It was yummy :thumbsup2 I don't understand...why do you have "clinic duty"...isn't there a school nurse or office staff to handle the sick kids...It seems like a lot of liability to have parents acting in this role instead of school employees? :confused3
That's what i was thinking too! they won't even let the parents near the nurses office unless they have a kid in there at andie's school :confused3

We only have a School Nurse one day a week. The rest of the time it is handled by the Parents or School Staff. Basically the parent is there for the little stuff. Throwing up, accident in their clothes, little scrapes and calling the Parents to come and get their kid. Big stuff goes to the office staff.

Her school is almost what I would call PARENT run. It is different than normal Public school. I guess the best way to decide it would be Public school on a Private school level. They figure all the extras they get from the Parents doesn't cut into their budget.

My sister bought a bunch and returned some (she has 2 kids that brought them home)...the school returned the tickets to her and told her is was a "mandatory" fundraiser  Hello, why don't they just raise the tuition instead is it is a forced sell :confused3

It really is a good school. Basically back to the basics from long ago when the parents were involved in the kids schooling. I mean it's really nice when i walk into school and they all know me and know DD. I bet a lot of parents don't even know the name of their teachers.

::yes:: in a way I guess it could be. But the budget goes towards things the school needs instead of a full time nurse or office staff to man the clinic.
I am really happy there. I just wish some of the other Mom's in DD's class would step up. I know SEVERAL don't work at all.

I am VERY happy their. They don't put up with any crap from any child. So the teacher can teach and not have to worry about kids acting out. Plus you see a lot of the same parents around school all the time so you really get to know a lot of the parents.

Okay are you sure that Arthur is not my DH? Because DH does the same thing. I always try and wait a little bit before I say something because if I say it took quick he say "I was going to clean it up.". :teeth:
:lmao: That's the same thing he said!! :lmao: I thought I was being smart by doing it at night, when he and Albert had gone bike riding, but no! He came home took a shower and shaved in the sink :headache:

I wish we didn't have carpets, I would take all the sweeping over the stains in the carpet anyday! My mom spills everthing
If I have my choice I will never have carpet again. When I see what I sweep up and think about that being in my carpet. :crazy2: :scared:
Now I want a Roomba. :cool1: it will pick up the animal hair and dirt all the time.
A co-worker has one and he LOVES it. He also doesn't have carpet and he said ti works great on the floors. :thumbsup2

Well, she went into the hospital on Tuesday evening, and it just went downhill fast. She passed on Saturday morning and it's been tough. Luckily we had stopped at their house earlier Tuesday just to say hi.
I think she knew that something was happening though because the food she made was always great. And just a couple of weeks earlier, had made 2 awful desserts.
And she was 79, very very young for her family. Her aunt was 103 when she died. And another aunt was acutally at the funeral at 98 years old. So it was unexpected.

We only have a School Nurse one day a week. The rest of the time it is handled by the Parents or School Staff. Basically the parent is there for the little stuff. Throwing up, accident in their clothes, little scrapes and calling the Parents to come and get their kid. Big stuff goes to the office staff.
WOW
that seems weird all the schools here have a registered nurse on duty whenever school is in session and most field trips have the substitite nurse going

got to take care of 4 hungry/crying babies, while the other nurse took care of what they consider a sick baby-yes the baby was sick(but not as sick as I get them at my other job),but she was just sitting there for over 3 hrs doing nothing(well nearly nothing) while I ran from one crying baby to the next all night :( and then needs me to show her how to fix a problem with a IV,since I'm use to this kind of situation, and she's freaking out and not use to it
They ended up transfering the baby to my other job(Children's Hospital) and when the transport team showed up they were like-What are you doing here????....Going out of my mind thank-you!!!!-all I want to do is hold a baby and feed it,not just rush around and shove a bottle in it's mouth-Ughhhhh

I'm sooooo tired-but DH is making me a quick breakfast then after a bit I'm off to bed :thumbsup2
******warning small vent coming up****
got to take care of 4 hungry/crying babies, while the other nurse took care of what they consider a sick baby-yes the baby was sick(but not as sick as I get them at my other job),but she was just sitting there for over 3 hrs doing nothing(well nearly nothing) while I ran from one crying baby to the next all night :( and then needs me to show her how to fix a problem with a IV,since I'm use to this kind of situation, and she's freaking out and not use to it
They ended up transfering the baby to my other job(Children's Hospital) and when the transport team showed up they were like-What are you doing here????....Going out of my mind thank-you!!!!-all I want to do is hold a baby and feed it,not just rush around and shove a bottle in it's mouth-Ughhhhh
 I'm sorry you had a crappy night Kim

Lucky you!!! I hate paying to get my color done!! but I do get a really good discount! Since my "dads" sister works at a salon she does my cut and color for me and all I have to pay for is the supplies she uses :thumbsup2 last time she only charged me $25 :cool1:

My SIL sent this to me.
My annual checkup...
I went to the doctor for my annual physical. The nurse starts with certain basics.
How much do you weigh?" she asks. "115," I say.
The nurse puts me on the scale. It turns out my weight is 140.
The nurse asks, "Your height?" "5 foot 4 1/2," I say.
The nurse checks and sees that I only measure 5' 2".
She then takes my blood pressure and tells me it is very high.
"Of course it's high!" I scream, "When I came in here I was tall and slender! Now I'm short and fat!"
She put me on prozac.
