Do you have to book them before your trip or when you arrive?

Any idea how many cabannas they have?? I would like to reserve one for July, but worry about reserving to soon and then having to change plans!:lmao:

I think they have 18...I thought I read that somewhere. I went ahead and booked one for 6/22 my DS 6 has had skin cancer, and I thought it was worth the money. But having said that they made it clear that there was a 24 hour cancellation policy, so it might be worth it to book now, and cancell later if reviews come back that it is unnecessary...Hope that helps...Kate

Off the the sides of the beach area...actually, more off to the sides of the wave pools themselves.

can be opened or closed for privacy
has a ceiling fan
little refrigerator
2 lounge chairs
2 sitting chairs
side table

included: All Day Locker rental
sunscreen, towels that will be changed out if you request
16 beverages (soda, juice and water) already in cabana when you arrive

one question - If you order lunch - how do you pay??

Do you give the cabana boy the money or charge it to a credit card and then tip in cash????

Plus how much tip do you give cabana boys/girls (assuming they fetch you lunch)?? (If you get your own lunch, Do they do anything else that you need tip them for???):confused3 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

thanks again!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

You can use your credit card. I am more of a cash girl myself. I would tip what you feel is right. I understand the cabana boys/girls will provide new towels at your request and deliver lunch. I will post more information when we return.

Put in Aquatica and you'll find the website. I'm sorry I'm not a techie ;) I just put Aquatica in and found a pull down menu to reserve a cabana.

We had a Cabana on March 26th and it was worth every penny. The staff were telling us how well the Cabana's were going over and they were totally booked on the 26, 27 and 28th already. If you want a Cabana I would suggest requesting one.

When you arrive you go through a door marked Big Kahuna. They check your name off and a Cabana person escorts you to your private Cabana. You stop for a photo which was presented to us at the end of our day. They put your name on a sign outside of the Cabana. There are two lounge chairs, two sand chairs and two sitting chairs in your Cabana area. There is a little refrigerator stocked with 20 ounce bottles of 4 fruit punch, 2 diet Pepsi, 2 regular Pepsi and 8 waters. We had drinks left over that we brought back to our hotel and drank later. There was 3 packets of Sunscreen (like they use at Discovery Cove). There were 4 towels and they will bring you as many or change out wet towels as often as you like. You are given a key for a large locker (they will be getting lockers in the Cabana's at a later time). The Cabana person assigned to your Cabana will deliver your lunch (you have to order it at least 1 hour prior) which is brought in a picnic basket. They will get you drinks or whatever you request. Very nice and worth every penny.

Thanks for the review. Any pics?

Also tripadvisor review stated: "cabanas are also located on unattractive concrete zones and are covered in dark green tarpaulin, they don't even look nice". What is your impression of the location?

I have some photos on my iPhone. If I can figure out how to post them I will.

There is a lot of concrete at Aquatica. We had a Cabana right next to the life guard station at the wave pool. There were some located farther away and very near the smoking area which I would not have liked. We loved our location. The Cabanas are green with purple accents. Matched the Australian themeing of the water park. I thought they were very nice.

I thought the cabana's looked very nice. They are all near the wave pool area. If you have an Annual Pass you get a $25.00 discount.

Also, the cabana's only house 4 people. Additional people are $30.00 a peice? I believe it was 30.

They are around concrete, but the whole park is concrete except for the beach area outside of the wave pool.

Yes, their capacity is 7, but the $150 is for 4 and each additional person is $30. . . however, when I booked our cabana, AQ was not even open yet, but they were taking reservations for the cabanas. I got lots of different answers to the same questions, so they have been working out the kinks. This 4 person rule was not in effect when they first started the cabana thing . . . it came about later. I found that out when the AQ website came online and had the information there. I called and explained that we are a family of 5 and I booked a cabana for our family. . not 4 of us and I didn't think it was fair to change things around after a person had booked. The young lady I spoke to was very nice, but she couldn't do anything about it, so I kindly asked for her manager. I explained things to him and he agreed with me so he called AQ and they are accommodating our family without the upcharge. I did express, however, that all I wanted was an extra chair. I was not expecting extra drinks or sunscreen or whatever else, just a chair. I will post a trippie when we return in early May.

I wish someone would post some cabana pics. . .that's the only thing missing on the board!

We had a Cabanna and it was great. We got one which looked right over the Dolphin pool and although it was right in the middle of the park it was so quiet.when you were in it you could have been on a dessert island.i am pretty sure no other guests knew we were there...LOL !!

Having the table and fridge was great,we had the kids so we got enough soda and fruit to do them most off the day and it keeped cool in the fridge.

I would recommend it to any one.....I only have a few photos but here they are.

It is outrageous and yes, they really do charge the extra $30. I posted earlier in this thread regarding our experience with that. . .and we haven't even been there yet. Maybe if enough people post and send negative comments about this, they will quit that charge. I don't know of anywhere else that does that.

This is what surprised me, that they would put some of the cabanas so close to the smoking section.

OOOHHH, that sounds nice... Now, let me ask. What if our friends went to AQ the same day as us and decide not to rent one, would there be a problem with them coming in our cabana for a rest? Would we get charged for extra people? We usually split up on vacation, but sometimes like to sit for a few minutes together and have a coke or ice cream and talk about what we've done/seen...

I'm wondering the same thing about visitors. My family of four is going next week and my brother and his wife are supposed to meet us there. We will not need extra drinks or even chairs as we will all be up and down on various rides and slides and pools during the day. There is not likely to be a lot of time where we all would be in the cabana at the same time and my brother would be buying his own food and drinks seperately. Would there be a problem with them hanging out with us part of the time?
