View Full Version : Cost for 16-18 people Escape package?

I just read on magicalkingdoms.com in the FAQ section:

Can we invite more than eight guests?

Up to 20 people (including the bride and groom) can attend an Escape wedding, subject to location, but it will cost more.

So does this mean that more than 8 guests is more $$ than the $4000 base quote? I was under the impression that $4000 covers up to 20 guests (including bride & groom).

Can someone clarify this?

Thanks!

The only added expense we had was for an extra bottle of champagne and we had Sprite for the kids' bubbly. We did a few other upgrades, but to just add more people, the beverages were the only additional expense. The package comes with 1 bottle of champagne. Water is also available (at no cost !!!).

Hi poohbear,

I know what you mean, all these websites are very ambiguous to me, however i view this as:

The price for the location starts at $4,000 (however remember to add 6.5% sales tax to that price and im still trying to figure out if the 20% service tax goes onto that too)

When they say it costs more, i think they are talking about the additional elements (such as extra bouquets and boutonnieres, as only bride and grrom inc in base price... extra bottles of cuvee for the toast as the bottle supplied is based on the smallest number of guests) things like that really.

I totally didnt even think about the tax side of things so that's totally thrown my numbers out.

I feel another headache coming on but im sure we'll get there in the end ;)

I hope that helps anyway

Yes, the info is very ambiguous-I'm guessing we'll get more info once we contact the WP.

As for the Escape book-make sure you are in the Escape package section of the website. When you click on Escape Wedding, you will see a link for Wish Book posted as the last option.

I goofed up the first time and opened a Custom planning book by accident.

BTW, it's worth your while to search through these as well because they provide additional photos for upgraded flowers and stuff.

Post here again if you are still unable to do it!

Hi Poohbear,

Ive found it yeah!!

I cant believe i missed it before :clown:

Surely there must be more things to add than what is on there lol

Ive just done my selections and it's come in at $5,500!

I know that's not including a reception and hair and make up etc but i am thinking that maybe the reception can come in under $10,000 now?

I should go to bed but im hooked lol

Thanks for your help

Nicola

I did exactly the same! I've jsut tried it in the Escape section and still get the Wishes wish book, even if I register with a different email address.

Can you give me any tips please? What have I done wrong?

Hi Beep,

Glad it's not just me :lmao:

When you click on wish book and sign in... it will take you to the normal page that has the pic of the guest book.

Where you already have a line that says "my custom wishbook" look above that and there is a section that says create an intimate wish book

click on "create my intimate wishbook" and it will load another heading under your custom wishbook link for the intimate wishbook link.

And then you're away!

Hope that helps... let me know the difference to wishes ;)

out of interest do any of you know if you have to pay the 20% service charge for the venue hire on top of the 6.5% sales tax?

im trying to get my sums right

is it $5,000 + 6.5% or $5,000 + 6.5% + 20%?

damn tax grrr!

As far as I'm aware 20% service charge is just for any food, just think of it as a tip. I'm not sure if this is added to an escape package as you only have a cake.

oh right ok, i read on mouseweddings.com that it is on all additional extra's but maybe it's the 6.5% that's on everything and like you said 20% on food and beverage... that would certainly help my numbers.

If anyone knows and can confirm this for me it would be appreciated.

I hadn't thought about 6.5% tax on top of the $4000! So is that an extra $260?

I still can't get onto the escape wish book, I always end up in the wishes one - even dumber blonde!

I have a wish book for all three options(wishes, escape and DCL)!!!

I think I went into each section and did the create a wishbook from there.

As we are thinking about a VR(really still in the long term 6yrs out, but my sister has already bought a dress and has been bugging me about shoes).:headache: :headache:

Initially thought escape, then Lurkyloo's Epcot extravaganza had DH thinking about that. Then I can't remember her name, but someone is doing a DCL do, and gosh you seem to get more bang for your buck with a DCL wedding than an Escape.

i agree, i was really interested in a DCL wedding but you can only have ten guests and we have more than that so it's out for us. i think a DCL may work out more expensive for your guests though.

yes chilly all prices quoted are without the taxes, which another UK bride very kindly reminded me of yesterday, so my budget is completely out of the window as it's all wrong and ive got to start again! :scared1:

This Disney bride is having more than 10 on her DCL wedding, take a look at her PJ(link posted below). She's the one that got me into looking at DCL.

On my contract the $5000 (i'm doing a WP Ceremony) includes taxes and fees already, so the 6.5% is just applied on the individual extra elements or on the individual elemens on a Wishes Wedding.
