As of now, no. I have a feeling in the near future you will be able to though. The Coast Guard recently gave it to the town since it is no longer needed.

You can however go up into "Old Baldy" It is the oldest lighthouse in the state of NC. I have been up in it and the view is great. It is located across from the island which the other light is located on. Bald Head Island is a much more exclusive island. You can only have golf carts on it, and houses are 1.5 million and up.

St. Augustine is so cool if you like Ghost Hunting. They have a ton of tours and what not. I have done about four didn't tours there. The history is so amazing.

I didn't think it was so cool as I was climbing to the top. I think there was around 300 or more steps to the top. I was huffing and puffing. If you ever get a chance, take a tour of this boat, the Battleship North Carolina. It's about half an hour from our beach.

Steph, if you read back...I made the 7 can soup slow cooker recipe tonight...actually, I made it like your sister and used 8 cans. It was really great and easy. DH really liked it and wants me to make it again and add some Portuguese sausage. I think I will pick up the ingedients the next time I hit the store and save the cans in my pantry for when the guys come over....this is a great dish to make for them in the late evening...with bread, yummy.

:rotfl2: DH just got home. We had a lot of soup...so we ate dinner and I freezed a small ziplock so that I can heat it up again later for my kids for lunch on a weekend. I then put the rest in a container and DH took it to my in-laws to trade dinner with them. DMIL made a bunch of stirfry and so DH wanted to trade with her so we will have stirfry tomorrow and they can have soup. When DH got there, his mom put the soup in her own container and washed mine, then started filling my container to the top with stirfry. DH was argueing with her that it was too much....we wouldn't be able to eat that much for dinner, so he took out some. Then, DMIL starts putting more back in and he asked her, "What are you doing????" and she says, "the soup looks really good, I want to fill this up so that Lyn wants to trade again!" :rotfl2:

The puppies are super cute. We started feeding them puppy food and leaving out water in addition to their milk and now they chow down and sleep....so Copper is sleeping next to DS and Tod is sleeping on DD .....I wish I could find the camera :sunny:

They are a really great vacation! A beautiful floating hotel and every day you wake up someplace new!

cause our oldest DD 12 is terrified of boats so we would have to have tehm stay with My Mom and right now family vacations are more important

Alaska is very beautiful! Be sure to add a cruisetour to it at the beginning and/or the end as well...there is so much to see beyond where the ships are able to get to.

Maybe your 12yo will feel more favourably towards ships by then too! ;)

We were talking today (myself and 3 girlfriends) about going somewhere for a girls trip and cruising always seems to be first choice. Just seems to have something for everyone and feels like a bigger vacation than a 'land package' if that makes sense? :hyper2:

Monday was a day from "you know where" at work. It was so bad that when I left work my manager said to me, "Thanks for holding it all together around here today. You are coming back aren't you? :rotfl: :rotfl: Luckily I'm off until next Monday so I have some time to forget about what a day it was! I didn't even get to my friends house to pick up the boys until almost six. She had fixed dinner for us and we had to wait for her DH to get home from work. I never got home until almost nine, got the boys ready for bed and fell into bed!

Yesterday I ended up with a migraine all day. I couldn't even make it to the computer it was so bad. I haven't had one like that in years. I'm feeling better today but I still have a headache (like a hangover). I was in bed when you called Tracy.

I need to teach DH to get on here if I can't just to check in and let you guys know what is going on.

Tracy - Thanks for the call yesterday afternoon. Sorry I haven't been on here.

Monday was a day from "you know where" at work. It was so bad that when I left work my manager said to me, "Thanks for holding it all together around here today. You are coming back aren't you? :rotfl: :rotfl: Luckily I'm off until next Monday so I have some time to forget about what a day it was! I didn't even get to my friends house to pick up the boys until almost six. She had fixed dinner for us and we had to wait for her DH to get home from work. I never got home until almost nine, got the boys ready for bed and fell into bed!

Yesterday I ended up with a migraine all day. I couldn't even make it to the computer it was so bad. I haven't had one like that in years. I'm feeling better today but I still have a headache (like a hangover). I was in bed when you called Tracy.

I need to teach DH to get on here if I can't just to check in and let you guys know what is going on.

Steph, if you read back...I made the 7 can soup slow cooker recipe tonight...actually, I made it like your sister and used 8 cans. It was really great and easy. DH really liked it and wants me to make it again and add some Portuguese sausage. I think I will pick up the ingedients the next time I hit the store and save the cans in my pantry for when the guys come over....this is a great dish to make for them in the late evening...with bread, yummy.




That soup was Yummy!!! We added a little more "spice" to it and it was AWESOME!!!! It will be made again in our house!!!!
