i didnt do much at all for decorations for christmas. we are going to be gone this weekend and next weekend so really not home to enjoy them.. I'm a volunteer firefighter and have been with the department for almost three years. I am also taking a firefighting class through our community college and am considering working toward an emergency management associates degree. I also work part-time as a bookkeeper in a grocery chain.

I WAS SOOOOO FUNNY, especially since she tinkled a little on DSes foot :rotfl: I cleaned it all up. I guess a drunk girl could try, but it would be messy :crazy2:

it will probably be right before the new year!! her 90 days runs out then!! she is just not motivated enough for the class she is in!! calls out or is late to often to count.. when you only have a staff of 4 it makes a big difference when one person cant be relied on!

DH stumbled upon a break-in at a convenience store/gas station almost two years ago. He caught them in the act but they ran. He chased them and the chase went through two states, three counties. They shot at him several times. When he called home after it was all over I was okay. Everything had turned out okay. It wasn't until later that day that they found out why they had broken into the store. They desperately needed money to get out-of-town. They had just murdered a man! That's when it all sunk in and I realized just how close he came. I'm really getting ready for him to retire. I keep telling him I'm too old for this ~ the heck with whether or not he's too old ~ I am!

The first batch of chocolate was awful. I don't know what happened but it all ended up in the trash. And fudge is usually my specialty! The second batch of chocolate was better but still not up to what I'm used to making. The peanut butter is excellent, though. I also made chocolate dipped pretzels and graham crackers "sandwiches" with peanut butter dipped in chocolate! Mmmmmm! They are good.

It is kinda strange. I am sure my friend Joan is hurting for her Mother but she also just found out that her Son is expecting their first child. They live in Atlanta and Joan wanted to move up there to be closer to her Grandchild. But her Mother was needing too much care. So now her Mom passes as her Favorite Grandson will be bringing life to this world. Joan is 63 years old and is an amazing women. I take my hat off to her for the things she has had to deal with in life. And what she has become today.

Yes we didnt' have a real good TWO years. My Father had a stroke on the way to Jacksonville with a friend on DH's B-Day. We got the call and had to start driving to the hospital NOT knowing what he would be like when we got there. I slept in a chair in the hospital for a week. And it just went downhill from there.

I got home last night to my DD crying her heart out. She was watching All Dogs Go to Heaven and was missing our Greyhound that we had to put to sleep over a year ago. It was so sad and it just broke my heart. She was like if God will send her back to me I will give up all my toys and never ask for another one. Please why can't he just send her back to me.

I know how you felt
FIL was only 53 when he passed away but it was his 8th heart attack that finally killed him
and he was at DD's school when it happened

We had been thru so much
so mny days on end in hospitals and late night phone calls

at least he isn't in pain anymore


2000 was a bad year for us Jan 29 total my car
Feb 7th my best friend my grandmother died
Aug 18 my other grandmother died
Jan 31 2001 DH's grandmother died

felt like i never stopped greiving
and even though FIL died 11/03
somedays it still feels like yesterday
especially with the holidays
