Yep-I let the kids eat all the good leftovers and was too tired to try and figure what to make for me-DH ate while we were at the movies

Oh on a positive note-DD made it onto the Basketball team!!! All the girls did since only 13 tryed out,the team had 15 openings

Great now the mad rush to get to DS and DD games!!! Should make it a fun winter

Congratulations! Tell her good going! :cool1:

I won't be here too much longer. I've got honey-bbq chicken on the grill. Yep, it's 34 degrees out...we have the heat on...we have a fire in the fireplace...and I'm grilling outside. We even grill out in the snow - neighbors think we're nuts!

I'm doing soooo bad this year! Every since July I can't seem to get things in order anymore! I haven't even started my x-mas shopping yet, usually I'm almost done by now!

At least I'm not alone! I haven't started any of my shopping yet. I have gotten most of it done in my mind, though. :rotfl:

I have no idea how I'm gonna get it all done! I have soooo much to buy & I won't have enough $$ for all of it along with all the bills I pay. plus I need to find they number to call and order things from WDW b/c I want to get my nephew the dvd of Cirque Du Solie for x-mas.

he is excited and a little nervous too!!! I know he is a very social kid.. He can make friends at a playgound in 2 seconds.. makes friends at the pools in wdw faster than that.... but I am still a nervous wreck!!

We have friends coming up from Dunedin (FL) for Thanksgiving dinner. They're driving straight through tomorrow and we'll see them Tuesday night for bowling and CiCi's Pizza and then they'll be coming here for dinner Thursday. They're staying at her parent's condo not far from here.

Plus, you'd get to see snow. We've got snow forcast for Tuesday and Thursday. And the condo that they stay at is right on a ski slope and they started blowing snow there two days ago.

When we were younger & still had sleep overs my cousins & I would use St Ives mint clay mask (I think that's what it's called) all the time, it used to be soooo funny when they would start to harden & we couldn't talk right. I wish they still made that stuff! I used to love to use that then use the apricot scrub to remove it, it makes your skin really soft!

Personally, I've never understood all the hoopla about snow skiing. I've done it once. I then realized it was much easier and cheaper to just plant my butt in the snow in my own front yard since I spent the whole day on my butt in the snow anyway!

Whenever we go to town the first four miles is on our mountain. We have to drive up about a mile and then back down the other three. Every time we go over the top (what they call the "gap") it is a different scene. Somedays it is so foggy you can't even see anything, all you see is the clouds and you're above it; somedays you can see forever; it's always beautiful and I'm always amazed!

This is a pic of the hotel that we stayed at when we came up here to find a place to live. I was hoping to find a winter pic of the hotel but they didn't have any on their site. So, you'll just have to imagine this....

We were ready to leave and I wanted a winter picture to take back to FL. Now you have to realize it was around 11 a.m. and it had snowed since the night before. We were in a conversion van; no four-wheel drive! We started out of the parking lot and I told DH to stop about half-way down the drive so I could get out and take a pic of the water wheel. The water was completely frozen on the water wheel and it was so pretty. DH said he didn't think it was a good idea but...well, let's just say I didn't agree with him. So he stopped and I got out. Now, think about it...if that water wheel was frozen solid what else do you think was frozen...yep, the parking lot. Luckily the van stopped okay. But I took one step out of the van and whoosh - flat on my butt sliding down toward the road. I stopped just before the road! But I still had a firm hold on the camera and I got my pic! :rotfl:

this is a pic of the worst tornado to hit our area

This is the only F5 tornado confirmed in Tennessee. Many fine homes, some even brick, were completely leveled. Trees were uprooted or blown down, power lines were down, and 75 utility poles were blown down around the county. The EMA report of a one ton Dodge flatbed truck weighing almost 5000 pounds being hurled 20 miles could not be confirmed. The EMA director did verify a sedan being carried ½ mile. A tree was debarked by flying debris. A 200 yard wide path of pasture had grass pulled out. Clumps of dirt were pulled up from the ground. Several livestock were killed. Damage was estimated at 4 million dollars
