Hi Neighbor. We are from NKY also. We are planning on going to Disney some time in the next year, it will be the first trip for all of us. We are debating between this summer, October when my 5 year old is on fall break from Kindergarten, or next summer. I'm starting to lean towards October but still trying to plan everything out. I just wish we were close enough to drive but that long in the car with 2 little ones makes me nuts just thinking about it.

We drove from Kentucky in December and yes, it's a long trip. But it's certainly doable, just break it up. We did not - BIG mistake!! We left on Friday night about 7, arrived in Orlando about 11 the next morning. Fortunately the kids did sleep, but we were really tired! We didn't hit the parks until Sun, so we had time to rest up. The trip back was worse, left at 8:45 Sat morning and arrived home just before 1:00 a.m. Sun - YUCK!!! We swore then we would never drive again, but we are planning a driving trip to the Grand Canyon for this summer!!!!!:rotfl:

Well I've been checking around and we can fly out of Dayton, OH and save $360 over the price of flying out of Cincinnati so we may do that. We took a
5 hour drive with the kids one time and it was horrible. I'm sure it depends on the kids but mine like to torture each other then they scream and cry. A DVD player did help but they fight over which movie to watch. Just don't think I'm up to driving any further. And we are trying to squeeze the trip in during our daughters fall break from school so we only have 6 days. I hate to "waste" 2 days driving down and back I rather spend our time actually in Florida.
