Sorry I keep deserting you-well I'll try again to fill you in-OK

Sorry in advance for the vent-

Well I get to work at 11pm and not aware that some idiot girl/RN has taken a pair of patients along with orientee of a new RN who will finish her orientation in a week-usually they take two patients tops and she feels like she's super nurse and can handle more-well surprise surprise when they can't-Hello these patients are in the ICU for a reason-they are a little sick-duh

so silly me didn't realize that she had a pair and an orientee and asked if this was true-all of a sudden I have two people yelling at me that we aren't helping and it has nothing to do with her having a pair of patients on top of an orientee who doesn't know how to handle all this-please give me a break-just calm down and breath

We have alot of nurses who have never worked on the floor(general medical area) and had to learn to prioritize their assignments and problems when it comes to taking care of more than 1 patient-so this happens occasionally where they freak out and become Miss Drama Queens-anyways I don't know if this makes sense to you or not-this is really a nursing issue that occurs more than it should due to lack of some nurses skills when it comes to handling more than one thing at a time-and you guessed it they're single and have no kids-multi-tasking is not their strong point!!

Sorry for the long vent-I feel better

We go to a local tree farm and walk thru the trees
pick on out
cut it down
drink hot cocoa

make a whole afternoon of it :teeth:

although I am guessing you don't have any local tree farms down there

Matter of fact I do believe we have some. But they are NOT the kind of trees I want.

Unlike Kathy we just go to the local Home Depot to get ours. That is how the City Folks do it. :rotfl:

I just talked to a friend of ours down in FL yesterday. They bought theirs at Home Depot in St. Pete. Got it three or four days ago, brought it home and put it in the tree stand with water, went to decorate it yesterday and all the needles were falling off. She said that they could actually sit in the room and hear the needles hitting the floor.

We do get quite a few. It doesn't take a while lot of snow 'cause it's just hard for the busses on the mountainous roads. Do you guys have delay days or limited route days?

The most we get is a 2 hr delay-unless we get the 10 inches, which occasionally happens

The most we get is a 2 hr delay-unless we get the 10 inches, which occasionally happens

We get one hours delays and two hour delays but we also get limited route days where there's only partial bus service (mostly just paved roads). If you live on a limited route and they call it limited for that day then it's the parents responsibility to get their kids to school. If they can't - or won't - then it's an excused absence.

Okay everyone...gather 'round! ;)

I've finally got my tree pics ready to post.

First, I gotta warn you. DH has been saying ever since we decorated the tree..."Are you sure you put all the decorations on it??" Well, we had. And I thought it looked fine. Until I saw the pics of it. I'm gonna be putting more decorations on it! It looks bare! The problem is that it's so huge! (We're gonna have to get a Charlie Brown tree next year to compensate for having such a big tree this year!)

eeyoresmountainpals
12-09-2005, 07:28 AM
But first...here's a pic of a Santa ornament that I got through the Disboards Christmas ornaments exchange. (Kimisabella in NY had my name and sent me such beautiful ornaments!)

It's pretty blurry but look at his springy, sproingy legs. I had never seen an ornament like that before.

Gatlinburg! For the weekend. We're gonna leave here as soon as the roads clear. It's nice that the boys are out of school because we were gonna pick them up early from school but one DS had "Fun Friday" in the afternoon and didn't want to have to leave early. So now there's no problem and hopefully we'll get out of here around noon. It's a three hour drive.

Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge have what's called "Winterfest." The towns are completely decorated and lit up for the holidays with lots of lighted animation. Tonight we plan to go to dinner and then drive around looking at all the lights. Tomorrow a little shopping and then we'll go to Dollywood to see the lights there. (We have season passes for there.) We're staying in a hotel in Gatlinburg and our room is on the third floor and has a balcony right over the sidewalk on the main street so we can see all the lights from our balcony. The hotel also has an indoor pool so the boys will spend a lot of time swimming.

CAN'T WAIT!

This is actually my Christmas present. It's a tradition that we've had for about ten years now.

You did it
You finally posted Pictures

First I love the springy legs too
they are cool

and your tree
well it was worth the wait
it is very nice
That is the kinda tree we have to get every year

HUGE!!!!!!!!!!

and i think it looks great I bet lit up it is very beautiful :goodvibes :goodvibes

Actually the lights were on when I took the pics but you can't see 'em. If you look real closely you can see some of the yellow ones but I don't know why other colors didn't show up.

We're not used to getting such a huge tree. We usually lean towards more of a Charlie Brown type that really needs a home. ;)

just wanted you to know
:grouphug:

Thanks for adding Lenny to your prayer list. I know he can use all the prayers possible. I went to get him a card yesterday. What do you say!?!?

I love Charlie Brown trees but DH has an overcompensation problem

He did with out so much as a kid that he makes sure our kids have it all (with in reason) and a huge tree is part of what they all like
so i deal with it

Most of ours is woods too. And we're thinking of having some of it logged next year. Our house sits on about 4 acres and about 3 acres is cleared and about 1 is wooded. But then we also own about 31 acres across the road and only about 2 of that is cleared and the rest is wooded (some of it pretty heavily wooded).

Smart move! I can't imagine clearing it all and not having any woods around the house. Even with ours, if we have it done, we'll be picking and choosing so that it's not stripped.

To me it was like meeting an old friend. :grouphug:

Everything just came together. It was not akward at all for me. I don't know about the others. I felt the same way...I nervous to make a great impression, but then I read there were lower standards of me (us) and we just needed to be normal...so I hope we seemed normal. I told Kelli that security wouldn't let me bring in my ax, so they were safe. One of my first thoughts when we were leaving was that it is too bad we live far away, I was thinking that everyone was so nice and we would have fun not only in computer world but in real life too. Our kids were having a lot of fun together too and my DH really enjoyed talking to everyone. When we were leaving he was saying how nice Kelli's DH and in-laws were and how wonderful Kliz husband was. In fact, he was talking about him by his first name and I had to ask him, "who's that?" and he said, "Liz's DH!" "Ohhhh  "

:rotfl: that's funny! :rotfl: I'm really glad everyone had a great time! It's good to know that everyone got along even without a computer in front of them! :cheer2:

I would love to stay there also. But I don't like the price. :rotfl: I won't post this on the resort board, but it wasn't worth the price, for us.....and I had a best rate. Our savanah view room mostly overlooked a tree and hot tub (were adult humans part of the attraction?) and the hotel was nice, but really dark...We just enjoyed the CSR so much more...the people were nice, the laundry and bus stop were more convientent, the food court was better and the pool was nicer :confused3 I don't know, maybe it is just me, but I thought we had more bang for our buck at CSR....and the animals come out on a schedule, so you can't see them all day if you wanted...my DH really loves the outdoors and animals, but he thought you could see just as much from the safari and Animal Kingdom...It was nice to stay there once to see and we still had a wonderful time, but I most likely wouldn't stay there again...definetly would stay again at CSR.

Hello everyone here for a short while.

My DH is very impressed with my little group of friends. He was like they are all so nice. :goodvibes

Our flights there and back weren't the easiest with DD and I sick, but we made it...and on the plane and in the airport my kids were super great. They were content to sleep, play games and watch DVDs...they never complained :earseek: It was amazing...I think if I wasn't sick and we had less layovers it would have been better....but overall I think it went well. On our way home yesturday a flight was delayed and we were almost stuck in Denver or the West Coast, but we got lucky and ended up with a better flight home :cheer2:

Once we where there we had a blast. We stayed on Hawaiian time so we would wake up late and then go to wherever we wanted for the day...It really worked out for us since we ate later than the normal lunch crowd and my kids were up for the nightime events. My DH had a great time and his arthitus didn't act up once :cool1: It was better than it is at home, which is amazing with what he ate :earseek: I think that 95% of our waking time was spent either eating, walking or eating while walking. My kids loved everything and didn't want to come home, even though they missed our animals and family....DH and I weren't ready to come home either.

We hit all the parks and went to the water park one day. Besides the parks, we really enjoyed La Nouba and the events at Fort Wilderness. The kids loved the campfire and movie and we did the petting zoo and other stuff there. We loved Coronado Springs Resort....We didn't like Animal Kingdom Lodge as much as we thought we would, but we still had fun there. We rode Buzz Lightyear about 10 times...on our last run I scored as much points as you could and suprized the ***** out of my DH and myself...but I still think DS liked the ride more than me :teeth:

We had so much fun and we were there for a while so it was very relaxing to go at our pace....we ended up spending a little more than I had saved for the trip, but I bought some Christmas/Birthday gifts and more toys for the kids than I had planned.... it wasn't so bad, I am hoping I can absorb it into this month's budget.

I am glad I planned ahead reasonable for our vacation and how much we eat/spend...Hawaii, especially the touristy parts is expensive, so I had a decent idea on how much we would need. When we were leaving the AKL at 5 a.m. yesturday, there were a bunch of security cars at the hotel....we were talking to the bellhop and she was saying that they get a lot of domestics at the hotels...I guess the crowds, heat, high cost of things not being expected, high expectations and fussy kids get to the parents and there are fights :earseek: When we were leaving I was so glad my DH and I agree most the time :love2:

My DH was telling my mom today how much fun he had and the kids were asking to go back to the hotel while we were on the plan and again today :earseek: We told them, sorry, mom and dad need to get back to work!!!! :rotfl2:

Right before our trip I was wondering if it was a good idea to go, especially when DD was sick....but it was worth it :teeth:

I know it is just all her life every little injury or illness has been a event and half or at least she tried we never really bought into it
if she stubbed her toe she thought she broke it
if she cut her hand just a little she must have stiches

drives me crazy

her sister was like that too
until she really did get hurt almost cut her toe off witha hatchet and did get stiches now she is much better

But Jess will learn to work with it
and on really bad days she will get to stay home and rest
the hard part will be decideing which days are the bad ones
but I can kinda tell by watching her face

SO what are ayour weekend plans Tracy
going to get your tree??

Lyn GREAT TO SEE YOU BACK. Glad you had a great trip. I will be heading to Orlando in about 10 months. I cant wait.

hope everyone has a great weekend!!Thanks....and you are not the only one slow to get into the holiday spirit....I have no interest in putting up a tree this year even though I usually love it. I guess since we have been gone/busy it seems like such a hassle for only a few days, but I know I need to do it for the kids. Luckly, DH's cousin called last night and offered a tree from their property and he wanted to cut it down for the kids, which I think will be great...I doubt there are many trees left to buy around here since it is so close to Christmas....I may go very simple with decorations this year :teeth:

my Scooter puppy
Cute puppy :goodvibes I think we are going to have puppies again  I wanted to fix my female dog, but DH wasn't ready :confused3 We put her in a separate pen when she was in season and while she was in there my other two dogs that we love got loose and haven't come home. DH thinks there won't be back :guilty: But, my really smart male dog that is gone must have gotten to her somehow since now we are back from our vacation and she looks like puppies are coming. Puppies are so much work, but I am really happy she may have more, I really miss our male dogs and the father was the best dog ever, I hope she has some males, I think we may keep at least two males and then I am fixing her after this and DH has agreed. Don't tell DH, but I am excited for puppies :teeth: The last two litters we had there were more people who wanted the dogs than the amount of puppies we had, but it was hard for us to give them away, we get easily attached :guilty:
