FUnny you should say that. One of my longstanding rules is not to buy wine from men in speedos....especially if they are selling it out of their trunk. :)

Did you see who also is on the list for wine - Bear!
Yeah, I did see that. But didn't think that much of it since I know you and Mark don't drink. Thought maybe Bear did. :)

Actually, they probably say that a lot at JBs.
It's when I'm at the port with 6 cases of wine that I start to worry, but for the group it's worth it!!!
So are you going to break your personal record of 26 bottles???

So far, no surprises here for Mother's Day. I did hear someone say that since there are already 2 dozen roses in the house from Jordan's birthday, we don't really need any more....
I have a feeling it's going to be Taco Bell again this year.
Sorry to hear. We do a few things around here to make it a special day.
The fun part of the day is watching Sharon pack for the cruise. That is her favorite thing to do all year and it's great to see it happening on Mothers Day.
Matt is actually cleaning his room today. I agreed to cook dinner if he would clean. I guess he got a little nervous when I threatned to post a picture of his clothes piles.

Mary and Mark, thanks for posting on your website. I just assumed you wanted the bottle for Bear since neither of you drink. Maybe he can share with KT.
Or maybe he and Nicole can have a little date night?!?!??!

I'm not even sure Nicole is cruising with us this time. It's always a last minute decision as the kids hold up 3 stuffed animals and we look at them and say "ONE." Then they have to look back and forth at each animal and decide who goes and who stays home to party! :)
A U TOP shared with Mary, Bear and Nicole! :)

Fun Mother's Day here. Got up and opened my gifts. I got a new spice rack system (my cupboard is overflowing,) Waffle Stick maker (that's what's for dinner,) and a Razor Scooter in GREEN! (that was Nick's pick) :)
Then we went to church and out to the Japanese Steak House. Then to the mall and I was successful in getting KT a bathing suit that FITS both the top half AND the bottom half! :) Got a few more things we needed. Nick decided on a bow tie for formal night.
And now we're home and I'm cleaning up the house and doing laundry. :) Ah, the joys of motherhood. Wouldn't trade it for the world. :) I don't need flowers or a nap or anything special....cuz then I'd just want that EVERY DAY! :)

Good afternoon everyone. Sorry I'm late but....
Happy Mother's Day
To all you mothers out there. Hope you're having a great day. I got taken out for breakfast this morning and then we went and bought some flowers. Hubby and DS planted the flowers for me and weeded my rock garden. What a nice day it is turning out to be. Weather stinks but I'm relaxing. Did some ironing though, but otherwise, I have the day off. Lovin' it. We were going to go out for dinner, but my little guy is a little warm and I want him to rest and get into bed early. School tomorrow and I need to start packing with determination now. We leave in 10 more days. OMG...almost single digits for us. I can't believe it. I can't wait either.

Today he wore tennis shoes to church because he could not find real shoes. He looked a little funny being an usher in his tennis shoes, but he did not care. I guess that is a good attitude.....real, real, real laid back.

Some of you that have left your cars at the Rad at the Port before probably have already heard about the ant problem, but to people that haven't...Be careful and don't leave ANY food in your car while you are gone because there is a serious problem of ants getting into cars that are parked in the field. I wouldn't want anybody to have to deal with that when they get off the ship! :thumbsup2

Mothers Day here was great. Matt gave me his FCAT writing score - IT WAS GREAT!!!!! (A truly "sylvan" moment - I cried) and he cleaned his room. Jim has my reaction on video. I have been "begging" him for months to do this, do this was a wonderful surprise.
Lisa (with Jim's help) got the Poster we had made of her at her Regional Competion (I wish there was some way to post it). It features her "saluting" so you can see her straight on and then four other action shots (Split Leap at 180; a pose from her floor routine, at the top of her giant on the bar and in flight twising on her bar dismount)
For dinner we had steaks, capri salad, asparagus and for dessert - peanut butter brownies - YUM YUM

Had a nice Mother's Day here too... Started last night when we went out to dinner with my parents and grandmother. Jim and Erin had gone out in the afternoon and gotten all the moms pink roses, which Erin distributed with great pride. When we got home, Erin spent the night in my mom's room instead of ours. (She usually sleeps in her sleeping bag in our room when we're at my parents' house, and her tossing and turning keeps me up for half the night.) We spent the morning with my parents, had a yummy lunch, and then headed for home. Tonight we went to my favorite Italian restaurant for dinner, and Erin was SO well behaved! :goodvibes Such a little lady! And the day ended perfectly when she went to bed really well too. Ah...
The only downer to the day was on the way home when Jim and I talked about how poorly Uno is doing. We hadn't taken him to my parents' in about a year, and this trip really showed us how much he's changed. The sad thing is, he's not sick! He has the canine version of MS, but other than that, he's really healthy (which is amazing for a 14-year-old Lab). But he has a lot of trouble getting up, his back legs don't work too well, so he walks funny and can't really sit anymore. But he's not in pain. So it's a hard place to be. We know we're going to probably have to make some really hard decisions over the summer, and we're not looking forward to it. And to have this talk on Mother's Day, when for 14 years I've thought of him as my "baby," - that was really tough. :sad1:
Heavy sigh...

Watching Survivor, on the reunion now. Loved Cirie getting the fishing trophy.
Well, my Mother's Day was pretty much childless. She had a full social day, and Dad was nice enough to do most of the driving. She did manage to carve out an hour to have breakfast with us, though. Hope those finals go well, or there may not be much social life this summer!
I did get flowers yesterday, but I think that was mostly Dad. Ah well, they get more sentimental when they get older, right? I have a nice poem on my wall from 3rd grade though!

This is exactly why I didn't get online until it was all over. But you did a great job especially w/o the white writing!

CRUISE QUESTION:
Has anyone looked at or done the Tequila Tasting?
I'm considering it, but can not find out much about it. I've done the wine tasting and have enjoyed it.
We did the tequila tasting with Fran and Dave on the West Coast cruise last year. We had a great time, however, as for the tasting......I do like margaritas, but not tequila alone. I personally couldn't tell a huge difference between them....it's not like buying a better grade of tequila would have me doing shots :teeth: They all tasted so similar I didn't feel like we'd really tried anything special. I guess I was expecting some variety somehow. DH is asleep so I can't ask him his opinion. We did do the martini tasting with some other DISrs. We really enjoyed that. There were 5 martini's sampled. The only one I didn't care for was the gin one - basically an original martini. The other 4 were made with vodka instead of gin. We missed the beer and wine tasting for some reason.

I had a nice Mothers Day. DS16 gave me a card and 3 roses he actually bought himself. He makes his own card - it's always on a white piece of paper folded in 4ths. He writes whatever message (i.e. Happy Mothers Day) and draws 3 balloons - he's done that for as long as I can remember (minimal effort). Well this card today was missing the balloons. And - it said.......Happy Birthday! He also didn't sign it. I just smiled and said thank you :confused3 He had just handed me 3 roses, I didn't want to spoil that :goodvibes DS13 made one too - it was 2 tone blue (my favorite color). I caught him this morning - but didn't let on I saw it. We had a couple of errands to take care of, then we went to see Poseiden at a theatre with IMAX. It was o.k. - not great. Josh Lucas is always worth watching in my book :thumbsup2 I don't know if it was a good idea to see it 2 weeks before going on a cruise though :) Then, we went out to dinner.
I did have DS's try on all their pants to see if I needed to shop for some for the trip. I think we're o.k. I'd better get moving on this packing business :goodvibes

Well that's a switch, huh? Bet those kids were happy about the rain. It's not that bad here. NJ gets it bad with flooding and certain parts of NY. Some roads that Augie takes in the morning to work were flooded on Friday and actually stalled his truck out. He has an F-150, too. Must've been a good puddle or should I say lake across the road. That would be the Bronx River Parkway - the oldest Parkway in the country. Floods all the time.

Hey everyone!
Hope you had a great Mother's day! I did -and it caught me by surprise. Usually Mother's day is just another day here- well except for the lovely homemade stuff the kids make for me which is always plenty enough for me- my favorite gifts! DH knows I think cards and flowers are such a waste of money (can you tell who is the tightwad of this family? LOL) but he ignored that this year- card and dozen roses and he took us out to eat last night! Too expensive for my blood but we enjoyed it and I wasn't about to rain on his parade and veto the eating out thing. LOL
I received my docs the other day- I did have to email my TA to ask about them though- but they came within a few days after emailing them!
I received the shirts and the excursion bag also. The shirts are so nice and so is the bag! The bag is bigger than I thought- poor DH... I'm sure I'll have it filled to the gills (so to speak) and he'll be the one lugging it around. LOL The shirts are really cool- y'all did a fantastic job on them! The kids shirts are way way huge- nothing a few washes and drying on hot won't correct though I'm sure. The adult shirts a wee bit on the small side- but still wearable. Just don't make fun of us in our tight shirts and we'll be fine, mkay? LOL I'm glad we went with tees- the polos might have been even tighter! :)
Did anyone have any ideas on where to go to get some beer and perhaps a little "other" alcohol on the way to GF? We get a grocery shop on the way to GF before the cruise and we'd like to know the best place to go (read: cheapest) instead of just going wherever the limo driver wants to take us. LMK by PM if you have any ideas? :confused3
If anyone has dived with Martin before- aren't you supposed to get some voucher thing? We sent our deposit ages ago and received the confirmation email but everytime I email Martin about the voucher he responds in a way that doesn't really answer my question. I thought the website said something about a voucher- not sure how we get that or if it's necessary to have with us when we get there. ??
Hope everyone has a great day today! Y'all talk too much for me to keep up- for real. LOL

OH MY, that looks like quite a horror story, doesn't it? And I really like Denny, looks like he will not be a regular. I was somewhat distracted trying to figure out where I knew the restaurant manager from. Finally got it, he's a recurring character on Veronica Mars.

Yesterday we were going through the girls' coloring book drawer & I came across their DCL ones (thanks again to Amanda). There is a pirate one in there that I think I can use for a pirate night door sign. There are some others that would make good signs but I can't wrap myself up in any more!!! I guess I'll either just use the real coloring page or scan it then color it on the computer.
Printed out my "newspaper" one this morning on parchment paper. If I do say so myself, it looks pretty darn cool!

I have taken mine on our cruises, but I was kinda thinking of not taking it this time. I haven't decided. I just keep it in the case until I use it for whatever; downloading pics or watching a movie. It is a hassle for me since I carry it and another carry-on bag and I know that I will have to stop, take it out, and turn it on before boarding. Just so that I can download some pics. i think I might just buy a MUCH smaller portable DVD player and another memory card for the camera! :thumbsup2

Yup, personally I don't even put my jewlery in the safe. Just shove it in with everything else in the steamer trunk. Really the only ppl with access to the room are the room stewards and I trust them. :)
The only things I have disappear on our cruises were door magnets. In fact, I was just gathering our old magnets (we're reusing the pirate ones from the 10 day even though my parents won't be here this time) and I couldn't find my green Home Depot Mickey head magnet with my name. And then I remembered. Mine (and ONLY mine) was stolen on our last cruise. :(

By Thursday I meant Thursday before cruise. I would really be panicking if it was this Thursday! Just clarifying. LOL
I do have some stuff set aside or like clothing hung up seperately for the cruise- but still have some shopping to do (especially for my fat butt- didn't lose the weight I wanted to before this cruise- and for my eldest who decided to grow AND finally gain some weight right before this cruise. Even the stuff I bought her just over a month ago- for this cruise- are too small for her now! And she's hard to shop for... hard to find things to fit her butt/thighs yet not fall off her at the waist. LOL) and then pack everything up. I tend to wait until pretty much the last minute to pack anyway though- for all our trips. It just works better for me- I hate packing things and then either repacking or having to dig things out of the suitcases that are needed before the cruise and whatnot. I'll start packing clothes once they are all purchased- then I'll finish packing and pack the toiletries and such usually the night before we leave.
I'm mostly panicking about the shopping... I still have nothing to wear (that fits my size at the moment *sigh*) for semi/formal nights! Have long black skirt- need "formal" type blouse or something to go with it. I'm off to go shopping for a few hours right now. LOL

A little worried about Elvis, our cat. He's going on a year now with a heart condition, he's been hanging in there. He had a bad spell last week, and we thought we were going to lose him. But he rallied, he's eating again, and being annoying again (which means he feels better). He can't stand being alone, and he can't eat hard food anymore. Susan, we always bring ours. (I like working on our pictures during the trip so I don't have hundreds to do when I get home, and I also use it for my trip journal.) If we hide it at all, which we rarely do, we usually put it in our suitcase under our laundry. We've taken it on all of our Disney trips, and have never had a problem.

We have a housesitter, and I hope she's here every night because he needs fresh food and a lot of lap time.
Here's some pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:for Elvis. We're dealing with an aging/ailing pet as well, and I know how that goes. I hope he's OK while you're gone.

Go to Target. I found shorts for Lisa that have elastic in the waistband that is adjustable. This was great for Lisa since she is built like a gymnast / dancer - tiny waist and large thighs. She wears a 7 for the legs, but probably a 5 for her waist. Good Luck.
Old Navy carries a pretty large line of adjustable waistband clothing for kids. And now, this year, Lands' End is too. (can't remember if LLBean is too, but could be)
A few years ago I complained to Lands' End and LLBean that they didn't have anything in slim (well, Lands' End did, but it was old raggedy jeans)....the both wrote back and said "with the childhood obesity problem, we don't sell enough slim clothes to make it worthwhile....but check out our extensive plus size selections."
Well, DUH....if the REGULAR clothes don't fit my skinny-minnie, I don't think the plus sized clothes are an option!!

I'd be so grateful if it arrives by Saturday! Something for me to read on that long drive down.
We have a 1 gig memory card...I hope that is enough. Jim had a good suggestion regarding the CD burning at the photo shop. I had forgotten that!
What setting do you usually use for image quality? The salesman suggested JPEG Fine at small, medium or large (I forget!). What would you suggest?
We don't "plan" on blowing anything up more than 4X6 (But ya never know when that poster size photo will pop up on your camera!).

It's amazing how much room the pictures can take up on a card. I prefer RAW or Nikon NEF files, but they are huge. On the D200, the uncompressed NEF file is about 16MB. So on trips like this I just shoot JPEG high or fine. It does work well. If there is something that I think needs more, the file type will be changed for those pics and then back to the JPEG.
Do an experiment and change the file format and watch the number of available space change, then decide what might meet your needs. I'm carrying three cards with a total of 8GB and have the option of transferring files to my iPod too.

Target is usually my first shopping choice now- since previous shopping "trips" (spanning months usually) ended up with everything purchased at Target anyway. Last summer/first of school year everything was from Target and all her jeans and shorts from Target were in the BOY'S section, believe it or not. She doesn't do well with just elastic waists because usually in order to get them big enough to not be tight on her butt and/or thighs- the elastic waist is still too big even though it's elastic. She really has athletic thighs (the butt she gets from me LOL) but has such a flat stomach it's ridiculous. Much like you said- a build like a gymnast/dancer but also it's part of going thru puberty-- she already had a flat stomach and now her waist is getting more shapely too (going in). *sigh* Next year in middle school they are required to wear school dress code including polo shirts tucked in and pants must have a belt- she'll do fine then I guess- she can cinch up anything with the belt. LOL
She does best with the jeans/shorts that they have at Target that have the adjustable waists (as you mentioned)- but I'm not sure they make those in larger sizes. We'll have to see.
Unfortunately the problem I'm running into is that she's out of the more popular children's sizes. Now she's in the 12/14 range now (according to her butt, thighs and length of pants/jeans) - she was in size 8 for so long and then zoomed right thru size 10 rather quickly. I'll have to see if they have the larger sizes made with adjustable waists like that- I certainly hope so or I'm in a world of hurt finding her anything to wear, not just for the cruise but period! She can still fit in her size 10 boys jeans but they are getting slightly on the short side. The only reason I'm not buying her more jeans right now is that we're pretty warm here now and already wearing shorts- and who knows how much she'd grow before next year starts again. Everything else (pants, skirts, and shorts) she wears size 12 mostly... with the waist usually too big for her when everywhere else fits without being tight. She's really more difficult to buy for than myself and that's really saying something. LOL Thank goodness the other two are a breeze to buy for- don't even have to try things on!

Wow, that response totally doesn't make sense! I agree with you- big duh there!
And how nice that since there is a childhood obesity problem let's only make clothing to fit obese children- if you aren't obese, you're just SOL? Can you imagine if adult clothing was this way- ONLY plus sized clothes and everyone else can just forget it because it's not worthwhile? I assure you that the obesity problem isn't limited to children, it's adults too, and yet they still make clothing in non-plus sizes for adults. Granted they may be in limited supply- but atleast they are available. How rude to give you a response like smaller sizes aren't worthwhile but suggest you try the plus sizes- as if that would help. I wonder if that was some automated message? Or if someone who is really answering their customer service issues is really that dumb. Sorry we don't have clothes small enough for your child, not worthwhile to do so- but please check out our extensive plus sized clothes? Whatever. LOL

Thank you so much for the links, unfortunately I absolutely MUST have her try things on. I have learned my lesson countless times buying clothing I thought for sure would fit her, even with adjustable waists, and sure enough they didn't and I'd have to return them. I guess I need to try to find a Land's end or LL Bean's store around here. The closest thing we have is 30min away and it's an outlet store- I believe they have both those stores there but being an outlet store I'm not sure they'd have the same items. I may have to drive to the nearest big malls which are an hour's drive each way- which is fine for me but difficult to find the time to drive that much and have the time after she's out of school to take her with me- what with all her after school activities and such. Weekends are busy with soccer games, birthday parties, church and such. There lies my problem. I have all the time in the world to shop during the day without her while the kids are in school- but WITH HER, as is needed to find things that fit her, is difficult. :(

I hear ya there. Words across the butt just do NOT fly with us here. WHY does anyone want to encourage hormonal boys to look at girls' butts? :confused3 We've been striking out getting a good swim suit for KT (as a second swim suit)...we like the tankini style so it's easy to go to the bathroom, but like it to cover a good bit of skin. I have the same problem with Ashley and she is so tall to boot. I usually could find something at Ltd. 2 to fit, but now anymore. If it does fit, it is in a size 7 or 8 and then they are too short. Good thing bermuda shorts are popular, because those in a size 7 or 8 are about right.

Karen, I am the same way- picky about her not wearing "grown up" looking clothes. Besides, next year they have very strict dress code (basically uniform- including no capris, no shorts, pants must be certain length and all one color- can't have any designs, plaids, different colors- jeans can't even be 2 faded jeans color/etc. So she'll have to wear just plain jeans which she usually does- usually the boys ones.

Are you saying you purchased them online and returned to Sears? (the land's end stuff) Even sears is an hour's drive away- might as well go straight to a land's end store if there is one available in the dallas/arlington area where sears is. I'm not into shipping things and paying shipping to me and then to return... I'd be out a fortune doing that considering how many things do not fit her unless she tries them on first. Honestly I really can't figure out WHY she's so hard to get things that fit her- but she is. :(

Yes. The Lands' End stuff can be purchased online and then returned to Sears. You may not want to pay shipping back, but if you consider the price of gas driving 30 minutes or 1 hour each way, shipping back is really cheap (although I NEVER use their preprinted return labels. I put it in my own box and ship it myself for much cheaper.
Usually, b/c KT is hard to fit, I'll put in a huge order which includes duplicates of the same item in different sizes, then decide what I want and return the rest.

I would be fine with it also- except for the fact that I think it's goofy as all get out to have a uniform type dress code only for 7th and 8th grade- nothing before that and not for highschool- just 7th and 8th grade. Stupid IMO.
And also I was told and thought that it was solid polo shirts, everything had to be worn with a belt (that one is for obvious reasons I'm sure) and the shirts had to be tucked in (again for obvious reasons- so it wasn't so short to show belly). Now I went to get the dress code so I could shop over the summer and I'm glad I did! Now I find out the jeans can't be even 2 shades of color- one uniform color (not even if they fade in the wash- and no holes... yes, she's still prone to get tiny holes in the knees occasionally and she'll still wear them- she's a tomboy, what can I say- but now she can't and considering how hard it is to buy for her- now she better stay off her knees and not get holes anymore! LOL She's just too rowdy/rambunctious in gym and recess- she plays like a boy and that's why she ends up with holes in the knees sometimes). Also found out NO capris-no matter even if they are jeans. Any "pants" have to be solid colors also- no plaids, different colors or designs. Dresses can be just above the knee though- so why can't they wear capris if below the knee or ankle length? I have no idea. Oh and belts I thought would be the only way she could wear different things- but nope, they can only be solid colors brown, black or white and no designs or textures or rope-like/braided/etc. Good luck finding a plain white/black or brown belt for someone with a waist as tiny as hers!
Etc. etc.
It was a big more than I expected.... and now all the capris I bought for her to match the solid polo shirts will have to go back to the store- along with the belts we bought to match. And if I find jeans to fit her- I'll have to buy as many as possible- since she can't wear capris and can't have a hole in the knees or anywhere else either. She'll need enough to get her thru the year wearing jeans every day.
Oh and the dresses and skirts have to be solid color too. Skirts might not be too hard- but do you see many solid one color dresses in the 12-14 range? I don't. LOL
Oh and also they can't ever wear anything but the polo shirt. Jackets have to be put in their lockers and if it's cold enough to wear a sweater or sweatshirt they have to be solid colored also (with no design, insignia, etc.) and have to be worn OVER the regular solid one color polo shirt. I haven't seen many solid colored sweaters in her size in my day... and jacket idea is out as she'd have to put it in her locker. LOL (we usually don't buy much winter clothes anyway- not many cold days here so mostly all she needs is l/s shirts and/or a jacket over a shortsleeved shirt- but in middle school she can't wear a jacket since it has to go in her locker).
Again, wouldn't have a problem with this except it's only 7th and 8th grade. This age group, for girls anyway, they usually hit their peak on growing- but you'll have to buy new clothes all over again for 9th grade anyway unless you want your child to be the only one still wearing uniform clothes in 9th grade. She's in intermediate right now (6th grade) and that school is right next to the highschool- you wouldn't BELIEVE the stuff those highschoolers wear. Personally I think the uniform dress code is needed just as much in highschool as it is in middle school, if not more so. Just my opinion though.
Ps. next size up doesn't always work for older children. I'm not sure what age you're talking about but sure- buying bigger sizes in uniforms would work fine right now like with my 5yr old and 8yr old- but when you get into the older kids and going thru puberty and such, you can't really depend on them wearing just the next size up... they may get curves, they may gain weight especially if they are rail thin right now like my eldest is, they could shoot up bigtime -especially boys- and skip that size completely. Trust me- I know. When I found Old Navy (boys) jeans that fit my eldest in size 8- I bought about 10prs of size 10... learned my lesson the hard way there- she shot right past size 10 before ever getting to wear them. By the time they fit her in the butt/thighs/waist- they were too short for her. I still have them in a bin somewhere with tags still on them. Since they are boys jeans I'm hoping my 8yr old might fit them someday. LOL

Isnt that the language the Charlize Theron uses? I have hear dher speak it and it sounds so beautfil!
Yes she is Afrikaans speaking and English was her second language where we are English speaking but had to learn Afrikaans as our second language at school, everyone had to do a second language for all 12 years of school. TV was also in both, they would alternate each night with 1/2 the programming in each and we hated when it was Afrikaans first as by the time English came on it was bedtime!!! :lmao:

I was awakened by Emily at the same time! She was complaining of a stomach ache & headache... she didn't have fever. I gave her Motrin & told her to go back to sleep. Hope she makes it all day at school today. If I didn't have my appt. today, I may have kept her home.

Strange..Taylor woke me up at about midnight saying she did not feel well! Thank God she made it to the toilet!

My kids are in elementary school and have worn uniforms since preschool. We still have several years left in uniforms.

I agree, and luckily my daughter and youngest son can be bought for that way. Not DSa10.
I hope your other does grow into them!

We have a housesitter, and I hope she's here every night because he needs fresh food and a lot of lap time.
Poor Kitty - it is amazing how much they become a part of our lives....

I had a college prof that taught me some Afrikaans. He was trying to teach me about how difficult communication and comprehension could be but he had to use a language that I wouldn't know. Since he couldn't use French, Spanish, or English with me, he chose Afrikaans (he had learned it in the Peace Corps). It was so cool. One of my favorite lessons to this day.
How cool! A UTOP with my favorite prof and LANGUAGES!

Thanks, I hope so too.
As for the rest of your post- that doesn't show up in quote since you interjected your comments in my quote (LOL)- I wouldn't mind if elementary here had uniform type dress code either. I just think it's silly to only do it for 7th & 8th grade then apparently turn them loose to wear whatever in highschool. Honestly I'm embarrassed that my daughter (and other kids her age in 5th and 6th grade in the Int. school right next to the highschool) get to see how those highschoolers are dressed. I just don't get why they only do it in middle school for 7th/8th grade and that's it.
In elementary schools here they do have a dress code- it's just not quite as strict as middle school- not like a uniform but with lots of rules that they are strict on enforcing.

BTW,
Are any of you bringing a laptop along?
How do you suggest securing it in the stateroom? (It will not fit in the room-safe)
I posted this question on the main cruise board and have had some looks, but no answers??!!
susan
Doing the Virgil thingie to answer this one. We have taken our laptop on several of our cruises and have left them on the desk top in the room and never had any problems with it going amiss.

Long day here. My blood donation was scheduled for today so wouldn't you know that I also ended up with two press ok's as well. Busy busy busy. Did make it to the blood donation so at least I got that done since it will be a year now before I can give again. I wanted to make sure I got a donation in to honor GaRry.
On the way back to the office I decided to run past home to see if our box came. As I'm passing the church at the end of our block I see the FedEx ground truck on the side street. Get to our house and nothing on the front porch, go around back and nothing there. Darn! So I start to back out of the driveway to head back to work and the FedEx truck pulls up. We have our shirts and bag. Very nice!
So I didn't get as much done today as I would have liked but still a good day.

I liked it when ds had uniforms at the private school he attended K-2. It made getting dressed in the mornings much easier. But to this day he hates to wear polo shirts because of his bad experiences at that school. We just bought him one for the cruise; first one he'll wear in 3 years.

It is easy and we never have to argue with them as to what they can or can't wear - they know the rules and if they want to wear something they can, they are just easy going about it - luckily for me!!!

Jared has that same tall, skinny problem, but it's easier to get slim pants for boys.
It was always terribly difficult to get clothing for Megan. She's always been Pooh sized. She doesn't have any trouble at all now, thanks to stores like Lane Bryant....but she pays twice as much.
