pull raffle tickets for his drawings. He also does animation classes. Well worth attending is sessions, Becky. Tag along with me and Rick as we won't miss him.

I have several Don "Ducky" Williams lithographs on our livingroom wall. Ducky is the chief senior artist for WDW. He should have a seminar or two during your cruise, plus he will probably have a Learn to Draw Mickey Class as well. Hazel and I attended both these on the cruise we were on with Ducky. In fact, Ducky sat at the table next to us for dinner, and was always bisy drawing sketches for kids in our dining rotation. We were given a free litho during this cruise as well. I won another Ducky litho during one of the silent auctions.

Lucky you Andy.

I couldn't find my pic of Ducky because it is in my other computer, but I did find this pic of Ducky online.

If you get a chance to hear him speak during your cruise, I wouldn't miss it. He also draws sketches during his seminar and gives the away as well.

That's the man.

I'm trying to decide if Hazel and I should go on a 3 day Wonder cruise while we are in Florida this May. We arrive in Florida on Wednesday afternoon and the Wonder sails on Thursday and arrives back on Sunday morning, our flight home from Orlando is at 12:45pm on that Sunday, which gives us enough time to catch our flight home. The price for the cruise for the two of us w/taxes and port charges is $1072 for a cat 12.

I'm crunching some numbers. "If" I used the $$ we have applied for the 10/09 cruise, that would just about pay for the May cruise, then I could rebook the 10/09 cruise again, we would just lose our SPH cabin and some of the onboard credits, but we would get some new onboard credits for rebooking onboard. OK, I'm thinking out loud and need some suggestions as to what to do.

Numbers Boy, where are you??? I know, you are busy doing Income Tax Returns...........:rolleyes1

Edited to add: "If" we do the 3 day Wonder in May, I will just leave the 10/09 ressie alone, I decided it wasn't worth changing everything over, especially since I would have to put down a $500 deposit to make a new ressie.

I'm going to take my life in my hands here and just throw out the suggestion that maybe you could apologize to Kelsey. By your posts last night you seemed pretty much ready to act as judge, jury, and executioner and were certain that she had damaged that table. I've found with the kids in our family that it sometimes does them a world of good to see an adult admit to an error and make amends for something.

I know ... Jay and I don't have kids and I don't know your entire situation and it's none of my business anyway. But you seem to have a lot of issues with her, and maybe this is something that could help make a difference.

You are correct that I should apologize to Kelsey. And I will on Monday when I get home from work. I was convencied becasue that is the type of thing she would do. She was highly upset about the amount of time I was putting into the table. She kept telling me that I was being selfish by working on it so much. That I should be giving her all of my time. She also told me that she wished it would fall apart. But then when Scott is around I get the comments from her of "oh it looks so nice, I really like it":confused3

Yes you are right there are issues there. I have been attending counceling to help with the issues and it worked for a while but then after this past week again things on my end of fallen off the wagon. She is also going to counceling but she will not discuss anything with her councler so it is not very helpful. Don't get me wrong. I love children but Scotts two had deffinatly made me take a step back and think.

Thank you for the advice.

I am meeting my parents for dinner tonight so I can get me  back. Hmmm. I have not been cooking while I worked on the table so now I need to get cooking again. I made a pasta with garlic and olive oil sauce already. managed to get one lunch for me and one lunch for Scott and one put in the freezer. I have a crockpot pot roast cooking in Applebees bbq sauce so I can make shredded bbq beef sandwhichs. That will be dinner for Tuesday night. Scott is grilling steak for monday night, I am making shrimp and crab (Mackenzie favorite meal) for Sunday night. So I just have to figure out the rest of the week. Any suggestions. The rest of the week I just need meals that will provide leftovers.

Where did everybody goooooooo?????

Anybody out there a tea drinker? Since I've given up coffee and soda I've been drinking tons of tea. My favorite is Earl Grey but I have to have decaf. Anybody know of a good decaf tea I could switch around with?

And please, none of that Lipton junk. :sad2:

Nancy darling, why don't you try some chamomile tea? It's herbal so you don't have to worry about caffeine, and it's also very soothing. I find that when my crohn goblin is growling the chamomile settles it down quite nicely.

Placebo effect or natural medicine ... you be the judge! :thumbsup2

I usually buy Republic of Tea - they sell those spiffy round flow-throw teabags and I think there are 50 bags to a container (about $9.00 here in Stinktown).

Thanks B. That's another tea I do like a lot. It reminds me of when I lived in Germany as a kid and it's all I drank when I lost my kidney. Sounds grim doesn't it? I would love a cup of that right now.:lovestruc

So Republic of Tea sounds familiar. Is that an Alterra purchase? Or maybe I saw it at Panera. Is it the one that comes in a tall skinny can?

I found some really good stuff at Sam's during the holiday's that was caffeine free but I drank it all down already.

BTW...Great update Bendy.:cool1:

Republic of Tea is sold in the canisters, yes. They sell it at Panera but if you have a World Market in your area you should look at buying it there instead. Panera overcharges for it.

Our grocery stores also sell it in the organic / health food aisle, but they also overcharge.

Glad you liked the update - it wasn't really funny this time, but I can't be a comedian every day. :rotfl2:

So I'm on disc 2 of The Love Boat. Geeeez, is this ever corny. But I still love it!!

Wow, how times have changed. Guests are allowed to bring friends on the ship to say goodbye, paper money is being exchanged at times, and the cabins are HUGE!! :rotfl2:

The captain is never in the bridge, Julie never works, Isaac works in every bar on the ship and only dries glasses, Doc is a little piggy and Gopher...well I don't quite know what he is supposed to be doing. What does a yeoman purser actually do on a ship?

I'm loving the cruise attire too. The guys in plaid pants, flowered shirts, big wide white belts, white shoes and black socks. The women in their short, short, short shorts, and wedged shoes that go about 5 inches high. :rotfl2:

Oh my, these goes a yellow leisure suit!!! :rotfl2:

Very relaxing night. Went to dinner with the folks. That did not sit to well with me. Time for some tea to calm the stomach. I have to agree with B that chamomile is very soothing. Got to spend about an hour snuggled up on the couch with Mac watching tv. Really odd for me. I never sit still long enough to watch a whole show. In the hour I only got up one time to check the crock pot. Now that she is in bed I need to go cut the meat up for sandwhiches.

Seasoned cruisers, tell me more about the auctions please.:goodvibes

Hi Paige--the last time I was on the ship, there were an outfit called Park West who was holding auctions during the cruise. This is not the auction that I got my Ducky Williams litho at.

Back on our August 2004 a Silent Auction was held on deck 4 and several pieces of Disney articles were up for auction. There was Disney art, a DCL Captain's hat, articles from the ship, etc... At each article up for bid were sheets of paper where a passenger could write their name, cabin number, and the bid they wanted to place. Each article had a starting bid price. I believe it was the last night of the cruise, around 8pm, when the bidding ended and the winners were announced. Some of the bidding on the more popular items got real crazy near the final minutes. That's when I lost out on the Ducky Williams litho of Memories of Walt, it got to a price far higher than I was willing to pay. I was able to get another Ducky Williams litho that night for $250.

I hate trying to find a place to board the dog. I wish I could trust the neighbors enough to watch her but after what happened with the cruise there is no way.

It looks like the going rate is going to be about $30.00 a day so about $240.00 for the whole time. I guess that is not bad. It is just that our dog does not have alot of needs. She needs her food filled up one time a day (if that, when we are gone she usually does not eat) and she needs to be let out in the morning, evening and then right before bed. That is it. She really does not play and does not like going on walks.

Here's a satellite view of the lower part of St Martin. I've put Maho Bay on there so you can see where it is in relation to the cruise ship dock.

http://www.cassworld.ca/images/stmartin.jpg

Cass, those pictures are awesome. Do you have any at Maho Beach? Karen, that's where the planes fly in. I think I might be able to post some of those myself, but I'll have to look for them.

So here's a question for Cass, Mike/Robin, Walt and Di. Now that you finally went on a Western, which itinerary did you like the best? Eastern or Western?

Off to buy me some good tea. Later all.

Personally I prefer the Western but I'm not a fan on Cozumel. But I really like Grand Cayman and I enjoyed what I saw of Key West.

However, I love St Thomas!!!! And I love the extra day at sea. It really makes a difference having that extra day, seems like the cruise is longer.

If I had my choice I would like to have a Western with Grand Cayman, Key West and then an extra day at sea instead of stopping at Cozumel. :woohoo:

I hate trying to find a place to board the dog. I wish I could trust the neighbors enough to watch her but after what happened with the cruise there is no way.

It looks like the going rate is going to be about $30.00 a day so about $240.00 for the whole time. I guess that is not bad. It is just that our dog does not have alot of needs. She needs her food filled up one time a day (if that, when we are gone she usually does not eat) and she needs to be let out in the morning, evening and then right before bed. That is it. She really does not play and does not like going on walks.

Wow, wish my dogs were that easy to care for  All my dogs want to do is play and go for walks :lmao: And they enjoy visiting the backyard many times each day

I don't recall, did you ever post a pic of your doggie???

MinnMick01

I have narrowed it down to two kennels. Now I just have to make a decision on which one to go with. :confused3 I guess I will talk them over with Scott when he gets up and see what he thinks.

Then I have to look for the dogs shot records. They could be anywhere.

No I did not post a picture. They few we have all make her look like we never feed her. I told Scott I need to take some more of her but she sleeps with him all day and then me all night so I keep forgetting when she is awake.

She does not need much care at all is why I hate to have to take her somewhere with strangers and pay for them to take care of her.

That and it means I have to get some more shots for her and get her flea and tick diped. All more added costs.

Edited to add: "If" we do the 3 day Wonder in May, I will just leave the 10/09 ressie alone, I decided it wasn't worth changing everything over, especially since I would have to put down a $500 deposit to make a new ressie.

hmm. tough decision. we struggled over whether to do an oct cruise this year or wdw at xmas.(went with the xmas),:santa:
i liked the wonder cruises but they fly by so fast.
it would be great to be on that ship!!!:woohoo:

Chuck is off coaching basketball and then to a Bucks game tonight. I have season 1 of my absolute favorite show ever! THE LOVE BOAT!!! It'll be a Love Boat marathon for me tonight.

Later!;)

:rotfl2:

Jay and I also prefer the Eastern over the Western. We love the extra day at sea and the islands just seem more tropical to us. Cozumel and Key West really didn't do much for us, and Costa Maya was still fairly undeveloped in 2004 (Hurricane Ivan diverted us from Grand Cayman).

Here's a couple of pics from St. Martin ... we didn't take very many. It's a beautiful island and the water is an incredible shade of blue. These pics were taken while we were on our morning excursion - the 12-metre regatta! We both highly recommend this - it's so much fun but it's also a lot of work. But how often will any of us get to sail in an America's Cup yacht? And Cass, we were on a Canadian yacht and our team won!! Go Canada!! :cheer2:

Yeah, they had their "guys" following both yachts at one point during the race and told us when to look at the camera so they could get a good group shot.

And of course once it was over they took us back to their little store to sell us stuff (but they also gave us "free" rum punch!!!). I think we paid about $15 for the picture, but like I said ... how often does anyone in the "real" world get a chance to sail on a racing yacht?

And I hear ya on the pain thing ... although that trip for me was made difficult because of the issues I was having with Endo. I just gave myself a stern talking to that morning and said ... "Self, you and your ovarian cysts are just going to have to suck it up because we're going to have some freaking fun. You just wait until this afternoon to start firing those pain receptors and we'll talk vicodin then!" :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

It worked, too! ;)

I think with chronic pain it would be harder, but you can tell the tour operators that you don't want to be involved in any "work" and they'll just let you come along for the ride. It really was a fun experience - one of the highlights of the cruise for us. :thumbsup2

Yeah, that was a concern of mine too Karen. Since it's not a Disney excursion DCL will not hold the ship for you. Our friends did Maho and she watched the clock like a hawk. I'd rather pay a little more to have the guaranty that the ship waits.

I think I learned my lesson in Cozumel. Our excursion ran way over it's time and there were 15 of us running for the ship and made it just in time. I know DCL would have waited because it was one of their excursions, but it still made us all nervous. :scared1:
