Mickey Mouse made his debut in Steamboat Willie on November 18, 1928, at the Colony Theater in New York.

Here is what I found.....

Mickey Mouse's Birthday. On Nov. 18, 1928, this squeaky-voiced cartoon character first appeared on the screen of the Colony Theatre in New York City. The film, Walt Disney's "Steamboat Willie," was the first animated talking cartoon picture.

So it appears he will be 77 years old tomorrow.

Last year we found out that they had the big US Chess Championship at the Swan while we were at WDW! We were so bummed b/c we had to leave the day of it. We had hoped that this year we would be there for it and Travis could compete, but it's in Houston.

I'm trying to figure out who my Christmas cards are from. I've received three so far from the anonymous Christmas Card exchange. I've gotten two figured out but still working on the third!

I signed up for five. So if you request 5 then you send five and you should receive five. They put clues inside instead of signing. Some of the clues match up with their screen name or a tag.

For example - I think I got one from clhcpaca. Inside it has a small pic of pooh, eeyore, tigger and piglet. It also has a black & white pic that is hard to see but it looks like garlic. It's postmarked from North Texas. I searched through the exchange thread and found that the tag for clhcpaca is "from the garlic capital of the world." She also has eeyore for her avatar and she's from TX. I have to post to make sure that's who it is from!

It's been fun!

No, you had to sign up for at least two. Or you could sign up for all. Or you could pick however many you wanted to. You also had the option to ask not to get any international names (which I opted not to get 'cause of the cost of postage).

eeyoresmountainpals
11-17-2005, 01:52 PM
Okay I would never have been able to come up with good clues as to who I was and I would NEVER have gotten that one.

I only got it from reading through the thread. If other people have gotten cards they also post who they got a card from, maybe what the card was like, etc. You can get clues that way, too.

That's really not that bad. Andrew went for a consultation a few months ago and his was gonna be over $4,000 just for braces. But our dental insurance doesn't cover anything on braces.

hi girls... can you tell me how this letter sounds

Mrs. MacFarlane,

I received your note about Darren not completing his homework. I am sorry he did not finish his whole assignment. I understand that you have taken away his recess for the rest of the week, is this due to his homework or some other issue that I am not aware of? We have spoke to Darren about the importance of completing his homework on time and bringing home the proper books to do so.

I also understand that he had a problem at aftercare with another student in his class. We have taken away his television privileges until Sunday, due to this incident and the homework issues from this week. I am little concerned about something Darren told me that happened at aftercare, he told me an 8th grade boy was pushing his head down to the table and taking away his belongings and hiding them. When he spoke to you and Mr. Cholette about it he was questioned about why the teachers did not see if happen. It makes me very upset to have his words questioned by two teachers, whom I feel he should be able to go to when problems arise. After speaking to Darren I understand that he spoke to the teachers about this 8th grader after he got in trouble for hitting his friend, but I still think that he shouldn’t have been brushed aside because he was in trouble. The incident with the other boy happened right before Darren got in trouble himself. Darren does not want this brought to Mrs. Coderre attention because he does not want to have a meeting between the other child and himself. He is afraid of retaliation from this older child

We feel that the no hitting policy is a great policy for a school to have. We understand why it is in place and we also understand why Darren needs to go see Mrs. Coderre about what happened on Thursday, what we don’t understand is why this policy is not the same for every child. When an 8th grader puts his hand on my child’s head there should be concequences for that child also.

I do not feel we need a meeting at this time due to the fact that he will be leaving St Josephs as soon we can get him into his new school.

Kelly Jacques

HOLY COW! Nobody touches my Child.

Other than that I think it sounds pretty good.

hi girls... can you tell me how this letter sounds

Mrs.

Kelly Jacques First off, I would be as upset as you and it would take a lot for me to not try and slap the teachers and the 8th grader...but just to play the other side, if you don't want to meet with them and he is leaving soon, why bother with the letter? Is it so that he is safe in school for the time being? Do you think they should change their rules or enforce their policy better? Did you just want to bring this to their attention, maybe apologize to DS or listen to the kids better? Sorry, I understand you are angry, and I would be too, but with this line I don't understand your intent :confused3

Okay Quick catch up just for you Tracy

Jessica started complaing her chest hurt so I took her to the Doctors
she has the same thing as last year
Chonrocondroitis ( i know it is spelled wrong)
it is the swelling of the cartlidge in her chest

last year the school nurse said she thought Jess was having a heart attck

it hurts real bad i guess

so she has been home yesterday and today
and most likely tomorrow

so anyway she was with my Mom today cause i had to work and
a dog bit her
just a little dog but it still hurt
