I do believe I have had a milepost or two. I'm sure some one is keeping track.

However, the pirates did come out and grab it.

Yall must be out in the boonies! How are the chickens doing lately? I have not heard you speak of them? Oh yeah, who is going to take care of the animals while yall are gone? :confused3
We ARE out in the boonies. Our address is on 000 E Rd, and the town where the post office is located is about 8 miles from our house. The house down the road has a completely different address and different post office. The 5 chickens that we have left are just fine. We have someone coming over to mow the grass and take care of the fish, chickens, cats and cockatiels. The dogs are going to the kennel, as they need daily care. The rest can go 2 or 3 days at a time.

They will fall apart right afte the All Star break, trust me it happens every year..don't have to wait until Sept. I have been watching them long enough to know when they fall apart

Does the arcade take 'real' quarters, tokens, or just cards?? Trying to give the kids a VERY small arcade allowance... I don't want to bring quarters if they can't use them.

And on the $$ subject... Left-Right-Center... dimes, nickels, or quarters????

Amanda, some of us have talked about just going to do our own thing at each of the ports - taking local transportation to the beaches and enjoying some relaxing time there. (Well, as relaxing as it gets with a 5 year old.) I'll let you know what Jim & I decide on, and you're welcome to join us if you want!

The arcade is done on cards only.

As for left-right-center. I think when I played with Karen & family on the 10 day it was dimes. I'm up for that or whatever anyone else wants.

Thanks, Mary... I figured it was quicker to post my question here than to actually search on "arcade" on the cruise threads... and I was right!

So we can buy a card for him with a set amount on it, or is it only on the KTTW cards? (His WON'T be active for charging!!!!)

I vote for dimes... they don't weigh as much as quarters... and they fit in the tube.

Yes - you can put what you want on the card (well $5 or $10 I think). You buy the cards in the arcade with your room card.....

After the party went to pick up DD from a sleepover party, drop the guys at the field, home to drop DD so she could shower and rest up before her Jazz recital tonight, but she watched TV all afternoon :sad2: , to the baseball to watch the game which had a rain delay and DH wanted chairs so back home to get chairs, a stop for coffee and back to the field, home for a 1/2 hour and then we are off to the recital :teeth: :teeth: :teeth: I'm tired now and ready for bed but no chance of that!!! :teeth: :teeth:

I measured all of the body parts on their chart and bought the dress that would fit me. I got it on over my head, but it would NOT go on over my hips....not even close. And when I looked at the hip measurement they gave, I shold have had an inch or two extra room. I ended up returning it and they weren't so pleased b/c their website touts that their measurements are accurate.

We just had the discussion today in the car how this needs to be a MUCH lighter trip in terms of packing. We hope to get it down to one garment bag instead of two.

Busy day today, but didn't get much done. Ballet this morning for 2 1/2 hours. Then off to a HORRIBLE lunch at Lone Star (which we ended up getting free we had such a horrible time) Then to Toys R Us to get birthday presents for great nephew (that went well) To see RV and then to Target to get stuff that is all backordered at Lands' End and LLBean---totally struck out there. Must go to mall tomorrow and try again.

Anywhere from arts and crafts store to Walmart to drugstore. It is in a brown round bottle (like a BIG bottle of Tylenol.) It is sold in the school supply section or an arts and crafts section. More reliable than a double sided sticky tape for science and reading fair projects! ;)

Anyone have any suggestions on activites for two. We have never left the kids behind and have no idea what to do.... I bet we sleep for the first two days. Kids have not let us sleep throught the night in the last (i don't know) fourteen years :bounce:

Hi guys -- I am just checking in after being gone almost all day long today. Left the house at about 7:30 to head to the mall. Found hubby a new suit, shirts and ties at Penney's. Then spent about 1 1/2 at Alltell picking out a new cell phone. I got the newest motorola (not a razor) but it has a camera and video and mp3 player all built in. I have to buy a memory card for it, but it has it's own slot. Got to come home for about 45 minutes before having to go and buy present for birthday party for Ashley's friend. Got back home and and 30 minutes before my hair appointment. Got some curl put back in my hair (mainly just wave), then went and picked up pizza and the girls from the bd party at 6, ran home and then left again for the dance recital that we went to tonight. First year Ashley has not been in it since she was little. Her best friend was in it and it was hard for Ashley to watch it and not be participating. She was upset with me that I didn't let her do it this year. I was just worried that with starting middle school and band and then with her swimming, she was over-extending. So, we are going to reenroll for a summer class that starts the week before we come back from vacation and see how it goes., anyway, didn't get home till about 9:20. What a long day and I didn't get any packing or anything else done for that matter.

Dancind
05-14-2006, 12:46 AM
They're actually cooking demonstrations. I'm thinking they give you the recipe. I'm positive that you get to try the food, and any accompanying adult beverages. We went to one that included Port. I'm wondering if they're going to do one with Martinis, those are fun.

We used to teach adults to partner dance. You'd be amazed at how many people cannot tell right from left. Our trick was to tell them to put their hands up in front of their face, palms out, with the thumbs pointing at each other. The one that makes an "L" is your LEFT! If they couldn't remember at that point which way an L faces, we knew we were really in trouble!

Oh, yes, I've been getting that attitude from ds11 here, too. I found his good khaki pants wadded up in his closet as we were getting ready for band concert, so threw them in the dryer to de-wrinkle. He was waiting, and I handed him some t-shirts from the dryer and told him to put them on hangers. He said No, he didn't LIKE to do that, so I just dropped them on the floor and told him that's where he could find them. I eventually made him hang them up, but I was ticked off the rest of the evening.

I think I am starting to get a bit worried about not having enough stuff done. The good thing is that I am taking the day off of work before we actually leave, but I really wish I was better organized at this point. I have got to get some stuff to the cleaners on Monday. At this point, I think I need to just sit and make a list of what has and what has not been done. I have to still find time to get out to the winery to pick up the wine we want.

Maybe we can do that this afternoon when we go to Las Cruces to spend Mother's Day with Charley's mom. It is almost an hour drive to LC, and the winery is about half/way there. That would save me a trip next weekend.

I still haven't finished the door signs or found the magnetic stuff to put on the backs of them.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

Rad,Residence/priceline??? sigh..I decided on RAD but there was no availabilty...then I was going to do RES Inn...but got to thinking the rate was $159 and there is no shuttle...did I really want to pay that for a bed to sleep in? NAH We are spending FRI in the parks and wont head over to CCB til late...so priceline it is...could not get a room! Amanda -- what did you have to pay for the La Quinta? Will you just leave your car at the port?? Just curious
Pam it was $94 on hotwire but it came to 109 with taxes...I was not real happy with the price seeing as I could have gotten a room much cheaper in MCO..BUT we will be able to sleep in a bit later on Sat morning and relax b4 heading to the port. Usually we drive over, and I am so anxious to get there and excited that I wake up at the crack of dawn! LOL We will still leave the car at the port (yikes $84) will end up costing us a total of $193 which is more then the Res Inn, but not too much more for the convience of not having to deal with luggage in a shuttle on the day of disembarktion. And not having to wait for shuttle to get to port. I called RI last night, and she reccommmended a shuttle but it did not start until after 12... PS my offer extends to those needing a ride post cruise as well....Dont feel hestitant to ask..just ask if you need it. We can works something out. Thats what friends are for..

So, let me get this straight... you are willing to drive an hour north, pick up the 4 of us and all of our luggage, drop the dog at the kennel, wave at the Scubas on the way by, and head back down to the port in time to be first in line... how sweet of you... :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Happy Mother's Day to all of the moms!

We went to dinner last night. Bruce got the girls all dressed up & ready to go. As we were ready to head out, they each gave me a bunch of daisies. I cried. We went to Macaroni Grill & had a nice time. Today for lunch, we had the leftovers. I've been doing laundry most of the day & he's been keeping the girls occupied. When it's nap/rest time, I'm heading to the mall by myself. :Pinkbounc

In another year or so, he will turn into a "clothes hound" like Jared. The kid wants all of his shirts to look 'just right'.....so that will be one less "attitude" you'll get.

In another year or so, he will turn into a "clothes hound" like Jared. The kid wants all of his shirts to look 'just right'.....so that will be one less "attitude" you'll get.

Matt has yet to find that attitude. He still does not care what floor pile his clothes come from. :confused3

Today he wore tennis shoes to church because he could not find real shoes. He looked a little funny being an usher in his tennis shoes, but he did not care. I guess that is a good attitude.....real, real, real laid back.

We plan on wearing our shirts to the port and then the DIS meet. We'll change before the drill so we can go right from sailaway to dinner (thinking we'll have the early 5:30 seating).

We are also planning on wearing our 10 day shirts on Friday to JB's and the Radisson so that we'll be easy to spot!

Great Plan!!! We might do the same.

Sharon still has not heard about gym on that Friday night so we don't know if she will be joining us or not.
