two step kids (boy 16, girl 13) Boy (DS) lives with us and visits his mother on weekends, and the opposite for the girl (DD) DS goes to my high school so it made sense for him to live with us and go to school with me everyday. DD is still in 8th grade and her elementary school is near her mom's house. It works out well for everyone. (plus teenagers tend to fight ALOT when they are together too long!!! ;) )

Both of the kids are going skiing with DH's brother in upper michigan that weekend (off for Pulaski Day) and it will be a weekend away for DH and me!!!

did you work last night/this morning???
didn't you read back????? :rotfl: Yep-I sure did work-and we were pretty busy this morning-with a mini-code situation and my kiddo decided he was grumpy on top of that-and it was a typical monday morning

but now the phone rang-and DH,who's off today-went shopping or something-and of course it was the kids school!!!!

Nothing serious, just a time change for BB tonight-did you here that my DD won their Tournamet!!! and actually got to play-even had a break away run down the entire length of the court for a layup-too much excitement so she missed but boy was it good to see her finally play

she was very happy-she actually got to play and it was a good series of games-the final game was against a very tough team and they didn't think they could beat them-BUT They did and by quite the lead(6pts!!!)

see she's on a 5th grade/6th grade team-and they don't usually play the 5th graders too much because of this-6th grade Tournament(bad coaching :guilty: ) but this time at least she played all 3 games :cheer2: :cheer2: (even if one was for 4.9seconds)

DH only likes to go when its cold here.....

and I have been asking/ telling him I want to go in August with some of my (single) girlfriends that are going and he said "that would be fine its too hot then anyway"

well, as we were sitting talking about the trip, and dates and such.... he was getting a little jealous!!!

then his brother called about the skiing. and after we had the dates for that --- he said "would it be possible to still get a room at disney???" ---

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I knew I loved that man!!!

anyway since it fell on a three day weekend for Pulaski day (polish american who was the father of the US calvary-- big holiday in Chicago) we knew it was a go!!!

We've been married only 3 years, but have been together for almost 11. and most of our vacations have had at least one kid with us, if not both. (except for two disney trips-- one of which was our honeymoon)

I'll send some of that pixie dust your way so your DH will pick up on the hint to go somewhere ALONE!!!! (with you ;) )

Its a holiday to honor the "father of the american Calvary" Casmir Pulaski a Polish American helped George Washington ---- way back when ;) :cheer2:

I think its a national holiday but not really celebrated, at least its a state of illlinois holiday... and in Chicago its a big holiday (due to the number of Polish people who live here) we have a big parade, lots of great food and a day off. (but don't forget to pay the parking meters!!!)

It got cold last night but I think tonight is the big freeze warning night. Especially for Strawberry and blueberry growers. BIG WORRY NIGHT FOR THEM.

I think it is going to stay cold until mid-week than warm up a bit.

well, I am an MGM girl, so we will definately be there, then we want to try to get over to AK to see if we can get on EE. then the rest is up to the weather and relaxing. We do have ADR's already so we'll be floating around the rest of the time. If you find out any other info on where you'll be .. we can try to "bump" into each other.

I know we will be at MGM one of the days. Because she wants to eat at Sci-fi and 50's Prime time. She also mentioned a couple of other places she wanted to eat. Not sure how we are going to pack all these eating things in but I am sure she will figure something out.

Take me for example, I am a Disney nut :rolleyes1 my coworkers and family say, Disney...again?????????? but here, I am normal/average in how often we go :thumbsup2

Did you ever realize that not everyone has the same purpose in life? Did you ever notice the changes in skin color and texture? Did you ever notice that not everyone was the same? Well, I never seemed to notice. Until now.

I’m 12. My parents had left me for dead when I was 3. I had a special disease that they couldn’t pay for all the treatments. They thought that by getting rid of me would solve their problems. But that didn’t work. I struggled by finding my way out of that forest, that cave of horror. I grew up in a foster home. No one knew my name, so they called me Speechless, because I had trouble talking. None of the adopters, none of the “angels” as us kids called them, wanted me. They thought that I would be a problem in their life and I would harm their other children. But they were wrong.

I finally managed to find my angel. Her name was Ashli. Somehow, I felt as if I’d known her all my life. But somehow, I also felt frightened of her. She was tall with bright blue eyes. I think that’s what frightened me. I think it was her eyes. Whenever I would look at her, it felt as though she was staring right through me. She took care of me, yes, but I hardly ever saw her during the day. She always went places, but I never knew where. She would leave me a note everyday, telling me that we were meant to have met. The note always confused me. I never knew what she meant.

Sometime later, when I was 8, she took me to the place where she went everyday. She told me that every night, she would sample my blood to figure out how to fight my disease. This really freaked me out. I mean, I was only 8 years old. Wouldn’t you be scared too? Well, you know what, this story isn’t going anywhere. You should just put this book down and go do some other act of getting out of bored ness. Well, I warned you. This story is about to change completely.

Well, this is the beginning of pretty much a brand-new story. It is about a girl whose name was Aicha. She was a beautiful young girl. Her hair—wait. This still isn’t working. I need a fresh idea. Maybe if I write The Cat Sat On The Mat a million times, I’ll get inspiration. After all, a guy in a book I just read did that. Maybe it will work on me.

The
Cat
Sat
On
The
Mat

The
Cat
Sat
On
The
Mat

Hey, I think it’s working. Maybe if I could just get a good story going, I could finish this thing. Maybe I should just write about what I read or something. Well, let’s see. My sister, Molly, lent me the book, I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith. It was quite an interesting book, you see. It was about a girl who had a father that is kinda like me. But that won’t be what my story is about. Of course it won’t be. If I went on talking about my life, people would probably get bored. Maybe they wouldn’t. Maybe I could just tweak up the story a bit. Well, it’s a start. With that, I’m off to the theater or should I spell it theatre. People in Britain or England spell it theatre while people over here in the United States spell it theater. But I might just change color to colour in my story, even though this program’s spell checker says that colour is wrong. I am going off onto a completely different tangent than what my story started out as. But sometimes life can be a puzzle and I think that is what my life is sometimes. It is right now. Isn’t that peculiar? Well I don’t think it is.

My life is continually changing. My life is just like this story. It started out one way, then it changed, and then it changed again. It is so weird how I think sometimes, but I believe that right now, I am just simply writing my thoughts into this document. Would you like to know what I continue to save this as? Even if you said no, I will tell you. I saved it as mystoryDONOTREAD!!!. Isn’t that peculiar for a saved story/document?

I was reading the start of your novel :thumbsup2 and I was thinking that since you have a ton of ideas and feel like your story is sort of about you, but not.....and keeps going in new directions and changing....maybe you would want to start with a journel and write down your feelings and ideas each day...sort of get the energy out on paper first and then you can sort through it and add it to your story :confused3

Just a thought, I am not an english/language kind of person....more a number cruncher :teeth:

It was a joke about trying to surgically alter my fingers to be identical to my wife's fingers so that we could avoid purchasing two annual passes. :hippie: obviously just a joke. however, when I went to check on whether anyone had commented it was not there. anyone know why?

Speaking of which did you ever give us the recipe for that Breakfast Casserole???

I did!

But just in case you missed it here it is again:

INGREDIENTS:

4 slices bread
12 to 16 ounces bacon or sausage, cooked and drained
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
6 eggs, beaten
2 cups milk
1 teaspoon dry mustard

PREPARATION:

Grease the bottom of a 9"x13" pan. Tear up 4 slices of bread and place in the bottom of the pan. Sprinkle cooked crubled bacon or sausage over bread pieces. Sprinkle cheddar cheese over the bacon or sausage. Mix eggs, milk and mustard together; pour over casserole. Bake at 350 for 30-45 minutes.

I made it with sausage this morning and everyone at work loved it!. I made it with bacon last time and personally I like the bacon better!

They're just trying to make more out of it than it actually is. And the reporters are really jumping on the fact that it wasn't reported. Well, the law says it doesn't have to be reported unless someone was killed. :confused3 Surely there's got to be more newsworthy stories out there!

Me??? :confused3 Nope, not yet. But I'm sure DH will take the boys shopping after school for something for me. He's a last minute kind of guy. :rotfl: But he usually always pulls it together nicely at the last minute.
