Yes...we almost didn't make it. I called my mom to pick up my neices, but somehow my sister had invited her firends kids over to play with her girls today....so my mom was watching 4 kids :mad: I think my mom wanted the girls to come with me, but it was hard since they had company. So we are about to leave and there were deer in front of our house, so DH was contemplating getting one...but he didn't so we finally left our house and made it to the movies just in time. We took my nephew with us (DH's sister's oldest son) and he had a great time...expect we let them eat popcorn, candy and those soda icees...then my DMIL made hot dogs and stuff for dinner and invited us over and the boys were very active :scared1: The kids fell asleep when we got home (no nap today) so DH and I played with our pups and now we are both on the computer....I may go to bed soon though.

The movie was very funny, we saw Hood Winked and I really liked it...DH and the kids enjoyed it too.

How was your day/night....hopefully slow and peaceful :worship:

Thanks, he was fine after the initial five minutes....bet he will think twice about playing with bees. We have warned him about it numerous times, but I guess some things you need to learn for yourself :rotfl:

Me too!!!!!! I have gotten bit 3 times (before I lived in this house) and so now I am immune...but I still hate them. I hate the way they look and how fast they move :scared: The good thing is that I spot them really well, I would rather see them and take care of them than the kids get hurt. I also was bit twice in our house by scorpians (sp?), but I didn't get a reaction...and once I was holding DH when he was a baby and I just sucked up the pain and kept carrying him until I got him somewhere safe and high and then DH got it. Better me to get bitten than the kids.

My DMIL says it is good fortune to see a centipede...I think she tells me this so I don't want to move :rolleyes: Once they spray I won't see them for several months...they tend to avoid our house or die outside and DH will dispose of them...

That's what I would do-she has 4 -5th graders and 4 periods to a BB game put them in either at the begining or end of each period(just one at a time) for at least 30sec maybe even a minute-that way at least they feel like they where part of the game!!!But that makes too much sense-

I might have to say something to the school if this continues though-DH is really upset about it and thinks she shouldn't even bother to go if she's not going to play them!!!

Yes, they have two things in the front of their mouth and so that is how you know it is a centipede bite....by the 2 dots. The yucky tale is just a scary looking thing. Now the scorpian tail is what will sting you :crazy2:

Both are painful and yucky ::yes::

I have gotton stung by jelly fish too. Sometimes it is a little "whip" from the tenticle. Once a large jelly wrapped around my upper thigh and I had some really nasty stings...and going down my leg you could see the pattern of the stingers....like the suctions on an octopus leg. And, I have stepped on sea creatures too.

But like, DH says, at least we don't have nasty snakes :crazy2: I can't stand snakes :scared:

The best part of the night she didn't play them was-that DH and I were making some suggestions to the coach like-"How about the rest of the team" nothing too bad-just trying to draw her attention to the fact that she hadn't played one 5th grader yet-and one of the 6th grade Mom's turns around and says-"well, that's how it was last year!"-Ok That got me going I told her (somewhat calmly)"and Just what does that have to do with this year???? We call them centipedes-Long legs white/silver in color and they can run like lighting!!! Millipedes are darker and have the smaller legs-just more and they move in a wave??? Hope I got it right :scratchin

We have the Hawaiian Centipedes which I don't think are the same creatures you would find in a basement in your part of the country. Ours look like this, but sometimes we find them as big as a thumb in thickness and around 7 or 8 inches long :crazy2:

yes, they love wood. That is how I got one of my bites. My dad was cutting fire wood and I was stacking it into the pickup...but by then I had the other two bites already so I kept on stacking wood :rotfl2:

My pups are so cute, they started playing with each other in the last couple days. And, they all have personalities already. DH was wearing a rain coat today when he was washing the house and Copper barked at him as though he was a big dog...then, he was happy again when he saw it was DH :rotfl2: smart dog :dog2: and Tod just wants to eat and then eat more...he might be a little bigger than the rest of them :dog:

You-re right those are nasty- I can't believe your MIL thinks they bring good luck-hope I never run into one of those creatures!!! me too!!!! What I should do is set it up so that the pest control people come out every few months instead of waiting until we see one...I should call them this week and ask for a listing of when they have sprayed around our house for the last six years...then I can see what the pattern is.

Yes, and my dad will find the caterpillars for the kids and we hatch them and release them. My kids love bugs...but DS just learned a hard lesson. About 3 minutes ago I hear him crying and I went to get him and he had just gotten stung by a bee :scared1: I am carrying him into the house and a lizard jumps down near our front door :scared1: I told him, where did that come from????? I was holding him mom :faint: So, he was outside and the puppies were sleeping and he was holding a lizard and a bee...NOW he knows not to play with bees ::yes:: he can stick to lizards, lady bugs and butterlies :dog2:
SO you probably wouldn't want to teach him how to make Bee Kites like I did when I was a kid huh

we sent so many bags to our local church charity right before christmas, the lady joked Santa came early.

It was nice to get rid of the stuff we don't use, didn't want to use, and wouldn't use. (some bad gifts that you just can't throw away!!)

but we gave 3 truck loads and only one of those loads was furniture. most was clothing, linnens, and other stuff.

I saw the bed I want at Ikea, it's only $249 for a queen size bed. Which is what I have now, so I won't have to buy new mattresses. I've only had these for about a year. and they have a lamp I want that will go perfect with the bed :teeth:

I told DH I am TIRED of picking up after everyone! so about five minutes ago he took the kids outside to the backyard to play puppies while I DISed for a bit. Then, after about 2 minutes everyone came in the house and he was like, there are deer in our backyard!. So, since my last post he has shot a deer and now I am back on kid duty and need to go get the ziplocks etc. so we can start cleaning...so much for time on the DIS :rotfl2: oh well, today is a great day though, we have the time to do the cleaning etc. and we don't have any non-smoked meat in the freezer....gotta go :wave2: have fun girl-talking about Albert. :flower3:
