Just got a very distrubing Phone call
A friend of mine from Church lost 3 family member yesterday
a Aunt sudden cancer found out a few weeks ago
a Uncle on her DH's side been sick awhile
and a 40 year old niece from Brain cancer been sick for a few years
and they all died Yesterday
How much is one family suppose to take
but I tell you it sure puts my little problems into perspective
WoW! All in one day.
(It did make me feel a little better though that the neice had been sick from brain cancer for a few years. It would be so nice if Grandpa had years instead of months.)
But isn't it so true, something like that sure puts things into perspective in your own life!

I have it defrosting in my new fridge downstairs and I think this weekend I am going to cook it through the night on Friday night and then slice it and take it to my sister for their lunch on Saturday. I had to print some info from the net on how to defrost, clean and bake it and to make the gravy :rotfl2:

After much thought, I think I have this one figured out...
When we were younger we always wanted to be first because of all the fun stuff we were looking forward to...the first in our crowd to drive, to graduate, to go to college, to get married, to have kids....fun, fun, fun.
Now what is it that we have to want to be first at now that we're at our age now?....Let's see...menopause, hot flashes, irratable bowels, incontinence, old age, alzheimer's and ...the inevitable!
So in those terms
IT'S NO WONDER WE ALL WANT TO BE LAST AND WANT TO LET EVERYONE ELSE PASS US AND BE FIRST!

I don't mind....
We live about 5 blocks from our local elementary school, so we're not isolated. The school's here are supposed to be good, but we don't know for sure b/c they've never gone.
One of the inital reasons was when my ds was in pre-k the local school had a bomb threat to it (elementary). They didn't evacuate the school, they didn't even tell parents until 3 days later with a letter sent home in the kids backpacks. That really bothered me (it was before 9/11).
Another reason is my dd has add and speech problems. We know how mean kids can be and we didn't want her to go through any unnecessary teasing or tormenting. My oldest ds is tiny, tiny, tiny and again, we didn't want him to be exposed to the plain meaness that can happen in the school setting. I was basically tortured during my elementary school years and I just didn't want that for them.
It can be very hard some days, other days not so bad... I don't think I will ever say it's easy :earboy2:
but it is so rewarding... I have taught 3 kids to READ! to read!!! It boggles my mind that I was able to do that. I can watch them grow, explore and expand their minds. We homeschooled independently last year, but this year we're doing a charter school so technically they are public school students. Their classroom is just in their house.
When they get older and if they want to go to a brick and mortar school, then that will be their decision.. I'm thinking after junior high.
I've offered it to them on now my really bad days, but none of them will take me up on it! :rotfl:

Almost time for me to go home.
I am trying to get Dh to rip our closets out and redo them. As soon as I come up with an idea I want to do it NOW!!
And he is like yeah maybe we can do that. So I am like this weekend? And is not so sure about that.

I gotta get ready for work......... :wave2: see you all later!

Kathy what is beef-a-roni?
Hmmm, let's see....
Sautee some onions, add ground beef and cook it, then add some tomatoe paste, add some stewed or diced tomatoes, add some tomatoe sauce, then add some cooked macaroni (any kind - I'm using elbow macaroni tonight). Heat it through and then serve it smothered with cheese! It is pretty good.
It's really economical.
Haven't you ever seen that Chef Boyardee commercial? (Or was it before your time? :rotfl: ) Anyway, it goes...
We're having Beef-a-roni,
Beed and Macaroni
Beef-a-roni's really neat
Beef-a-roni's fun to eat

Well I might be getting a temp job pretty soon. My godmother, (Who's been friends with my mom since I was like 4 or 5) needs help at her job and she asked them if she just bring in someone she knows to help for a few months.
