:rotfl: Good thing I only bought a few of my favorites :rotfl: I bought mostly what Andie likes, she get's to keep what we don't give out
I am so bad...I made googie bags for the kids to take to school and then goodie bags for the party we went to last night...so I forgot about tonight (actual Halloween) and something for my neices and nephews....I have some chips and goodies in the pantry from when I made soccer snacks, so I might do that when I get home...a small bag of chips and a juice for the kids...there is only a few of them, so it shouldn't be too bad.

Well, it didn't go exactly how I thought it would, one way or the other! i went and talked to her, and she said they have already had about 10 people apply for the postion since Thru. when I talked to her!! She said I will have to interview for it! I can't believe it!! What happened to promotion from within the company! I'm mad but I know it's right. So I have an interview with the person I already work for later this week.

The numbers of TOTers has been going down here every year now. Last year we had 180. While only a few years earlier, we had over 300 TOTers. My grandparents do a count every year, but there out of town so we don't know how many there were. Now there are other subdivisions to go to insted of ours :(

EVERYTHING!!
how was your hotel?
Wonderful, absolutely wonderful.
how were the parks?
MK, Epcot, and MGM were great. It was unanimous that we do not like AK. Last year was the first time we had gone there and we didn't like it. We went back to see if we had been wrong last year and we were all in agreement that we had not been wrong. We just don't like AK>
where did you eat?
Lots of counter service and the concierge lounge. Only a few table service meals. Chef Mickeys was very good, Concourse Steakhouse was HORRIBLE!
what rides were your fav?
Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain, Mickey's Philharmagic, Test Track, and Soarin'
least fav?
Hmmmmm! Gotta think about this one.
etc, etc, etc!!!!
Lots of etc, etc, etc. Will post more as I can!

Let's see, Saturday night we got there and it was pouring! Surprised the boys with the fact that we had ressies for the Contemporary. They were all excited. Had dinner at Chef Mickey's, very nice. All the boys loved the characters. Rained all night but we still went swimming in between raindrops. Boys liked the Contemporary but we all agreed that the POLY is much nicer. Checked out Sunday morning and went to the Polynesian for the beginning of our real vacation! :goodvibes

We got to the POLY at 8:50 a.m. and our room was ready! It was beautiful. We settled into the room and I received a call on my cell phone from Kelli welcoming us to FL. It was such a nice surprise! We went into MK and rode some of the rides and then Kelli, her DH and DD met us for a little while at MK. It was so great to meet her and her wonderful family.

Let me tell you something. That pancake mix was SO hard to get off. I used a spoon and it was still taken forever. After I got most of it off, I ended up wetting the shirt to get the rest of it off.
Man oh man I will not let it dry that long again.

It was so funny though, I have been trying to save $ for our trip (and just in general...things keep popping up here too) and when I called to thank him he was worried I would be upset he bought flowers :rotfl:

DD is potty trained but I am still talking 12 pullups on the plane for the off chance she gets the runs :confused3 I have short sleeve t-shirts, long sleeve t-shirts, two jackets, shorts, three pair of jeans and two soft pants for each kid...plus I plan on washing clothes every few days :rotfl: :rotfl: But, my kids are really messy too. If they eat ice cream in the park that is an almost guarantee they need to change clothes. I usually also plan by what I can take. This time, I don't need to take car seats on the plane so each person can have their on piece of luggage, so I can take more. If I were driving down and my van would only fit so much, I would take less....

I'm not ignoring you guys, honest. I'm just playing catch-up with everything else that I didn't get done while we were away. And now DS just told me he forgot his planner at school - which has all his makeup work written in it - so we have to go down to the school and hope that it's unlocked!
But I am thinking of everyone here on the dis! :teeth:

Our last trip I made the kids some and they were a BIG hit with the characters!! I just can't find the same book that I got last year. I am totally bummed about that. I already started packing too and yes, it is part of my fun...but I felt bad for DS, he is just as excited to go as I am and was already packing his DVDs and favorite stuffed animal. Each time we went to Disneyland I did books....since we did that already, I didn't want to do it again. So, I found on this board the idea of a t-shirt or pillow case. I am doing the pillow cases.
You take a plastic hoop for sewing and cut a peice of foam to fit the center, smaller hoop. Then, you hot glue it in. (I bought one hard foam and my dad cut the shape for me then cut the foam into two thinner layers with his woodworking saw). Then, I cut out buzz, Mickey and princesses from a peice of fabric I bought and then applied them to the pillow cases. I also stiched around the princess fabric a little. So, DS has Buzz on one side and ::MickeyMo on the other. DD has the princesses on one side and ::MickeyMo on the other. I also bought some fabric pens. Then, in theory, when we get to the park I can put the pillow case in the hoop and the characters can sign the pillow case. The foam is hard so it should be easy to sign and thick so the ink won't bleed to the other side. They also said that some characters like Buzz stamp their name and so when you get back to the room you can trace his name with a fabric pen....hopefully it works out well.

The older girl was teasing the younger girl, I think because she put her underwear on backwards or something. I stopped the teasing and continued getting my DD dressed. Then, the older girl (who is 9 but is very thin) realized she didn't bring underwear. So, since I packed about 4 undies for my DD (who is 3 1/2 and also thin) I give one to my niece...and it fit her. It was somewhat funny since she had been teasing her little sis about 2 minutes prior

Wow that sounds very cool. I hope it works. I figured a pillow case would get more use since it is bigger (more white space to write) and the kids outgrow clothes so fast.

I think this year I may do the index cards. Only have each character sign one, then do a trip book at home and just put pictures around the signature.
I will have to see what my kids want to do. they may all want to get their own signatures again... well dd and ds5 may be the only ones.

We did the books in Disneyland where they sign the bottom and you can put the picture in the top...it was really cute, except that DD wasn't always agreeable to talking pictures with characters and facing the camera...she would just stare at them...and at the character meals she was more interested in eating :rotfl: my DS would take two books with him all the time....This year I thought the pillow would be easier and I could skip the pressure of having a nice photo with the character and everyone looking at the camera :rotfl: Maybe this time I can eat and DH can take them
I think this year I may do the index cards. I wonder if you could take the index cards to a Kinkos or OfficeMax and have them bound the cards into a book. That would be really cool....maybe put one blank card on the top as a "title sheet" and then when that card flips up glue a picture of Mickey there and on the bottom card have Mickey's signature and then when Mickey's signature card flips up have a picture of Minnie on the back and then the next bottom card will be Minnie's signature and so on...does this make sense in your mind or only mine? :confused3

No it wasn't today, but I still have to make up my mind Easy for me to say and I know it is hard to do...but maybe try not to worry about it too much. Just go into the interview with a positive outlook and then see what happens.....maybe the way the interview goes will help you decide.

I don't know if you remember, but I posted awhile back about me having surgery. Well I talked to my Dr today & he wants me to have it. BUT I don't know what to do, I can't have it if I take a new postion b/c I will be in a probationary period for 6 months & I don't know if they will wait for me to come back. BUT if I don't take it I will feel stupid b/c I hate the job I have now & there won't be another postion for me for a VERY VERY long time
well I am off again.. darren is not feeling well tonight!!! I hope he feels better.

How long will you be out if you have the surgery? If it is more for health reasons than cosmetic, I would think you should be your health first....but, I can relate to being unhappy at work :guilty: It is a hard choice

I will have to be out anywhere from 6 to 8 weeks. I'm wondering if I should just tell her I don't want the postion anymore, or if I should tell her what's going on, or if I should just interview for it & go from there

& yeah it is more for health reasons, I have major family history & the Dr said from my test results it looks like I may be pre-diabetic

I'm wondering if I should just tell her I don't want the postion anymore, or if I should tell her what's going on, or if I should just interview for it & go from there I don't know how it is where you work, but some places can't discriminate for health reasons. I went to an interview pregnant before and they had to interview me and didn't bring up the pregnancy directly (I was about 6 or 7 months along so it was obvious). Turns out they didn't care about the pregnancy, they really needed help and were willing to train me before the baby came.
To be safe, if you want the job, maybe you should interview at the end of the week and then let them know about the surgery when it is scheduled? Do you think they would fire you or move you back to your current job?

I honestly don't know what they will do Lyn :confused3 I want to let them know b/c I would hate for them to be mad about it b/c I was dishonest about it.

I've been talking to my mom about it, & I think I will just wait & see what happens. IF I get the new postition, I might be able to work till Jan. b4 I have it, that will get us thru the busiest time of year for us, if I don't get it then I will have it right away and deal with a job I love but co-workers who drive me crazy

:grouphug: to you Tracy! :grouphug:
This is going to be such a tough week for you.
I think you should go to the interview and show them how great you are.
Just because you may be having surgery later in the year doesn't mean they have to know about it! When the time comes they will work it out.. just like with any other employee.

The only thing is last time I went to the Dr I asked how soon after I got clearence would the surgery happen, they said in about a week!! it would all happen really quickly, then I would have to be out for 6-8 weeks :earseek:

She hasn't really said. But I think it will happen pretty soon b/c x-mas is a really busy time for us
This is Lyn's evil side:
If you don't get the new job and you are out for the 6-8 busy weeks of Christmas that would be really nice and relaxing.

Ok I talked it over with all of you, my mom, and a coworker/good friend & have come up with an answer. If I get it I will wait till Jan. to have the surg. If I don't get it I will have it right away. Win win for me in a way.
Thanks all for listening to me again! You are all the best!! :grouphug:
