First off, I would be as upset as you and it would take a lot for me to not try and slap the teachers and the 8th grader...but just to play the other side, if you don't want to meet with them and he is leaving soon, why bother with the letter? Is it so that he is safe in school for the time being? Do you think they should change their rules or enforce their policy better? Did you just want to bring this to their attention, maybe apologize to DS or listen to the kids better? Sorry, I understand you are angry, and I would be too, but with this line I don't understand your intent :confused3

I am the same way. My dh used to take a late class on tuesdays.. I couldn't sleep until he got home..

"Hi, how are you?"

I'm not the type to start a conversation in the restroom but I don't know what got into me, so I answered, somewhat embarrassed,
"Doin' just fine!"

And the other person says:
"So what are you up to?"

What kind of question is that? At that point, I'm thinking this is too bizarre so I say:
"Uhhh, I'm like you, just traveling!"

At this point I am just trying to get out as fast as I can when I hear another question.
"Can I come over?"

Ok, this question is just too weird for me but I figured I could just be polite and end the conversation. I tell them
"No........I'm a little busy right now!!!"

Then I hear the person say nervously...

"Listen, I'll have to call you back. There's an idiot in the other stall who keeps answering all my questions

OH I have those days more than I want to admit. Trust me I felt like I went over the deep end a couple of weeks back. I threw my hands up in the air and I yelled "I give up". I can't win. So now the rules are different at my house. I tell Ashli something 2 times. By the 3rd time she is in time out. I got so tired of being the one that was upset all the time. Ashli and I have a better understanding now a days. She knows the game is over and that I mean business. And I feel like she respects that.

I know exactly where you are coming from. Trust me I only have one who is 6. I got tired of being the one upset over every little thing. I got tired of picking up after everyone. I can only do so much before it gets to me.

That is why I love you guys so much. I know that I am normal. I am not perfect and my Family is not perfect. Some days are just better than others.

Yep sounds like something I would want to do to DD. If I didn't cancel the party I would make sure she knows that her actions are going to cost her in other ways. Sometimes I have to remind her she is only 6 and I am THE MOM. She will NOT disrespect me.

That is what pushed me over the edge. Can't stand it. I wasn't allowed to do it my parents and I will be Darned if she will do it to me.

You know what. Honestly it went better than I expected. Ashli I think can relate to the rules. She goes to time out for 6 minutes. (I read they should go one min. for each year they are). Than she comes out and we talk about what went wrong and what we could have done to change things to make it better.
That way we all understand what happened.
If she whines and cries or more back talk on the way to time out I add a minute. She knows this. I don't have to yell anymore. Just calmly tell her to go to timeout. When we discuss it, I make sure she knows that I love her and we have rules for a reason. Just like traffic laws they are there for a reason. We don't always like them but we have to follow them.

You are strong and you will get thru this. :grouphug:

we just soak the shirts in soda ash
and then the dye is in squirt bottles

Running late. Had a friend that his SOON to be ex girlfriend put desiel gas in an unleaded car. he walked to our house (10 miles) and my dh lent him our extra car. DH is just now packing UGH!!! anyway i will be here atleast maybe another 30 min

This could happen to you.

I was barely sitting down when I heard a voice from the other stall saying:
"Hi, how are you?"

I'm not the type to start a conversation in the restroom but I don't know what got into me, so I answered, somewhat embarrassed,
"Doin' just fine!"

And the other person says:
"So what are you up to?"

What kind of question is that? At that point, I'm thinking this is too bizarre so I say:
"Uhhh, I'm like you, just traveling!"

At this point I am just trying to get out as fast as I can when I hear another question.
"Can I come over?"

Ok, this question is just too weird for me but I figured I could just be polite and end the conversation. I tell them
"No........I'm a little busy right now!!!"

Then I hear the person say nervously...

My DH loves hunting too. Do you have any good deer recipes? We usually ground most of our meat and make ground venison. I have this easy recipe for Buck Cakes. I brown the meat in butter, then I add bar-b-que sauce. I take biscuit dough and push then onto the sides of a greased cupcake pan. I fill the cupcakes with the meat mixture and add chedder cheese on top. I bake it in the oven to cook the cake and that is it....really yummy and DH and his friends love it.

By the way, Kelli, my DH said the archery thing at WDW next-next weekend is some kind of ESPN World Finals.

DH does something really good. He takes stew meat size pieces and pounds them out and dips them in some flour and spices. Than frys them in a little bit of oil with onions. VERY GOOD stuff.
