View Full Version : Please post new AP rate, dates & resort
I'm having an awful time with April AP discounts, like so many of you, so let's see who was successful.....
April 10-13, POR standard, $145.12 per night with tax
April 13-18, WL courtyard, $246.37 per night with tax
I am so NOT thrilled because I don't want to split stay. I want WL for our entire trip. How about all of you? What do you have and are you still waiting and hoping?

So far, nothing available for me April 17-24.
We're booked at WL and would ideally stay there, but would switch to almost any other deluxe if it meant saving $$ or upgrading for no more $$. No switching 'cause we're doing the DDP. Two days ago, CBR and SSR were available, I wasn't interested, so I didn't ask prices...now they're gone, too.
I DO have hope, though, and if nothing opens up, I'm still going!!:)
iloveeeyore, I hear you! This morning when I called, the CM told me it's still early and more options will open up. I know they can only speculate, but she sure made my day!
Interesting so far....keep 'em coming!

Did anyone get a savannah view at AKL for either April or May???

I haven't heard of many people getting this and I've been trying to follow all the AP threads. :sad2:
I'm hoping they are holding out some rooms and will eventually release them to us.

I'm afraid that because of the construction they are just doing standard view. I have not booked there because I'm worried about ending up with a construction view. I have never heard of so many discounts on a standard view at the AK since there are not that many standard views. There's definitely something fishy going on here!

Ahh, I get what you're saying. Yes, sounds like something fishing going on! I have been an AP holder for 4 years now and this April has been the toughest time I've had getting a discount. At least I'll know for the future to *try* to stick with value season.

I think part of the problem too is that Easter is so early and Spring Breaks are a bit odd this year. That is why we are going as late as we can this spring and then will go again when school is back in session for our 2nd trip this year.
Although we are lucky and can be more flexible than most since we are only an hour and a half away. We are going to Epcot tomorrow for the day in fact.

I thought I was the only person who thought something has to be up with that... I don't want to pull out the tinfoil hat, but seriously, this is too strange.
And FWIW, I stayed at the AKL last november in a Savannah view room facing the construction. It wasn't terrible at first, but by the second day, we realized we hadn't seen that many animals... So we asked to switch to the Arusha Savannah and it was much better!
That being said, there are STILL more rooms facing the Arusha savannah and the one that's on the zebra trail (Sunset savannah?) than standard rooms...

I'm going solo and got POFQ with DDP for May 3rd-10th for $1305.49.
I was also offered:
AKL standard view with DDP for $1558.58
AKL standard room only for $1291.50
PORS standard room only for $1038.36
AS Movies preferred room only for $702.86
AS Sports Standard room only for $630.54
The funny thing is, that I booked AS Sports the day the code came out, then decided to upgrade to PORS. When I called early the next morning, PORS was no longer available and the CM told me that neither PORS or CSR had been included in the AP discounts this year (only CBR and POFQ). When I told him I had received a quote the day before for PORS he said he didn't know how, as it had not been included for AP discounts.

What's AP? There are so many abbreviations used on this board! We're going for a week in May and are flexible as to dates. Any tips for getting a great deal? I have a quote from AAA, but want to explore other deals.
Thanks.

AP= Annual Pass, APs allow you to book discounted rates at resorts if available.

Okay, all you DIS veterans out there, I need some advise. We have been going at least twice a year for the past couple of years and have plans to continue. Is it worth being an AP holder? Are the discounts worth the extra money up front? For our family of four it looks like it would be about 800.00 more than the five day park hopper we have booked for July. Any advise?:confused3

Add us to the list for AKL standard view. Arriving 4/28 for 7 nights with dining, room ended up being about $184 a night on average. It does seem fishy, I'm wondering if they are actually putting all of us over in the savannah area where the construction is because there are no animals there right now?? That would explain why there are so many standard view rooms available with the AP rate. Disney might think that's the best way to fill those useless rooms. They obviously can't put people paying for Savannah over there. I guess we can't complain if we get a savannah view upgrade with no animals since we didn't pay for them in the first place.
We actually don't want standard view anyway, we just took it because that was all they had left. I keep checking back for availability. Our first choice was CR, they had nothing, then we wanted WL, all they had was CYBB for like $294 a night, which I think is absolutely insane for WL. Totally not worth that much. We even checked the Epcot resorts and they were booked too. Couldn't get Poly. I think they did have GF but it was like $480 a night even with the AP, so I'm not shelling out that much! ;)
Man I miss the good ole days. Just a couple of years ago you could easily get WL for 129 a night with an AP and Poly or an Epcot resort for like 199. I guess those days are gone. :sad2:

Mikidisney-you only need 1 AP for your family to take advantage of the discounts. We are a family of 5;and I have an AP for the perks while the rest of my family gets regular PH tix. Hope this helps!

Glad to help! The only time everyone needs to have the same tix is on a package stay. Using an AP is a room only stay;but I know you can now add the dining plan to that.

So what happens if we have already booked and an ap rate comes out for that time. Do we have a chance of losing our ressie if we switch from MYW package to room only for the discount? Or can we just switch the same ressie over?

We too had a package booked for the same dates @ the POLY and when the AP rates came out; I had to cancel original reserv. and then rebook and pay 1 nites rate and then will receive the refund of the $200 deposit. Does that make sense? But now I don't have to pay the package off by the end of March; just pay the room balance on checkin. I'll just order everyone's tickets thru the WDW ticketstore. Hope that helps!
