They are saying that when it hits the Gulf waters (which is cooler right now) it will weaken the storm. Plus the sheer winds will slow it down.

Right now projected path is Naples. But that can change at any moment.

On the bright side (if there is one) it seems as though it will move really fast over the state...hopefully that will lesson the flooding potential. If you have to evacuate, I would think that WDW is one of the best places to have a room reservation....isn't it built to Cat. 5 standards?

As long as it hit south of Tampa we will be on the better side of the storm. We will be getting the wind from inland. The right side of the storm is the stronger side.
