:wave2: Hi Kathy :thumbsup2 I am sneaking in a last. I was cleaning my house, when DH's friend called and so we went to the butterfly farm....very cool, I need to get the photos onto photobucket....DH's friend and her SO have a very awesome setup.

Came home, made lunch and I am supposed to be cleaning again...DSIL had a work thing this morning and DH just picked up her boys to play, give DMIL a chance to rest...the kids are tormentating...I mean, playing with the pups :p ..I am supposed to be finishing cleaning...but being here is more fun :rolleyes1

You sound just like me. I always stay on the kids like that 'cause I know what they're capable of! :rotfl: It's funny, though, 'cause now that the kids are older everyone is always telling us how well behaved they are. Maybe it's 'cause we always stayed on them when they were younger. :rotfl:

Guess what!

Yesterday DH said he wanted to talk about our summer vacation plans. We've been planning a trip to Niagra Falls and up the east coast. Well a few weeks ago he said he really wasn't looking forward to that trip so I just kinda let it drop.

Yesterday he said maybe we should go ahead and get Dollywood/Splash Country season tickets again. We've gotten them every year for the past four years but this past summer we didn't use them all that much so I said I didn't want to get them this year. I reminded him of that and then he said, well, maybe a few days at Disney then! WOW! So it's at least out there as a possibility!

I have one very good friend that has two kids, one same age as my DD and one a year younger. This friend has always told us that we're too hard on our kids and that she feels sorry for them. Well, I'm proud to say that when our kids go out with us we often get compliments on the behavior now. She has actually had friends say that she is welcome to come back but to leave her kids at home. (The was back when they were about 11 or 12). Can you imagine having someone say that to you! I would be so embarrassed. Plus she's had the police call to tell her that her DS was in the hospital from alcohol poisoning from drinking too much at a concert, DD totally disrespects both her parents and will cuss them out in a heartbeat. So, DH and I just continue doing what we do and what we feel is best!

Kelli - How are the crowds at Disney during the summer??? I know they're big but can you still go and enjoy yourself? How about the resorts? Can you move in the pools or are they so crowded you just can't enjoy it?

I know we've gone in the summer when we lived in FL but that was a long time ago. Plus, I don't think we ever stayed overnight during the summer months.

 that is how I think it will be with my sis and I and are kids...I am always too tough and overproctective...and she is correct, but that is how I feel I need to be. My DBIL would be tough on them, but she used to undermine him a lot...cut him down and then make up excuses for the girls :sad2: They give her and my mom such a bad time now...funny thing is that they are always alright with me. I think they know what to expect and where the lines are, and I try hard to be fair. :confused3 oh well, I am sure we all do the best we can.

Everything is pretty busy. But I don't think Overpacked. But it does get pretty darn hot.

Yeah, the heat will be a big factor for us. That's why I was asking about the pools, too. I really think that if we come during summer months we'll be spending a lot of time at the resort swimming and boating!

Kathy, when do you think you would go to WDW? When the boys get out of school?

Not sure, definitely while the boys are out of school, though. Right now I'm checking some prices on disney.com. The first choice I had was 6/26-6/29 and it was pretty expensive but then I realized that's right around the fourth of July. So now I'm just playing with some other dates.

DH just doesn't do well with crowds. Not that I like the crowds but I can handle them a lot better than DH does. But with Andrew starting high school we're not going to be able to make the trips in October like we have in the past. We're just not going to be able to take him out of school for more than one or two days. So I'd at least like to try summer time just to see if it's tolerable for us. We still have three days admission on our tickets so all we have to save for is the room and gas down there.

Only other option is maybe Thanksgiving but I know that's crowded too. But it's cooler, but usually too cool to enjoy the pools.

Plus, I don't think we ever stayed overnight during the summer months.

maybe if I was single I would be nice, but at work it is totally uncomfortable and unwanted attention. When I worked in construction it didn't bother me as much, you kind of expect it I guess. But where I work now I hear things like, "you would let me know if you felt uncomfortable right?" and once, when I had rescinded my resignation I got, "I didn't think I would be this affected or emotional about anyone" and then one guy sends me odd invitations for drinks every so often and an ex-coworker invites me to lunch :confused3 It has been better lately...I think it is good that I am a witch or it would be worse...male dominated field :guilty:

Where is that butterfly farm Lyn? It is near our home at DH's friends house. It isn't a large farm or anything, they do it in their backyard on a tight space, but they have it set up really well. They sell the butterflies for release at wedding and to the hotels. I was very interesting to hear what and how they do it, I learned a lot.

Well WDW would be awesome
for you

to bad you won't be coming up here though
