DH is from Northern CA, and never had sweat on his upper lip til our wedding in WDW in June of 03....or maybe it was because of the wedding?! lol or the bill.....

Same here, grabbed 2 studios for Easter week-cant wait. Spring weather is so great there, and this resort is by far our fave for then. :thumbsup2

can anyone direct me to where I would find photos of the studio at the Beach club villas?? We are thinking of renting points from a friend for April 12 and especially if there are no discounts out for regular rooms this may be a great way to stay somewhere nicer for the cost of a mod. Thanks to anyone that can help!!!!

thanks for the pictures! We are going (flight booked!) April 11th-20th. Waiting to find out how much our friend will rent the points to us for. So we are looking around at all the Studios. Anyone have any hints as to which DVC studio is better than another? All the same except location? Which ones have had the most recent updates. Meaning newer pullout. I don't want my 2 boys sleeping on an ancient pullout sofa bed for 9 nights. :rolleyes:

Try a Bay Lake Tower or a Kindani Village studio. Those are the newest with the most recently updated amenities.

The pics posted a few posts up on the page before this (page #84) are what the BCV studios currently look like. The newest ones are AKV-Kidani and BLT, but since you have no interest in those, you may want to check out SSR. Those are pretty new as well, or even OKW, whose villas were recently refurbed and are similar to the Beach Club.

we are going to go with either Beach club studio, or AKL Jambo house studio. At $7.00 per point we can't go wrong...will make a decision very soon! We like the location of Beach club, and love the atmosphere of Jambo house. We do not like the locations of SSR or OKW. if the pull out sofa is uncomfortable I'll let the boys take the bed! We stayed at the Cont. once and it was not for us, so my DH would not be on board for BLT EVER! thanks for the info and pics !!!:banana:

Wow! $7 a point is a great deal! Congrats on that one! I'm sure the sofa beds will be satisfactory, although I've never slept on one at either of those resorts, so I couldn't say for sure. My whole family, including myself, LOVES AKL and it is definitely the family favorite. My personal favorite is the Yacht and Beach Club, so I feel that either way you are making a great choice. The location of the Beach Club really can't be beat, and the awesome atmosphere and lushness of AKL is truly like an African paradise. I agree about the Contemporary and BLT, though. I personally like them, but my Mum doesn't like the modern atmosphere. She prefers unique places or victorian charm. Hope you have an excellent stay at Jambo or the Beach Club and have a magical time! :wizard:

There are also some photos on page 1 of the BC/YC FAQ thread. Click on the link in my signature. The BCV section is the 8th or 9th post on page 1. There is also a lot of info on the thread, and a lot of experts who would be glad to answer your questions. I have only stayed at the BC resort, so I have no direct experience with the villas, but as other posters have indicated, the location of the BC/YC/BCVs are just incredible!

Well this was 2007, and it sounds like they still are pretty much the same. I can say the sofa bed in this pic was the "newer style"-where you pull on that black strap on top, then it all pulls over into the bed-and it was quite comfortable, much improved anyway.

Hello BC/YC fans! I can book a standard room or a studio for the same price. I'm torn as to which to do - has anyone stayed in both that can give me pros & cons? It will be for 2 nights (probably doing a split stay BC/Poly) - for 2 adults- it's a girls trip.

I realize they are the same size rooms, and that the studio will have 1 bed & sleeper sofa vs. the 2 beds in a standard room, and that the studio will have a very small kitchenette that the room doesn't. Any other things to consider?

How about location? I see from the map the studios are in the villas section that stick out the front of the resort - so not in the "main" building area near SAB, restaraunts, facing Boardwalk, etc. Is that correct? Will a studio feel far away from everything? How about the walk to Epcot - it looks like the villas section is actually closer to Epcot than the main area of BC, but do you have to walk through the lobby & back over to Epcot - or is there a shortcut our the side?

One more question - after looking at tons of pics here & on AllEars, the decors look different. The rooms seem to have a striped carpet & darker wood & white theme, the studios/villas seem to have a plaid/lighter beachy theme - is this correct that they are different - or did I just see some older pics?

Hi!

I am new to posting on the site, but have been "lurking" for a while! My family is making our annual trip to WDW in November. We are renting a DVC members points and staying in a 2 bedroom villa.

I love looking through all of the pictures, as BC is my favorite resort on Disney property. Last year we stayed in a concierge level room, and I loved the high end bedding and nautical colors. Looking at the pictures from the villas, it seems like a downgrade in bedding and furnishing even though you pay so much more to stay in the villa. Please tell me I won't regret making the choice to rent a villa?!?!

What are those rooms like? How comfotable are those murphybeds? Will my tall friend fit (he's 6'4'')? Does anyone have pics?
