Does anyone know what time they have story time at AKL in the evenings? We're thinking of going on a Friday night after our Boma reservations.

Thanks in advance!

I believe it was 6 pm when we were there. There were only 6 of us there that night. Our story teller was amazed because she said it's usually a big crowd. You can check at the front desk before going into Bomas for dinner. Try to get there before all the big rockers are taken. Also be sure to wear bug repellent or Avon's "skin so soft". We got several mosquito bites. This was fun but we were disappointed in the story. If you hear the same one we heard it only took 10 mins. and was a very common children's book. I doubt it was a true African tale. Best part was when storyteller has a brief Q & A session about her homeland.

Hi,
We just returned, and it was at 6:30 during our stay:)

Any other DISer's have feedback on the story telling at AKL? Is it worth the time?

I would also love to see some feedback on this subject from recent visitors as I am trying to book our priority seating around it. I can see that it is held at 6:30 - which seems early to me and also conflicts with an average dinner time. I guess I'm most interested in how long it is and if the stories change frequently. Any replies are appreciated.:D

The whole thing took 20-25mins.at the most. Probably lasts a little long when crowd is bigger and more questions are asked about storyteller's home. After reading my earlier post on this topic I felt I may have sounded too negative. It was a lot of fun just sitting outside around the fire and finding out in Africa our hostess would have had to drive in her car for almost 2 hours to see a scene similar to what the AKL guests could see from their balconies. The lighting and the beautiful bldg. made it very memorable.
