was that booking on board the ship?

We did book onbaord but just for a dummy date *** our date hadnt been released yet.

The day Disney released them I rang up and transfered my reservation to this date and asked for that specific room with the free window.

If I remember rightly you too like the odd drop of wine;)

but from the look on Sean's face he wasnt too keen on that glass:rotfl2:

We did the afternoon wine tasting and the only one I liked was the Rosa Regale. The others we too dry.

No, its a cat 10 this time but the room used to be a higher category but the view is slightly obscured so they dropped the category to an "inside" cat 10 category but we still get the window for "free". We're still on deck 5 - we like it there - one floor down to loads of stuff inc. those squashy comfortable loungers:cloud9: and real close to the kids club so we can throw Ellis in:rotfl:

I'll play...

I used to collect china dolls, but haven't added one to my collection in several years.

I have a small collection of Willow Tree Angels and figurines:

http://www.demdaco.com/WillowTree.aspx

for those of you who haven't seen them...

I am currently trying not to add to any collections as I have a small house and I'm quickly running out of room.

I also collect memories...captured on photos and eventually displayed in scrapbooks for me to enjoy :goodvibes

Yes....we have them over here Jen and they are rather lovely.

GO GIT CHA MOMMA

A redneck family from the hills was visiting the
city and they were in a mall for the first time in
their lives. The father and son were strolling around
while the wife shopped. They were amazed by
almost everything they saw, but especially by two
shiny, silver walls that could move apart and then
slide back together again.

The boy asked, "Paw, what's at?" The father (never
having seen an elevator) responded, "Son, I dunno. I
ain't never seen anything like that in my entire life,
I ain't got no idea'r what it is."

While the boy and his father were watching with
amazement, a old lady in a wheel chair rolled up
to the moving walls and pressed a button. The walls
opened and the lady rolled between them into a small room.

The walls closed and the boy
and his father watched the small circular number above
the walls light up sequentially. They continued to
watch until it reached the last number and then the
numbers began to light in the reverse order. Then the
walls opened up again and a gorgeous, voluptuous 24
year-old blonde woman stepped out.

The father, not taking his eyes off the young woman,
said quietly to his son,
"Boy..................go git cha Momma..............."
:lmao:

Hey Carrie!

I may have missed you already but good luck!

Can I ask (I think I missed it) what project this is?

MinnMick01

So here is what I have been working on for the last 3 weeks, in all my spare time. It is our new kitchen table. I have never done a wood project before. So this was a new experience for me. It is just under 4 feet wide and is a little of 6 feet long. The legs are redwood, and the top is solid oak. It would have only taken me two weeks but I used the wrong varnish and had to stripe it off and start over. Then the weather played into the stain drying again. But now it is in the house and ready to use.

I attempted chairs. Will never do that again. The three that I made looked horrible. So for now we are using the chairs we have had and I will buy chairs from an unstained wood place as I have the money to buy them.

Update on Sean's grandma:

Sean's mom just called. Grandma is going to be released in the next few days to a skilled nursing facility for some physical therapy and getting as back on her feet as she can. She is off dialysis:cool1: which to me is amazing since she was in total failure this time last week. After her time in the nursing facility, they are hoping she will be well enough to move into a assisted living facility. So we will see, keeping our fingers crossed.

:woohoo: great news

I used to collect WDCC...... got tons of the stuff but had to stop *** we ran out of foom and Ellis was born so it all had to go into glass cabinets away from little fingers.

I also collect xmas ornaments:rolleyes1 (as some of you already know from my house photos!)

I also collect disney number plates - got about 30 but nowhere to put them. We're going to display them in Ellis' playroom/garage (when we get round to it. )

Good question Karen! I collect Disney art. Cels, Paintings, sketches, pin art. I used to get one heck of a discount when I worked for the company plus limited cast member release items as well so our house is full!
I also collect antique bunnies.

Woody collects Star War memorabilia and toys.

Yes I made the table. I got a bee up my butt. Our old table was falling apart. I have been looking at table and I wanted one that was real wood not the pressed wood. Then I was to picky with what I wanted and could not find anything for under $800 that I liked. So I decided I would try to make one. Low and behold it turned out and it only cost me $247.48 and that included all the wood for the chairs that I decided to trash and the incorrect varnish and striper. All and all not bad.

Did you post pics of your hat. I would love to see. I am not that creative.

Hi Jen

People want you to recycle but then they make it so stinking hard. Macs class was collecting cans for field trips. Well half way through the year they stopped so we told the grandparents who were collect to continue and we would trade the cans in for cash and put that cash in a college account for Mac. With my parents it is very little cans, but then Scotts dad just dropped off 5 large black trash bags of cans. Now I can not find a place to take them to. :headache:

figured out what tickets we need, but now I have to call the Disney store and see if they sell them. Anyone ever bought their tickets on line through DL. I am a little leary on the stand point that you print them yourself. They would not be the same as the cards.

We are going up to Door County WI for a week in July...so we will get a vacation this year, but not DL :sad2:

My in-laws (all of them - MIL, FIL, SIL, BIL, and kids) ALL booked for the Oct '09 cruise - I am a little (well a lot) worried about it...but I hope I'm worrying for nothing.

No worries Jen!! Your DIS buddies will be there to give you all the support you need!! :grouphug:

Jen  Sorry to hear that! I know you were so looking forward to that trip! We had to cancel our June trip because Woody will not have enough vacation time by then with the new job. It was supposed to be my big 30th birthday trip. We were going to go to Victoria and Alberts too. :headache: His bright idea was to just rebook V&A for October when we are down with my family. :sad2: I had to remind him that my parents would never eat at a place like that! I wouldn't hear the end of it after they found out the price!

I was looking forward to it, but I sort of had to pick between AZ/DL this year and the cruise in '09. And OF COURSE the cruise wins. I will get a paper route and sell plasma if I need to to get back on that boat!

The basement is costing us quite a bit of $$$, plus with recession looming and the $$ of gas and everything else going up, we decided it would be wiser to wait.

Sorry you had to cancel WDW - we've been through that before. Pete had to cancel out on Door County twice now because he didn't have enough vacation starting a new job and then using his vacation for the '07 cruise.

:headache:

They want us to recycle...but then tell you that they will only take certain plastics. Mind you since we've been recycling, I've reduced our waste by half.

Oh, I forgot to mention....................I came home from work today and was greeted by a teenage daughter with major PMS, how lovely for me............

I'll trade you your PMS-y teen for my tantrum-y 5 year old! :lmao:

DS did not have a good day today at school....I think he's still not getting enough sleep from the time change. Sigh....

They want us to recycle...but then tell you that they will only take certain plastics. Mind you since we've been recycling, I've reduced our waste by half.

JMHO, but the best recycling program we've experienced is the one in Monterey, CA. Our recycle bin was double the size of our trash bin. When we first moved there, I thought we'd never be able to live with such a small trash bin, but that forced us to recycle more and more. In just a couple of weeks, we were filling up that huge recycle bin (sometimes over-flowing it). We didn't have to rinse anything or sort anything either. It was so easy that I don't know why every state doesn't do it that way.

I did recycling arizona and got this:

http://www.recyclearizona.net/makingmoney.html

I'd try that search and see what other links you get also...

Thank you Jen. I have found that it is between 70 and 80 cents a pound

We have the same here. I don't have a problem recycling, what I have a problem with is having to pay to recycle.

We not only have to do that, but there is a tax on soda cans and water bottles. So in a sense we are paying twice to recycle those items.

Lets see I called ahead of time to make sure they had them. Person I spoke to was Breanna. She told me the tickets were in the back and just to let the person know that I want the ones that are good after April. So I got there and the person to help me was Breanna. She went back to get them and could not find them. It took her 10 minutes to find them. She started to ring them up, first the 2 adults and then the child. The child one would not ring up. Her manager came to help her and could not figure it out. 5 minutes later Breanna is calling the help desk at the parks main office. 15 minutes on the phone with them. They finally decided to do 2 transactions. One for the adult tickets and then one for the kid ticket. For some reason they each were canceling each other out if we did it all together. So we did the adults first and I wrote a check. Not a problem according to Breanna. Then we did the kid ticket and wrote another check. The system would not process my check. They have some kind of police that if you take 2 checks from the same person in one day they have to call some number for authorization. So she calls the number. The number was disconnected. She called another store to get the number they use. She then calls that number. The person she got was a complete idiot. Took all of my info, which she had to repeat 4 times to that person, then they ask for the account number for the store. The person says "Oh I am sorry you do not have an account with us" and hung up. She called back and asked for a manager. We held for 10 minutes. Manager comes on she explains the story. That person took all the info from my check 3 different times. Put her on hold 3 times. Came back asking for the account info from the store. Put her on hold 3 more times. At this point I am getting fed up. The whole time I had Mac with me who was very well behaved. I told Breanna while she was on hold "how about we cancel the transaction and re ring it and charge it on a credit card." She told me that when this lady comes back that if she can not get it to work that we will have to do that.

Now all Breanna needed was a authorization code to type in to make it work. The lady comes back and tells her they have no account. Breanna hangs up and says "I am going to do something I am not supposed to do but I don't care." She punched in a bunch of different numbers several different times until she got a combo that would allow her to process it. She hands me the tickets and says have a great day. :worship:

I have several Don "Ducky" Williams lithographs on our livingroom wall. Ducky is the chief senior artist for WDW. He should have a seminar or two during your cruise, plus he will probably have a Learn to Draw Mickey Class as well. Hazel and I attended both these on the cruise we were on with Ducky. In fact, Ducky sat at the table next to us for dinner, and was always bisy drawing sketches for kids in our dining rotation. We were given a free litho during this cruise as well. I won another Ducky litho during one of the silent auctions.
