I would never pay that kind of money to go to a sporting event. We go to the Outback Bowl every year and that cost us a couple hundred dollars and it makes me upset.

And when we get tickets to the Bucs games. It is a couple hundred dollars by the time we get the tickets, parking and drinks on the inside. We always tailgate and drink outside. But even a water or soda is $4.00. :earseek:

But if you feel you deserve it, than by all means make sure they know you want it and feel you deserve it. Before you threaten to leave.

WOW! That's a long time! I've been at my job almost 5 years & I don't feel like I'm going anywher!! They just promoted someone in our department for the 2nd time & she's only been there for like 2 years!! I want the job she left, it should have been mine to begin with!
OK I have a question.....has anyone ever given their boss the old "If I don't get promoted I'm out of here!"? Yes, in a nice sort of way. I had an offer in another section and so I was contemplating leaving, so the promised to try and match it so I would stay. The next time they moved me up on their own so that I wouldn't look elsewhere. The only part of playing that game is that you have to be prepared to leave and have somewhere to go. My boss at that time could have easily told me "good luck on your new job" and that would have been the end of it :rotfl:

I mean it!! I didn't say it yet, but I talked to my manager yesterday b4 I knew she was getting promoted & I told her I wasn't happy in my position. I LOVE what I do, but I need more! I get pulled out of the flower shop to do so many other things, I help everyone out even though no one helps me, & I've never been in anykind of trouble at work b4. My boss tells me all the time that she loves having me there, but still no promotion! Yesterday she told me, if there was an open position, or a way to promote me they would do it. Now today there is a way so I went to talk to her again. We'll now I feel like she's giving me the run around!!

None!
It's still mild here...it has been rainy...but it's brightening up and the forecast is nice and warm for the weekend. The leaves are really turning though and beginning to fall...

No snow here either-but Kayla from NY(upstate) mentioned they got snow already-I just hope this winter isn't too cold-the cost of fuel is outragous-I was on hold with the gas/electric Co and they were proud of that fact that they held the cost of fuel to only 40-50% this year!!!Ok in what world do they live in where a 40-50% increase is a good thing :earseek:

I like the snow...when I am inside with a roaring fire and it's pretty and fluffy. But hate shovelling it and when it turns to ICE ...Yuck...that's not fun!
I wouldn't mind leaving it behind either and will one day if all goes according to plan! :wizard:
ckckc2000
10-27-2005, 12:08 AM
exactly-hate shoveling or since we have such a long double wide driveway trying to start the snow blower!!!!!
but soon....... all that will be a distant nightmare(although I was raised in Wisconsin and been here ever since) Atlanta looks mighty nice and warm-where we can head to the mountains if we want snow or stay put and enjoy the mild weather(all 4 seasons-just not extreme winters!!!)plus DH family lives on the NC/GA border and it will be nice to be closer to them
PS the white soxs just won the world series

Totally sounds like a great move!!

Yep and Tracy from this LTP board isn't going to be happy either-
We figured that we would move while 2 of our 3 kids are still young enough to stick around Atlanta area when they grow up since our Oldest doesn't want to have anything to do with living down there-but he's thinking about going into the Military and it wont matter to him where we live after that-now if I could just get him to graduate HS
ckckc2000
10-27-2005, 12:23 AM
I don't think I could ever do Florida-love to visit but not to live,I would miss the 4 seasons too much-this should be a good move plus we can get a home that would cost us over 400,00 here for under 200,000-finally I can get my dream home without losing my arms and legs :rotfl:

No problem..I got tossed off of here and had to reboot!
I thought my foot, as it so often does, had kicked a plug out so I had to brave it and go under the desk with all the dustbunnies! Not pretty under there!
I like the Seasons too....not so much the Winter one...but all the others!
My kids were a real 'fly in the ointment' when we moved as well. We procrastinated too long and they found it very tough to settle..oh well, we'll be old and grey before you know it and then we can be Snowbirds! :teeth:

Thanks! Now I have to spend some big $$ on shirts...
I'm thinking 3 shirts each.. 8 of us... = 24 shirts.. plus I want to make one of these for my cousins family who's going to be there a couple of days with us... +3 = 27.. but then I feel bad that I'll only be making them one shirt, and us 3.. so maybe I'll make them 3 too = 33.. but I want to make Griffin a birthday shirt since it will be his birthday.. = 34..etc,etc, etc.
