Let's all have fun and post all of our own photos from the Yacht Club, Beach Club, and Beach Club Villas.

Got family shots? Great!
Got food shots? Great! Got bad photos?
Maybe not great, but sure, put them in!
We'd love to see them all!!!

Please just try to give a little bit of explanation with your photo and maybe provide a date too. Thanks!

If you have specific questions for any of these resorts, please see our FAQ thread ... Sailing to the Yacht Club & Beach Club? ... 2008 FAQ (http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1572316)

That is a water view room. We paid for 3 standard rooms but they upgraded all of us on checkin to waterview all adjoining.

Thank you very much! Last year we had new sleeper sofas in the studio at the Beach Club, and they were great! I slept on it for ten nights and had no problems. It folds so much better. It was all one piece with the bed pillows almost tucked in. It's hard to describe, but so much easier. Best of all, they got rid of that bar that used to stick right into your back. I'm pretty sure there were double sinks in the studio. I can't really remember. There were three of us and we never had to fight for bathroom space though

We've gone the first week of December numerous times and SOMETIMES it's warm enough to use the pool... :rotfl: It's all luck of the draw really. Quick question: Can you walk to Epoct AND Disney Hollywood Studios from this resort? That;s what I read. If so about how long of a walk is it?

Thanks, and keep the pics coming. I'll be sure to post a few of my own when I get back. pirate:

Well, from the BC it is about a 10-15 minute walk to Epcot (with 2 kids, lol) I have heard you can walk to the Studios but IMHO, I would only do it if I "had" to...friends of ours said it was quite a hike. The fairy boat is the best way to get there. HTH

We had a first floor room and it was near a grassy area. We did see these frogs occasionally but not in abundance. What you will see all over the place is those little geckos or salamanders, whatever they are.

It could be worse squeezle, remember Florida is also known for those much larger amphibians. We use to see 2 alligators in the lagoon out by the villas quiet pool as you walk to the parking lot. Now I would hate to wake up to that outside my patio door. :rotfl:

There's a hot tub near the villas quiet pool. I'll be there with you 5/1-5/5. Crowds were really nice the last time I went during this time (2 years ago). Never waited more than 23 minutes for a major attraction. We never used FP.

Hi - Thanks for posting the 2/08 pictures of the 2 bedroom BCV. We'll be going at the end of April and we were wondering what the TV situation was. We were hoping to be able to hook up my nephew's Mac mini to the TV but that looks pretty old. (He can't use a laptop due to CP).

There's a hot tub near the villas quiet pool. I'll be there with you 5/1-5/5. Crowds were really nice the last time I went during this time (2 years ago). Never waited more than 23 minutes for a major attraction. We never used FP.

OK, since hot tubs were brought up.....is there a HOT tub (not a cold tub :rotfl: ) at the Yacht club? I so love to sit in one with a drink (or two...!) after a long day in the parks! DH thinks I'm crazy sitting in a hot tub in FL when it's 80 degrees out, but I love my tubs....here in IL I'm in our jacuzzi/tub ALL the time to get warm from all this yuck cold weather we've had!

YC has a hot tub next to its quiet pool. I think its near the tennis courts. There is also a laundry room there too. But bring your drinks with you cuz its a looong walk to a bar. If you look at the first post on pg 1 you will see the picture, the quiet pool is on left side of the pic.

I would check the inside of your shoes if you leave them on the patio. We were at the BCV quite pool and there was a snake going along the patios.

I only moved here a month ago and at this point I will take spring!
For sure - as I sit here looking out the window at a veritable blizzard here in Orchard Park - is spring only 13 days away? But yes, here in OP, we do have frogs - not to worry, they are rather smaller than the ones in Florida;)

Absolutely love this thread. I am convincing my DH for the YC for our 25th anniversary. He loves the Dolphin - but I love the YC (and have never stayed there). Our DD wants to daybed for herself.
A standard view of the wedding gazebo would be wonderful.
Memories of our wedding and smaller clothing sizes :rotfl:
Hey we were in our late 20's when we were married, now we in our early 50's.
Things change.:lmao:

We will get 10 day park hopper passes for 13 days at WDW.
We can spend 3 days at SAB relaxing and enjoying the Florida sun.
It will be the 2 weeks of Easter.
If we get the pluses added to the park hopper, I guess we could swing over to DQ to let our teens have some gaming fun, those 3 days too.
SAB looks so great:thumbsup2

I plan to pack bathing suits in our carry ons, in case our room is not ready on our day of arrival and check out SAB. I hope it does not rain on our arrival day.:worship: Please do not rain.

Can anyone tell me about the bus from YC to Magic Kingdom? Also if we wanted to walk to the monorail from the YC would it take quite a while? Thanks!

Bus from YC to MK will take approx. 15 - 20 minutes after you are on the bus (it stops at BC after YC).

To take the monorail from Epcot to MK, first you would walk to Epcot through International gateway entrance (about 5 - 10 minute walk from YC), then you would have to walk through part of World Showcase and then through Future World (probably a 15 - 20 minute walk? never timed this, but just a guess), then you would walk out the main Epcot entrance to the Monorail entrance, you would take this monorail to TTC and then transfer monorails to the express monorail to MK. So, the whole trip would take minimum of 45 minutes or most likely closer to an hour.

Hope this helps! We have done this route in reverse when park hopping from MK to Epcot. It is good for relaxation early afternoon, but definitely not the quickest route.

I have the same camera, but haven't taken it to WDW yet. What type of Camera Bag do you use at WDW. The bag that I have is kind of big and bulky so I need something more streamlined that will hold the D80 with the 18-200mm VR zoom attached, a spare battery and maybe my sb800 flash.

34 more days til BCV!!

Do the BCV studios have hair dryers? I know regular rooms do, so I assume that the villas do to. Am I right to assume?

Do ALL the YC rooms with 2 queen beds have a day bed ?

If only 2 requests are allowed on for a YC reservation - we would then only request a room view of the wedding gazebo and an upper floor.

Thanks for your expertise !

No, not all YC rooms with queens have a day bed. We had that sorry experience on our trip over Easter. Not only did we not get a daybed, which we requested, in our connecting room, we got a king in one of the rooms - fine for DH and self, but not so fine considering we were traveling with DD and her friend (both 21), DS and his girlfriend, (both 18) and DS age 10. So the sleeping configuration, as you can see, was somewhat complicated:laughing: So we ended up getting a roll-away, which in the opinion of DS age 18, was like a "sheet on top of springs":rotfl: - just horrible! But I told him those are the sacrifices you have to make if you want your sweetie to come along!
Anyway, we found out that special requests for room locations or content are almost impossible when the resort is as 100% occupancy. Oh, well....

Pooh2001,

Sorry I didn't see your request sooner or I would have responded quicker. We were at the YC in October and one afternoon there was a lovely wedding in the gazebo. So, this is for your YC wedding memories.

The Rose Garden Wedding Gazebo:

http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g123/DAV_03/WDW%20Yacht%20Club%20Resort/055.jpg

Same location but lit for the night:

http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g123/DAV_03/WDW%20Yacht%20Club%20Resort/P1010030.jpg

The setting was right, now all we need are guests and bride.

http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g123/DAV_03/WDW%20Yacht%20Club%20Resort/P1010052.jpg

No WDW bride should arrive without a royal coach.

http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g123/DAV_03/WDW%20Yacht%20Club%20Resort/P1010059.jpg

The guests have arrived, the violinist is tuning up and the wedding coordinator is giving last minute directions.

http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g123/DAV_03/WDW%20Yacht%20Club%20Resort/P1010125.jpg

Here comes the bride.

http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g123/DAV_03/WDW%20Yacht%20Club%20Resort/P1010126.jpg

The violinist sets just the right theme with, "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes".

http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g123/DAV_03/WDW%20Yacht%20Club%20Resort/P1010127.jpg

Let's hope they live happily ever after!

A 2 bdrm is like a 2 bdrm house...1 main entry door.
A lock off 2 bdrm is a studio + 1 bdrm with a door in between the units..hence..2 outside entry doors.
BTW..Some DVCers make sure they get the dedicated, so as NOT to have an additional outside door with kids in a studio's.

From the pics it looks like they decorate pretty well for the holidays. Is that carousel there every year?

Too bad it would probably be too chilly in Dec to make use of SAB, or else we would stay here during our Dec trip.

Sigh.....I SO want to stay here. :sad1:

Ok I have a question for all you Yacht/Beach Club lovers. Have any of you stayed at the Boardwalk before? If so, which do you like more? My DH and I have stayed at the Boardwalk for the last 3 years and love it. This year we booked BW again, but they were sold out of water/boardwalk views. Yacht Club has water views still avail. I am trying to decided on if I want to switch or not. Any suggestions??

The boardwalk at night from the YC:

Well, got back from the Y&B this past Saturday. The trip was for work but the resort was a very nice resort and I had a pretty good time. The Parks were very crowded due to Spring breaks, and what made it worse was that we could only visit parks at mid-afternoon when they were the busiest. :sad2: I didn't get in too much at the parks but I made the best of it. :cool1:

Check out some of my Y&B pics at my myspace page. See my signature.

how steep is the slide..are we talking like Splash Mountain steep?

are there any hammocks on the Beach Club property?

RazorFace83
05-15-2008, 12:56 AM
No, it's not THAT steep. I know it may look high but trust me, it isnt scary at all. It's a really FUN slide! You shoot down and do a few turns and thats it! :)

As for the hammocks, I dont recall seeing any so I can't be of much help there...

hey y'all we just got back from a weeks stay at the Beach Club and boy oh boy did I fall in love with this resort. It was absolutely beautiful. The smell when we first walked in is something that I will never forget. When we arrived we found out we had been upgraded to Concierge level with a FULL balcony. The pool was fabulous, the beach was beautiful, the boat rides to Epcot and Hollywood Studios was great, the service was indescribable, and the memories made at that resort are PRICELESS!

Hi everyone. Yes, I'm new, OK new to posting, and this is my first post! Hopefully I'm doing this right!?!

My S.O. and I are heading to Beach Club for a quick trip over July 4th weekend (YAY!) and staying in a one-bedroom suite. Anyone with photos of that type of room? I looked at links to the layouts and combed as best as I could through the photos in this thread, but would love to see some of "the real thing"!

Thanks!
