1. DH is ready to go now, so he is way on board.....
2. We decided that with DS starting K next July, we would go the begining of May, during DD's birthday.
3. We want to stay around 7 or 8 nights at CSR, loved it there...I have been watching for best rates to come out. (It looks like I would have that much time off work by then)
4. We already have our APs and we decided we don't want to make a bunch of ADRs or do shows, since we just did all we wanted to do last time. I am thinking I will make an ADR for DDes B-day with either Pooh or Minnie, but other than that we will just eat where we want and try to go at opportune times....no commitments.
5. With all of this, we think we can bring the cost of our trip to 1/2 of what we paid for the last one, which should be o.k. since I have 1/2 the time to save up.....(I have to analyse the hunting store separately and add that in :rolleyes: )
6. the big thing is the airfare. On our last trip I paid around $1010 for ALL 4 of us, so this time I know I won't be that lucky and I want certain flights...so I am hoping to get a great airfare. If I don't, we won't be going....I can't see paying $1000 per person :guilty:

so, that is our plan, to save like we are going, watch the airfare daily and hopefully get there....if we don't go, I am happy we had such a nice trip, I know we are fortunate we got to go at all :teeth:

My shop cordnator called the lead secretary and asked for it to be put in the weekly newletter, and a friend of mine e-mailed one of the big bosses and cc the BIG BIG boss asking if they were going to do anything or have a party or anything.

We had a great trip down-missed the snow in Wisconsin(about 6 inches right after we left) and only ran into light morning drizzle in Nashville-and we missed all the am traffic jams-so it was nice and quiet trip I even survived driving for 4 hrs straight without too much fatigue :cool1:

Yep, we're getting ice and we're supposed to have 2-3" by this afternoon. We've got about 1/2" already. It started around 3 this morning and we're under a winter weather advisory until 6 tonight! So, once again the kids are out of school. They went yesterday and that's the only time this week! I''ve got the Charlotte news on to see about where my daughter is so I'll have to pay attention to where you are too.

I got home last night to my DD crying her heart out. She was watching All Dogs Go to Heaven and was missing our Greyhound that we had to put to sleep over a year ago. It was so sad and it just broke my heart. She was like if God will send her back to me I will give up all my toys and never ask for another one. Please why can't he just send her back to me.

I swear that is one of the saddest movies ever. We went to see it when it first came out and it was only a week after we had to have our doberman put to sleep. We all sat there crying. I feel so bad for your DD. :grouphug:

But don't forget that FL showers are nothing like we're used to up here and probably in your area, too. FL showers come and go so fast that you can get stuck in an absolute downpour and within ten minutes the sun's back out and the day is beautiful.

I just realized another reason why it's so spooky outside. It's not only dark but we live close to the road and NO cars are going by. The road must be pretty bad. I'm glad DH is off today!

Who did you know planning vacations was my hobby? :confused3 o.k. here it goes:
1. DH is ready to go now, so he is way on board.....
2. We decided that with DS starting K next July, we would go the begining of May, during DD's birthday.
3. We want to stay around 7 or 8 nights at CSR, loved it there...I have been watching for best rates to come out. (It looks like I would have that much time off work by then)
4. We already have our APs and we decided we don't want to make a bunch of ADRs or do shows, since we just did all we wanted to do last time. I am thinking I will make an ADR for DDes B-day with either Pooh or Minnie, but other than that we will just eat where we want and try to go at opportune times....no commitments.
5. With all of this, we think we can bring the cost of our trip to 1/2 of what we paid for the last one, which should be o.k. since I have 1/2 the time to save up.....(I have to analyse the hunting store separately and add that in :rolleyes: )
6. the big thing is the airfare. On our last trip I paid around $1010 for ALL 4 of us, so this time I know I won't be that lucky and I want certain flights...so I am hoping to get a great airfare. If I don't, we won't be going....I can't see paying $1000 per person :guilty:

so, that is our plan, to save like we are going, watch the airfare daily and hopefully get there....if we don't go, I am happy we had such a nice trip, I know we are fortunate we got to go at all :teeth:

Lyn - We went to Crystal Palace for DSs birthday last year and it was great! Pooh, Piglet, Tigger and Eeyore are there, they even do a birthday parade.

As far as airfare - don't the airlines usually do some great specials in January after all the winding down of the holidays?

We didn't get much shopping done! :rotfl: We went to lunch and then went to the mall and pretty much just walked around talking. She's broke so I was going to help her get presents for my DH and the boys. But we just didn't see anything. We had a really nice time talking (and eating) though. Seems like whenever we get together we eat. And we end up eating the same. We went to TGIFridays and both ordered exactly the same thing! :rotfl:

Just turned 20 in October.


My Mom says we didn't get to be friends again really until I hit about 30 :rotfl:


My mom and I were always close 'cause my dad died when I was only 14. When I was 16 mom got sick and our roles reversed in many ways. I went to school and took care of the house and all that stuff. She and I still had many of those "issues" that most moms and teenagers do. The year after I got married she got sicker and couldn't live alone any longer so she moved in with DH and I. We were very close then and I am so lucky to have such a wonderful DH to put up with his MIL living with him! :rotfl: Next to DH, mom was my best friend. She got to live with us and see our kids (only DD and one DS at the time) on a daily basis. When she couldn't get out of bed DD would climb into bed with her and one of them would read to the other. DH and I took care of mom for about 4-1/2 years before she passed away and I can honestly say I lost one of my best friends ever, not just my mom.

Yeah, DH and I have finally realized if we say anything negative it pushes her closer to him and further from us. So, we're just patiently waiting for her to see the light. Right now, I think she's starting to see a glimmer of that light. DH says it's just my wishful thinking. But we won't have anything to do with him and that's hard all the way around. She still comes home for holidays rather than spending them with him. I told DH that if BF really meant all that much to her she would be spending time with him on the holidays.

Thanks! I had figured that I needed to get at least a 91% on the final to get an "A" in the course and I got a 98% on the final! I'm so happy! I kept my 4.0 average!!!

We use a charter school.

Basically it's a virtual school where they send everything to us, and I teach the kids, but we're part of a public school and there are teachers who moniter the kids progress, papers, etc.

That's neat. I've never heard of that concept. I know that each state has it's own homeschooling laws and I don't think NC allows something like that. Here it's pretty much all home-schooling or all public schools (unless there is a special ed need like speech therapy or physical therapy, etc.) It's almost like "never the 'tween shall meet."
