even though we have medical with DH work
we always get medical at BMO then if you wxchange $100 at the same time and they remember to stamp the right spot on the form you also get $2000 trip cancelation and interuption insurance per person free
for our family of 4 we pay $54 for 2 weeks

You can also purchase travel insurance at CIBC. At a branch or online, also by phone I think...it is relatively inexpensive.

I don't think you have to have an account
just do in and ask for the booklet the form is in there
quite often the tellers don't know about the trip cancallation part just take the time to read the booklet have it all filled out and remind them to stamp the square that says you exchanged money or bought travlers cheques
I have had one or 2 tell me they don't offer it but we have been buying it for 10 years it still takes me a minute some times to find the right page to show them
but its there some times they change the booklet around
I found it online

If you booked through a travel agent they can help with all the insurance options.
If not, go to your local travel agent and they will help you. Do not go to an RBC branch as they only sell medical insurance, not the whole travel package.
I always go with RBC Insurance.
Does BMO cover lost luggage, etc?

I recently bought the RBC Travel Health Protector Insurance from our local branch. They offer Emergency Medical Insurance or Enhanced Coverage which gives you the additional Flight and Travel Accident Insurance, Baggage and Personal Effects Insurance and Trip Interruption/After Departure Insurance.
Purchasing through the branch, however, you must be a client of RBC (or spouse or child of an RBC client). They had the brochure/application form/certificate packages on display at the front of the branch.

That is new. I just completed a Travel Law and Insurance course in December and the RBC Insurance representative who spoke to us said you could only buy medical at a branch.
Thank you for the update.
