We got about 14" last weekend but most of it was gone by Tuesday. We got about 4" today. Tomorrow is supposed to be nice but then we have snow showers forecast for tomorrow night into Monday. Then Tuesday's supposed to be clear and then more snow showers for Wednesday. That's why we're having a hard time deciding when we should leave to go to PA. Yucky week of weather.

The furry human's never travelled that far with us. He travels well but our fear is if we were to get in an accident or break down and him getting hit. He doesn't run off so that's not a problem. And we've already talked to the hotel up there and they'll allow him. But I think we'd just feel better knowing he was safe at the vets. Of course, that's if the vet has a run available for him and we won't know that until Monday morning. We could end up waiting and have to take him with us anyway.

You know the in-laws are coming back to WDW with us in Dec... well they want to bring two of our nieces (12&11). I told them ok... I think it would be fun. They've never been to WDW before and we could show them around and get to spend some time with them.... BUT.......

the kids do not know each other since we live across the country from them. Their family is almost polar opposites from ours. And.. if they go then we'll have to get two rooms (one for us and all the kids and one for in-laws)..no biggie... BUT.. if they don't go then we can add four more days onto our vacation.

I want them to go.. but I don't want them to go :blush: I feel so guilty even thinking about not wanting them to go.

I don't think you are a bad aunt :teeth: DH and I go thru this all the time with my family and his...on whether we should vacation together...and in the end we always decide that if we are spending the time, vacation days and money to be on a relaxing vacation...we shouldn't go with family...that would be the total opposite of relaxing for us :crazy2:

ETA: and we live near our family and for the most part get along with them and see them each week or several times a week...but still, vacationing together :scared:

FYI - The weather forecast changed overnight. (WOW! What a surprise!) Anyway, we have decided to leave for PA tomorrow morning as soon as we can get the furry human to the vet if they have a run available for him. If not, he'll be going to. We were supposed to have snow and sleet tomorrow morning but they have pushed that back in the forecast to tomorrow night so it looks like we should be able to get out okay. Monday night and Tuesday don't look so good for here but we'll be coming back Wednesday and it looks pretty good that day. PA doesn't have any nasty weather in their forecast until Thursday. Looks like someone's looking out for us!

FYI - The weather forecast changed overnight. (WOW! What a surprise!) Anyway, we have decided to leave for PA tomorrow morning as soon as we can get the furry human to the vet if they have a run available for him. If not, he'll be going to. We were supposed to have snow and sleet tomorrow morning but they have pushed that back in the forecast to tomorrow night so it looks like we should be able to get out okay. Monday night and Tuesday don't look so good for here but we'll be coming back Wednesday and it looks pretty good that day. PA doesn't have any nasty weather in their forecast until Thursday. Looks like someone's looking out for us!

Snow I can handle but tomorrow's forecast has sleet thrown in there and I can't handle that. But it looks like we'll be out of here before it gets here. By the looks of the forecast right now I wouldn't be surprised if the kids are out of school Tuesday, or even sent home early tomorrow! That would be nice 'cause then my boys wouldn't be missing too much school.

I'm trying to decide what to cook to take to PA. Any ideas? They're going to have a lot of out-of-town guests coming in later this week and I want to take some stuff so she doesn't have to worry about cooking for people. So far I've got pork stew and a chicken casserole. What do you think about chili. It's easy for me to make but it doesn't seem like a comfort food?

I think chili would be good, it's easy to freeze and easy to warm up again. Maybe a meat loaf, or I LOVE red beans and rice with sausage in it. It also freezes well and is easy to warm up again

If we make it to the resort on time we might try to watch illuminations from the beach at CBR.... as for the parks, I have no firm scheudle as our meals are mostly at the resorts or DTD. But tentatively we will be at MK for Wishes on Sun (EMH) and Illuminations on Sat.

But prob spend most of Sat at MGM (I LOVE TOT and RNR!!!)
