Will they take days off one of there vacations to make up for the snow days??
They'll end up tacking the days onto the end of the school year. That's why we never get out until the 10th or 15th of June. Our school calendar has us getting out around May 30th but that NEVER happens. Then if we have a lot to make-up they can ask the state to allow them to "forgive" some of the days so that we don't have to make them up. They did that with two or three days last year.

I am so swamped I don't know if I am coming or going. Plus being out of work yesterday just set me that much further behind. I really could work all day today. But my Mom needs me to run errands with her. Plus we need to go and put a Christmas Tree on my Dad's Grave.

My friend just called about an hour ago and her DD was leaving to go for a final exam at college and slipped on ice and slid right under the vehicle as she was getting in. They were on their way to the ER to see if her ankle is broken.

Sorry to say hello and run but I've got a few things I've got to take care of. I'll be back on in a while.
Do you guys ever get on eBay and look at stuff you can't afford but really want? no, but I think my DH dreams about hunting stuff from all the catalogs he has :confused3
good morning all!
I am feeling pretty good. My chest is still tight so I still need my asthmas medication, but Whoo HOo I feel good...nananana~
G and B still have a cough, but their fevers have broken. T and M now have fevers... I just hope that this leaves our house soon.
well I am going to be busy today taking care of the kiddos and catching up on all the stuff that I didn't get to do this past week.
Have fun and I'll talk to you all later :wave2:
btw..... I'm LAST! I am happy your doing better, I hope it leaves your house soon :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:
I can just imagine what my friend is going through. Her daughter is 19 and is the biggest spoiled brat ever. My friend said she already threw a fit in the ER and almost kicked the doctor. :sad2: I hate to say this, but maybe this would be a humbling experience for her. When my roommate broke her arm in college (playing in the snow) we had to carry her food, wash her hair....we did a lot of stuff for her for weeks. When my DBIL broke both his arms in a dirt bike accident, my sister did EVERYTHING for him..... can't be too picky when you need someone to help you all the time ;)

we were at our house in CA about 8 years ago on Thanksgiving taking videos in the front yard. When all of a sudden down the street comes walking a turkey!! It was the funniest thing ever!
I have no idea where it came from, but the little guys sure loved watching it.

I just went to the kitchen to do some dishes and a turkey flew into the front yard, then another, then another. Does your DH hunt turkeys? He'd go nuts right now, they're all over our property. I'm downloading the pics I just took. nope, he only safely hunts mature animals we will eat....so basically deer in land where he will get permission (from friends/family). The wild turkeys around here are tough, or so I have heard....as long as we have been married DH hasn't gotten any. On the rare occasion he will go hunting with friends for pigs or goats, but most times he won't get one or if he does it is because someone he knows wants the meat. He is very responsible and so are his hunting companions, so lately I have been letting him take DS more. DS loves going, in fact, two nights ago he took out his hunting clothes and has it ready on his bed "just in case" doesn't the boy know that I am exhausted from the trip, camping, preschool, helping my sister...and oh, ya, CHRISTMAS :teeth: I like hunting too, but for the nature walk. I can spot the animals, but I don't like guns and don't care to learn, so when they do their thing I take my time to catch up and by the time I reach there it is over. I don't mind the cleaning part or the preparing of the meat....and being with the guys is fun :goodvibes
I hope it is. She is just sooooo spoiled, it's unbelievable. She'll go off yelling at her mom, calling her a b----. Maybe this will make her realize all that her mom really does for her. :earseek: that is so sad and horrible....the worst part is some people never learn to appreciate what they have....hopefully she does before it is too late.

My DH doesn't hunt, mainly 'cause we don't like the meat. I can't stand hunters that just hunt to hunt. There are a lot of those kinds around here. But there are also a lot of responsible hunters that only kill what they will eat or know they can share. We don't allow any of our friends or neighbors hunt on our property so there are lots of deer and other animals.

We have about 37 acres. The house sits on about 4 acres on one side of the road and then the rest of the acreage is across the street. We have a fence across the back behind the house, then there's a creek on the other side of that fence, but other than that none of it is fenced.

Too me, it is just wasteful and dangerous to everyone else. We have caught people on our property before. They had permission on the land waaaayyyyy below and then crossed over into our family land and I spotted them on our place. DH and his cousin (who farms his uncle's land below and owns below that) confronted them :earseek: I was so scared and I could kind of see them, but it was too far to see well. I guess they knew one of the guys and I think there was a lot of swearing going by DH's cousin on the men apoligized and left. I once saw the guy DH knew and when he saw DH he turned away and was embarrassed, he should be! But I worry that some people don't know or care that they are wrong :guilty:

We think it is!
How much property do you have? we have a couple pieces adjoining that is around 14 acres (and then DH's family has the land around us)...we live on the dry side of the island so most the land in our area is either farmed or fallow farm land and then the drainageways are wild...which is why we get deer. During some years, especially when it is really dry, they come up to eat the produce. They can hide/live in the drainageways. I will look if there is a picture, I think DH took one of a sunset for Kim.
here's our area with a rainbow:

Lyn - I had problems with the pics just like last night but I did it like Tracy told me to and it worked fine. What a beautiful view you have.
If we ever built up on our property we would have a beautiful view but where the house is situated now out the back we see our neighbor's house (and we don't get along with the neighbor so it's not a house we want to see) and out of the front we see the road and then our other property. Our house sits real close to the road. From the family room side of our house we have a beautiful view of the mountains but with the way the room is designed you really have to look. And out of the kitchen side of the house we have a deck and a pretty nice view of woods.

You are blessed. Some people can't even enjoy an acre. I know where we used to live in FL the houses were so close together. That is how it is here now. Many of the new subdivision lots are 3,000-6,000 sf and sometimes 7,500 or 10,000 sf and very insanly expensive. I am so glad DH and I took a chance and did the house thing when we were first married years ago, when the economy was bad and prices were down. I still have a horrible mortgage, but now it is what other people pay for rent and so much less than the going rate on houses now....yikes, I would hate to be starting out :earseek:

I don't know where everyone is. It's been VERY quiet around here today.

Hello and so long :wave2: The preschool called and DD was throwing up :guilty: I know the bug was going around so maybe it found her :confused3 So, now I am washing yucky things and after I eat lunch I will try and finish up my housework while the kids rest.....hopefully I can get done early, finish up some Christmas presents and get out the decorations :sunny: This is the closest to Christmas we have ever been without a tree up :rotfl: I am a little sad though, I missed the Christmas lunch at work :guilty: the school called right before we were leaving to go....but, at least they called me in time and my boss didn't care that I left :cool1:

Oh, Lyn ~ I'm so sorry your DD is sick. Why do kids always pick the holidays to pick up these viruses??? Hopefully she'll get over it quickly and won't "share" with anyone else in the house. (Our family always "shares" those things a little too much.)
