I’m 12. My parents had left me for dead when I was 3. I had a special disease that they couldn’t pay for all the treatments. They thought that by getting rid of me would solve their problems. But that didn’t work. I struggled by finding my way out of that forest, that cave of horror. I grew up in a foster home. Noone knew my name, so they called me Speechless, because I had trouble talking. None of the adopters, none of the “angels” as us kids called them, wanted me. They thought that I would be a problem in their life and I would harm their other children. But they were wrong.

I finally managed to find the perfect parent. Her name was Ashli. Somehow, I felt as if I’d known her all my life. But somehow, I also felt frightened of her.
