Cute shirts! I used that Disney Bride logo too!:goodvibes
Everything looks great!
Thank you!! :goodvibes
Hey I dunno *** planet I've been living on, but I love your tiara -- where did you get it? :goodvibes
I got it on ebay which is also where I got a lot of other things. I have recently come to see the wonder that is Ebay!!
Val, We were in the park for about 2 hours, maybe. Since my wedding was early, we went in about an hour after dark - after most of the friends and the relatives finally left. It was kind of hard not to miss the hairdoo and thehuge flowing cream silk skirt sticking out of a hip length black leather jacket, walking around with 4 guys in tuxes and 3 girls in burgundy satin. We were pretty obvious if you looked! :dance3:  :dance3:
Wearing the dress had a couple perks.... The CM for Space Mountain had let us in the Fast Pass line when we walked up, because he saw it! It's a shame it broke down right before we got on. The whole wedding party was there with us, so we wanted to get the photo!
I would defintely walk DTD with my wedding party (post-reception). You will have the best time with the tourists! I would describe it as almost the same rush that the girls who are "friends with the Princesses" get when they come out from Backstage and get noticed by all of the little kids!
I'll definitely see if I can't scan some photos in and post them.
Nancy
I would love to see some of your pictures! Sounds like you had a great time.
Aww Val the shirts look great :)
Thank you!
Whew! Just finished reading your whole PJ! I don't know how I missed it until now! You must be getting super excited for your planning session!
Everything looks great! Is the time flying by for you still? I know it has been for me!
Can't wait to read more!
Yes, time is passing much quicker than I realized! I am very excited for the trip to DL. My mom is now talking about going down to Disney in November too!! :cool1: I haven't been during the holidays in FOREVER!!!

So, just a quick note but quite a few things have been bought this weekend. We wanted to get bath salts for the welcome bags and were going to do the ones from the Knot but kept waiting for them to go on sale. Well, I decided to check out Ebay. I found 50 little bags of bath salt for like $20 or something. We are going to get the little organzaa bags to stick them in. Also, since I'm having the ceremony outside I thought those little silk fans would be cute for guests. Well, I decided to do the sandalwood fans and was all ready to order them from the Knot when I thought EBAY!!! Found practically the same ones for 1/2 the price! YAY!!!
Also we ordered my veils. I don't know which one I will want to wear: the chapel length or the fingertip length. I might wear both or I might not. I ordered them both in ivory to match the dress.
Also, my grandma has been buying every pair of earrings she likes for me to wear at the wedding. Well I finally stopped by her house today to look at them and I LOVE one of them. Just very pretty studs and very sparkly. So, I'm very excited about that. I'll try to post some pics tonight because I have to go to work. :(

Thank you ponchos! Funny, we are trying to decide if we should buy some ahead of time for Val's welcome bags. What does anybody think? I know sometimes I don't want to get wet on Grizzly Rapids!
C4alymom, I may have asked you this elsewhere on the board, but if I did I don't remember, so forgive me!
What part of Arizona are you from?
There are a few of us here, we need to plan a meet!
After Val's planning session, which is now less than 2 weeks away!!!!!!!!! :cool1:
Mama~
I am in Gilbert, work in Chandler, but have LOTS of family in Mesa. So I am all over! We should plan a meet. It would be nice to finally meet others who are as Disney crazed as me!

This time next week I'll be in Disneyland!!!! I can't wait!! Okay, so I have been trying and trying to get a pic of the earrings but I can't. I'm no good at pictures so I went to the website and I can't save the pic from their either. So I'll just add the link. HERE. (http://www.qvc.com/qic/qvcapp.aspx/view.2/app.detail/params.CM_SCID.coll) Let me tell you girls, they look amazing in person!!! Okay, well the links not working. Man- QVC is like on lockdown!!! I can't believe it! If you are bored they are from QVC the Tacori collection Epiphany crescent bloom earrings. I guess I'll try to get DF to take a pic. My hand are too wobbly.
Also, another bit of fabulous news: At the last minute my Mom thought having an engagment photo session in Disney would be fun. So after e-mails back and forth all day yesterday we are going to have an engagement photo shoot next Wednesday after my hair and make up trial. YAY!!!! I'm so excited!! We will probably get a some pics in the park so I just have to come up with some ideas on where. OH- and pick out something to wear, and get DF's hair cut, and pick out something for HIM to wear. All exciting things though.
I can't wait to spend a few days in Disney air. And do some planning for the wedding. We should be getting our bags to get to work on the Welcome bags sometime this week. But, my schedule is a little different at work so we might not be able to get to them until after the trip.

:cool1: That is so great that you'll be able to get some engagement pictures done while you're at Disneyland. We did some when we were in Florida for our planning session too. I did them the day of my hair and makeup trail and it worked out perfect. My lady did my hair up with the veil and tiara then took it out and made it slightly different since she knew I was getting my engagement pictures done that way. She said she wanted to make sure it was a little different than what I was actually going to have for the wedding :cutie:
I can't wait to hear about your trip once you get back, I know how exciting it can be when you finally get to do the planning!!!

Engagement shoot at Disney sounds like so much fun Val! I actually thought of that, but then we are getting married there, so all our wedding portraits will be at the hotel, maybe at the Neverland Pool, and then we'd have a whole bunch of pictures of us at Disneyland, and none anywhere else, though I do love Disneyland. It's quite a conundrumumumum.
We were thinking of Christmastime in Old Town Pasadena, since we used to spend a lot of time there when we first started dating, or the beach, cuz we both like the ocean, we will have to wait and see. I hope you have a great Planning trip!

I'm still uploading pics into photobucket but I wanted to get started while I still remember things!!! Our flight left at 6:05 am! :scared1: So, Dan and I woke up at 3:40 and were at my mom's house by 4:00. Luckily we live very close and I had taken care of everything the night before. So, we get here and drop our doggy off and by 4:30 we are on our way to the airport. No problems with security- Dan's name is on the watch list so sometimes that gives us some trouble. No reason, just because it's similiar to someone they need to be worried about. Anway- here are some pics in the plane on our way. We are all very tired and I don't look my best so bear with me!
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg273/IndyBride/planningsessiontrip-Val001.jpg
And here is my Mom and sister behind us!
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg273/IndyBride/planningsessiontrip-Val002.jpg
So, we get to the Grand Californian with no problems and check in. Of course our room isn't ready yet because it's like 8 in the morning. So, we head up to the Concierge's lounge and get some food. And coffee!! Here is my first Disney meal.
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg273/IndyBride/planningsessiontrip-Val003.jpg
After grabbing our food we head to the monorail, the park had early entry which we missed but we still got there really early. Our first official ride is Buzz LightYear Astro Blasters. We ride a few rides and head back to the hotel because we are supposed to meet the DJ.
Well, the DJ had been there for like two hours and I tell him he should have called me and he wouldn't have had to wait. So, it was a very quick meeting. I got a good feeling from him. He was a little more quiet than I expected from a DJ but he definatly sounded like he knew what he was doing. He sounded like he can read a crowd well. After that we decide to go look at the Rose Court Garden because Dan and my sister hadn't seen it. It was so beautiful!! Even more amazing than I remember because the flowers were in bloom!! I'll be so dissappointed if the roses aren't in bloom for the wedding because we moved it up a couple weeks. But, I think they will be. Here's a pic-

Okay, so we head from the RCG back to the Grand so we can have our planning session. The planning session was in one of the conference rooms right next to where our reception is going to be. Our planner wasn't there yet but there was a server who took us into the room and got us drinks. I had already had a LOT of coffee and coke so I opted to stick with water. The place settings were set up and we looked at the napkin folds. Of course Dan and I wanted different ones. I asked the servers about maybe alternating the one I liked with the one Dan liked. They said, of course we can do that. :cool1:
Well, since our planner wasn't there yet the server let us peek at the Wisteria room and "patio" becuase Dan hadn't seen it yet. I say "patio" because it's really just a slab of cement but- it's where the bar is so it's going to be my favorite place!!! :drinking1 After we get back into the room where the planning session is they bring out the bread that is served with pretty rose butters. The bread is made at Le Brea bakery in DTD which I LOVE! I'm very excited about the bread!
The planner finally gets their saying she was waiting for Beth the entertainment coordinator who was going to be late. So, she asks us what napkin fold we like and I mention having two different ones. That didn't go over too well. I think she said, "Well, we COULD do both. But, I think you should pick one or the other. I mean we could do both but I would pick one or the other" She said that a couple times when I finally decided to go with the fleur de le (or however you spell it) becuase that's the one Dan likes and everyone suggested higher ones. I said- it's just napkins, no one will remember. Then, they bring out the food!!! The salad we chose is a caprese salad with some greens on top. They pour the balsamic vinagrette at the table over the salad. It was sooooo good! The fresh mozzerella was so delicious and the tomatoes were nice and sweet. And big basil leaves! YUMMY!!!
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg273/IndyBride/planningsessiontrip-Val035.jpg
Next came out the entrees. They had a four compartment plate with both entrees were are going to serve. Both were delicous!! Also the veggies were great! I LOVE veggies!
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg273/IndyBride/planningsessiontrip-Val036.jpg
This is the steak and lobster tail! Very yummy. They served the steak medium with mashed potatoes which were delicious!! Definatly my meal for the reception. :)
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg273/IndyBride/planningsessiontrip-Val038.jpg
This is the roasted lemon myer chicken and braised short ribs. The ribs were so tender! Just fell apart with your fork. I got these particularly for my sister- she's not a fan of seafood but I knew she'd love this meal. My mom is pretty sure this is the meal she is eating- she loved it! The chicken had great flavor as well. Up next... dessert!
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg273/IndyBride/planningsessiontrip-Val039.jpg
I orignally wanted individual fondue but I had a creme brulee which reminded me how much I LOVE it. So, that's what we had the the pastry chef made heart shaped coconut macaroons to go with! It was so good but I could only eat 1/2 because I was getting so full. I regret that now. :lmao:
Then we were served coffee which was great and I needed it! At this point it is like two in the afternoon!
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg273/IndyBride/momsplanningsessionpics016.jpg
Here is the cake we had to sample!! Oh- it was all so yummy!!! We then showed the cake decorator our Mickey Mad Hatter cake that I loved! She looked a little scared to be honest! Our wedding planner said she would try to track to contact Florida for some help. I figured that won't be too hard and didn't understand why everyone was making such a big deal about it.
So by now I am stuffed and exhausted! Of course, this is when the real planning begins! Dan is falling asleep next to me and everyone sort of comes and goes. When we get to linens I decide on floor length black table cloths with black chair covers. Beth, my entertainment director who is so nice, tells me of some napkins in silver that are two toned with black with will pull it all together. She then tells me we have to use the napkin fold I like because they aren't stiff enough. I found that funny after all the napkin talk earlier.
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg273/IndyBride/planningsessiontrip-Val031.jpg
So, we get into having Mickey and Minnie the type of floral I want and $250 center pieces!! I couldn't believe it! For three glass tubes with water and flowers- we are having those on two tables and something else on the other three. I was so tired at this point, I was having trouble concentrating and had trouble caring what the centerpeices were to be honest. The session lasted about an hour and a half and I was so overloaded with info! I two weeks or so I should have my BEO and in a month or so I should have my floral BEO. Until then, I get all I want!!! :cloud9:

I forgot all about my favor let down!!!!! I wanted to do mickey rice crispy treats as my favors but apparently Disney does not offer favors other than chocolate. Not quite what I wanted. I think I'll ask my entertainment director for some favor ideas that they can do. She mentioned some sort of chocolate frame but... I don't know. I just don't want to worry about it the day of.

Do not overthink anything I say or anyone else says, its's a great way to drive yourself nuts, especially as the wedding edges nearer! :lmao:
So glad to have you back Val, well on the board, you were actually closer when you were at Disneyland. I am so glad you had a good time. All your tasting and menu choices sound delicious! I should have come to see you, but you were on a whirlwind trip. Although I should have told you and the offer stands as your wedding draws nearer call me when your down here if you ever need anything, I'll PM with my number.
Can't wait until your engagement pix come back, DCA is a great place to take photos! I'm envisioning sunset shots with the ferris wheel in the background and shots in the San Francisco Palace of the Fine Arts now! I wonder if DF would go for it :confused3 Although I would probably have to buy my photographer park admission. . .
Today my ticker says 9 months and 4 weeks, so this is definitely creeping up on us.

Mamma...
Val is totally cute and she looks JUST LIKE YOU!
I'm wondering if you cried during your planning sessions?...
I'm a big crier and I couldn't keep enough kleenex around when we were there... and we had three 2 hour visits!... :rotfl:
PS... I'm crying NOW just remembering it! :lmao:
Mama of Indybride
07-27-2008, 12:46 PM
Oddly enough, I did not cry! I have been welling up for weeks whenever I think about it, but did not cry at the PS.
I think it is because we were totally exhausted from our night before.
In Arizona, we have our Monsoon season, in July and August, when we get heavy rains and high winds...
So the night before we are going to leave, when we were going to be packing and getting all the loose ends tied up, we get a huge storm that tore out a tree at Val's house, and tore some of our tree limbs off, and dumped inches of rain in like 30 minutes, and tore out all of the POWER LINES leading up to our power grid (if that's what you call it).
So it's like 105 degrees, no power, no lights, and it was out for 6 hours until about midnight, so any rest we got was very fitful, because it was so darn hot!!! (Val lives 5 minutes away and did not lose power, so got to sleep with the luxury of air conditioning and got to finish her packing that night)
Then when everything came on at midnight, I had to get up and go through the house and shut everything off that came on, but the sound of AC was a blessing! Val's sister, Tori, had come up that day, she and my DH were sawing logs and didn't even move, but DH hadn't gone to sleep until about 10:30, which is very late for him because he get's up about 4 am for work.
We had to get up to get ready to go at 3:30 in the morning, and just felt kind of queasy because of lack of sleep.
Hence my absolute bad hair, I had taken a shower and washed it and was getting ready to style it when we lost power. It never really recovered the entire trip!
So after the tasting session and we were stuffed with all that good food, and she started making her choices for floral etc, I think we were all sort of numb.
But we did manage to stagger back to the park to use our FastPass on Indiana Jones and Space that we had gotten earlier!!! :woohoo:

Okay, I realized that I didn't mention the flowers at all! I am going to carry a rose bouquet with champagne and sterling silver colored roses. The BM bouquet will have lavender hydrangeas and sterling silver roses. There will be a large spray over the gazebo with champagne and sterling silver roses with a little bit of greenery. I will also have a cotton chiffon draping going down the aisle with some more roses!!! It's going to be so pretty! I only have one pic for the ceremony decor.
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg273/IndyBride/ceremonydecor.jpg
We will have a runner that says "And they lived happily ever after". When I mentioned we were getting a runner from an outside company Beth knew exactly which company I was using!! I have a feeling that's where they order their from because I'm getting the SAME on that another bride used from Disney.
Now for the second day. My Mom and Todd let us sleep in so we didn't get up until eight and dilly-dallied around. Dan got ready first and went up to the lounge to bring down some coffee and bagels for me and my sister. So, my sister and I got ready and we all went up to the lounge for some fruit and I wanted to see if my computer would work. I was devestated that my internet was not working. :badpc: Well, we get up there and I get a text from my mother saying she and Todd would be up in the room around 930. We had a plan to get onto Toy Story Midway Mania. Well, they change their mind and want us to meet them up front in the esplanade. So we rush up there and stand in line for the best ride ever!! This is a pic after the ride...

We had a fast pass for Tower of Terror that was good at 12:35. I had my hair and make up at 1 that my sister was going to attend so she could take pictures. My mom, Todd, and Dan were going to a DVC thing because my mom was thinking about joining. ( I will let her tell you about that BIG decision. :rolleyes1 ) Well, we had about ten minutes to get from ToT to the Grand. Luckily we were just walking past Napa Rose (which I still haven't eaten at. :sad2: ) when Andrea called me saying she was waiting by the piano in the hotel. That was my meeting place for everyone because it was easy to see.
My sister and I met up with her and took her to our room. As she was getting ready I proceeded to make myself a drink- Aboslute Ruby Red and Sprite. We ransacked a local Walgreens for tiny bottles of vodka to make drinks in the room. And the 6:05 AM flight. Well, I didn't have any but everyone else did. That's too early for anything but coffee! :rotfl:
So, first she asks me what words I wanted to come to people's mind as I walked down the aisle. I said: fabulous! Also not trendy. I thought I wanted a hair style that was down or half up but, I kept going back to lower buns. So, that's what she did. As she was doing my hair I was reaching across the table for my drink and burned my arm on the curling iron! :scared1: OW!!! It is still painful!
She asked me about how much makeup I wear and circled a number 4 on a 1-5 after I told her. I said I wanted to focus on my eyes because Dan doesn't like lipstick. He wipes it off my lips if he notices it on me. *controlling much??* Here are some pics. I brought my tiara and veils.

My sister did a great job documenting the event for my Mom. She was always taking pictures and telling me I was moving too much. Andrea was great to work with and is so nice. I'm really excited to work with her.
Well, it only took about an hour and a half and we hadn't heard from anyone else so I called Dan. He said he would wait downstairs for me and to call when everyone had seem him. I said don't wait downstairs and I'll stay in the bedroom. My mom and Todd come into the room and Dan wasn't with them because I guess they told him he couldn't come in. Well, after they look at me I start to take out my hair so Dan doesn't see it. 1/2 is straight and 1/2 is curled because of the style. I change my eye make up and wipe off some of the foundation and blush. I told him I changed my make up completly because he didn't want to see me in it.
I've always wanted to go to the Cove Bar in DCA so my Mom said we should get a drink before the pictures. We went over there and got ignored. Now, I understand Disney is busy and sometimes move a little slow. But, we were there about ten minutes and NO ONE had come over to help out. Dan and my sister even went and sat at the bar and no one had helped them. :snooty: We decide we can get the same drinks everywhere and head off to Napa Rose to have a drink. We think it was closed because we walked in and everyone ignored us. Perhaps we are not meant to drink before pictures. We decide to run to Carmen at the Hearthstone Lounge. Carmen is so nice, slow but nice. So Carmen takes care of us and we all have a drink.
Then Dan runs up stairs to get in the shower. We decide to meet him up in the Lounge. We finish our drinks and head up to the room so I can get ready in my dress for the pics. We head up to the lounge and I order a glass of wine when I realize we need a ticket for the photographer. So I walk out to the concierges desk and poof! pixiedust: I have a one day one park ticket in my hand. I run back into the lounge gather Dan and we run down to the room for a second. In the room I remember reading on the website that payment is due the day of engagement photography. So, I call my sister cause I thought her copy of my Mom's cc was in the room. She said she had it and she'll meet me downstairs. Dan and I get into the elevator and once in the lobby my passes us. Dan says Hi and she looks back for a second with a look on her face like she was going to kill someone. I guess I started so chaos because my Mom thought the photographer was demanding payment when it was me. The photographer was really sweet and I'll finish when I get the engagement pics. But- it was AWESOME!! She e-mailed me and said she has never taken so many pics at an engagement. She said each pic looks like a whole new place because everything is themed so well. I can't wait to see them!!! :goodvibes

:cloud9:
Yummy the food looks great..I wonder if they would do the same for me at Grand Floridian. I go for my PS sometime in Oct and Need to give them a list of what I want they gave me some sample menus but they weren't for us.
What do you think? LOL:rotfl:

I did not think anything could top the filet and lobster.
But OMG....those ribs was GOOD!!!! Braised short ribs, and the chicken just melted in your mouth too.
I can make a lobster tail any day..the filet was perfectly prepared, and FDSIL who is an absolute carnivore wouldn't imagine not devouring that steak, but the flavor in that chicken and short ribs still lingers in my mind.
And the mashed taters were yummy too!!!

The cake flavors were: yellow cake with custard and fresh strawberries, marble cake with tiramisu filling, and pound cake with raspberry filling. We decided to add fresh raspberries to the raspberry filling because my Mom love them. Also we are using the marble cake instead of pound cake.

Val,
We brought our own favors, so why don't you just go into Marceline's or into the park and just buy a crapload of the Rice Krispy Mickeys and have someone go in and set them on the bread plates before the reception starts. That would be so easy - I'll bet with the amount you need and the money that would cost, that concierge can get them for you.

Actually my ring isn't a hidden Mickey. My DF saw it at the store and the three diamonds on the side reminded him of the earings I always wear...My Mickey ones. Okay, back to the story!!
So, we meet the photographer and I tell her we want to go into DCA for some pics. I had previously asked my wedding planner who had the sage advice of don't get caught! :lmao: She said she has photographers go in a couple times a month and have never had trouble. We quickly come up with a plan that our photographer is our friend sharing a room with us, just in case! And a good thing too! We were just getting a few shots in the hotel near the pool between Napa Rose and White Water Snacks when a security starts to question us. Luckily my photographer was a fast talker and she left us alone! So, we run into the park and begin our photo extravaganzaa! We started out by Grizzly Rapids, head down towards the boardwalk at the ampitheather. Take a few near the jelly fish ride, walk around to the boardwalk where the games are. We didn't get any near Screamin because there were SO many people. Take a few pics on the bridge over looking the boardwalk. A couple pics at the bridge towards the food area that looks like a peir. I'm really excited for those pics because he was dipping me. That was fun!!
I have to say that I haven't had my picture professionaly taken since High School so I felt a little strange. Apparently people were staring at us the whole time but I didn't notice. People were however, very conscious about walking through our shots. That surprised me because normally people wander about aimlessly right through shots. But, I guess we were a little dressed up for walking around the park. :rotfl:
After the bridge we head towards the Vineyards and get some shots with that background. Then another shot with Grizzly rapids only on the other side of it. Head to Sun Plaza for a few pics and then down towards the Hollywood Backlots. We got two different spots there one is against a store front that will be awesome!! So, as you can see we got a ton of variety!! I'm so glad I made us go into the park. I was worried it wouldn't be worth the park ticket money but with the variety we got so worth it! The best part was our photographer was so excited to get some of the shots so that made it even more fun! :woohoo: We spent about two hours getting pictures before we got all the shots we wanted.
We met the rest of the family in the room and decide to use our fast passes from Indiana and Space. I LOVE Indy! (or have I mentioned that??) Well, after we ride I realize that Dan is starving and I'm quite hungry myself. So, we decide to forget Space and head to DTD and the Uva Bar for some late dinner. Tasty drinks and late dinner! Then, we head to bed!
I know there weren't any pictures! I'm sorry! I'm a bad DisBride! :guilty: But, I promise I have lots of pics for our last day and as soon as I get my disc from my photographer I will post them.

Hey Val. I assumed that I might be helpful and try to figure out how to make it more convenient for you to acquire on the Rice Krispy treats, so you don't have the hassle. So....... since I was in the park yesterday, I did some research on it while waiting for my friend and our daughters to get off a ride. Hope you don't think I'm being pushy! :)
I was in the Postcards From California candy shop in DCA and saw that they had them prepackaged in the case with the candy, cookies, and other treats. I told them that I had a friend getting married at the GCH and that she was interested in getting a bulk purchased for wedding favors and asked what kind of hoops she needed to go through to get them conveniently. Ines went back to ask her lead.
The answer: Concierge at the hotel can order them for you (and probably pick them up and have them waiting for you at the hotel). If they don't, you can order them directly from the store by Tuesday the week of your wedding. They do all of their ordering on Tuesday and that would ensure they had the quantity you needed by Friday (before a Saturday wedding for example).
Hope that possibly helps you!

Thank you for asking questions for me! I will probably end up doing something along those lines! Perhaps I will throw the favors in a basket for people to take instead of placing them at the place settings. That way it's easier and I don't have to run around in my dress! ;)

On our last day at Disneyland we wake up for early entry. We have a plan from the start: hit DL and maybe go on Nemo. Then run over to Toy Story a little before opening. There was not much time for breakfast so we all run up to the lounge and grap a muffin or something. Something we can walk with. So we get in to DL and run to space mountain. We decide next to go on Astro Blasters. It was very early in the morning so I don't remember many of the rides we go on. We walk over to Adventureland and realize we have 25 minutes until the rides open. So we do Snow White in fantasyland. Peter Pan would have been preferable but the line was already full! So after Indiana we head over to wait in line for Toy Story. We got in line about 20 minutes before it opened and were so excited when the line started moving. Then the line stopped.
CM came over to tell us the ride would not be opening at park opening and they didn't know when it would. So we decide to wait in line until 10:40 to see if it starts up. We had to get to the hotel room to put our bags in storage because we were checking out that day. Well, around 10:15 my Mom tells us to go to the room and take all the luggage downstairs and to meet them back there when we were done. We were a little sad that we might miss the ride but we ran as fast as we could to the room. We get to the room and I call the Bell Hop because I didn't think we'd be able to carry all the bags. Two seconds later my Mom and Todd open the door.
We decide to do screamin and while we are doing that my Mom sees that Toy Story is open! :cool1: So after that we get in line. At this point it is almost 11 and some of us are STARVING!!!!!!!! So, Dan and my sister run to the Chimmichanga line because we assume it's open. Well, all they have are turkey legs. We figure by the time we get off the ride for sure there would be chimmis! :thumbsup2 Little did we know what was to come...
Here's a pic of Dan and my Sister having fun in line!
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg273/IndyBride/planningsessiontrip-Val088.jpg
So we run out of the ride as fast as we can to get to the chimmis. And still NONE!!!!! At this point I'm starting to get dizzy because I haven't eaten, Dan was getting angry because we LOVE the chimmis. MY sister is a little sick from not eating. So we walk down to the Margarita area and get in the first line there. My sister and I decide to split a sandwhich at the Boudin place. I took a pic but it was a second too late!! But the sandwhich was delicous!!
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg273/IndyBride/planningsessiontrip-Val090.jpg
The Margarita place opens so my Mom, sister and I get one. We walk around the park while we drink and head somewhere I had never been. To the fair in Bugsland. It was so cute!! I got a ton of pics! There was a bumper car ride with Tuck and Roll that Dan and my sister did. They could only move about 2 MPH and were only allowed to go in a circle and couldn't really bump into one another. But, the still had fun!
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg273/IndyBride/planningsessiontrip-Val097.jpg
Then we go on Heimlich's train ride. It was soo cute! When you went through all the food you could smell it! And when he takes a bite of the watermelon the ride sprays you with water and it smells so sweet!!!

So, we head to the Hotel and I am very sad at this point because I realize my trip is almost over. We get into a cab and head over to the restaurant. On the way there I start to get nervous because it doesn't look like an area with a GREAT restaurant. But once we get there the inside was very nice! We got the latest lunch reservation that we could so when we got there it was a little quiet. Which was good because that meant I could take pics!!

The service was really great! Our server was very personable and noticed we had been at DL all day. He then spoke to us about all the new rides and the short wait he had for Toy Story. DL doesn't have a FP for Toy Story so some people are waiting like 4 hours for it. :3dglasses
Anyhow, we order our drinks and get to looking at the menu. It looks fabulous and I'm hungry again! (Believe it or not!) Here's a pic of all our food. The presentation was done very well!!

We had a delicious Grand Marnier Souffle for dessert and it was FABULOUS!!! After that it was back to the hotel and we all fell asleep outside by the fireplace for an hour before we had to get to the airport. I'm still sad we had to leave and we were so busy I feel like we weren't even there. Normally we relax by the pool a lot which we couldn't do once.
But, I feel like we got a ton of stuff done for the wedding. Of course when we got back I was so happy to see my doggy and kitties and sleep in my own bed!!

It's good to see you had such a great time. So have you settled on the White House for your rehearsal dinner? How many people are you having, are they doing a per person price? Am I asking too many questions? What is the meaning of life?

We just finished doing the welcome bags. My Aunt came over this afternoon and we created something like an assembly line. We snipped the original straps off the bags because they looked a little cheesy. Then we did the iron ons and I used fabric glue to adhere the straps. After that I added the hidden (or not so hidden mickey) using the same fabric glue. They turned out great and I'm really happy with them.

That is the same picture I want to use for my bags also.
Would you mind letting me know a few things about your bags.
What size are they, where did you get them and how much were they?
How did you put the new handles on? What a great idea. I found some bags at Walmart but did not like the handle - I thought they were too short. Maybe I could add my own handles and make them longer.
Would you be able to send me the graphic? I have enlarged mine and it got blurry. I love that you added blue to the background. Our colors are red so maybe I'll try that. Also, what type of transfer paper did you use?
Thanks so much,
Linda

We ordered them a bit ago but I believe they were ordered from cheaptotes.com and I believe they were the 12 inch bags. They are not square so I can't remember exactly. If I remember correctly they were less than $1.50 each.
To put the handles on all we did was cut the old handles off above the stitching for the handles so there is still a little bit of them in there. We used avery iron on sheets for ink jet printers. Just be careful, very careful- I found the stuff from Michaels easier to use than what we found at the office supply store. The ink flaked off easily. Then using fabric-tac glue (that's the brand from Michaels) I glued the ribbons onto the bag covering the spot of leftover old handle. Don't forget to iron the bag before putting the graphic on it. My Mom actually made the graphic (I did not have the patience for it!) so I'll have her respond to you. She might even remember the exact size of the totes!! Good luck!!
Oh- one more thing!! I used non-wired ribbon because it's easier to work with and I thought the wire might come loose and poke someone!!

I tried making a Word document using the door graphic and adding our names and the date and then placing this on top of a red box - instead of a blue box like you have.
It didn't come out bad, but the graphic got alittle blurry and I did not get a full color red near where the door and the color meets.
I would really appreciate it if you could find out from your mom if she could send me the graphic you guys used.
I'll send you a PM with my email address.
Thanks,

I love all your engagement pictures! They're beautiful (and they make me want to go to DCA, like, right now).
Can't wait to hear how it all goes!!!
Thank you!! I'm so glad we got the pics done before all the renovations because it'll change so much but this is how I'll remember it being! The original DCA! Funny because I have some family in NC!! Wilmington. I've never been there and feel like a bad cousin because she always come to see us!

It's amazing how everything runs together here!
Not sure when you were last here, but they opened up a new freeway and it connects all of the cities very quickly!
We love it!
Was he born and raised here? MY DH has never lived anywhere else...:scared1:
I was last in Arizona for my birthday....in April (actually- round about the time of when the wedding will be next year). We try to go when AZ won't be too hot.
My husband was born and raised in Arizona- very proud to call himself a Zonie. Besides when he was on the college program down here- he had never lived anywhere else till he moved here in 2005. He's lived all over the Phoenix-Metro area, but he's lived in Chandler the longest. He tries to convince me every day that we should move to AZ, but so far it hasn't worked. :rolleyes1 I wouldn't mind it though! You guys have so much great things we don't have here!!!

If I was your cousin- I'd always come see you too! You live so close to Disneyland! :) Not that Wilmington isn't nice (cause it is- right near the beach!)....but I think Arizona is great!
In a way I'm really excited for the renovations, but I'm very happy I took so many pictures the last time I was there, since I figured it may or may not ever look the same.

Here's the whole stack. We did 23 of them assuming one per room.

I just got my guest book in the mail. They delivered it to two different wrong addresses. I don't know how much I like yet. I might do another one because some of the pictures don't look great.
Here's to cover. My little kitty Claire was helping out. She likes to lay on things to check their safety for me! I don't really like that Dan was cut out of the last part of that pic.
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg273/IndyBride/Guestbookversion1004.jpg
Here's the first page. The jacket side says: I fell in love the first time I saw you and you smiled back because you knew... I put that there because we met at work and he says he applied there because he thought I was cute. And let me tell you, he instantly began putting on the moves!!! Until I told him I was with someone else and he had to respect that. :lmao:

http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg273/IndyBride/Guestbookversion1015.jpg
And then the end side of the dust jacket says: Love is an emotion so strong that you would give everything up. To just feel it once, to know that you are part of something special. To know that you can feel what love really is; to know, to feel, to love. ---------- I just noticed I missed a comma on that last sentence! OHHH!!! I reread everything like twelve times!!!!
And the back cover. The spine just says val and dan april 23, 2009

We're doing a photo guestbook, too, but we're letting the photographer design it! I hope they don't cut him out of the pictures :) My advice: get what you want, unless it doesn't matter to you.

Val -- You did a BEAUTIFUL job on the book -- I'd just ask them to reprint the cover. You may have to zoom out on that pic in order to get Dan on the front of the page. It's a shame they don't show you a grid of where the "fold" will be.

That they did Wishbooks...
I suggested she try it out and see if she liked the quality becauses they were not expensive at all...and if she didn't like it her Grandma would love it...
So she tried it, but is probably afraid to say where she got it...she probably would not have tried there if I had not said
Try it!!! Try IT!!! Just Try IT!
I think she is styling one from Blurb....but Blurb had different backgrounds..

Hey hey, there is nothing wrong with being cheap. Every little bit adds up to a wedding! And you had a contingency plan in place in case you didn't like it, and you've learned a valuable lesson for all of us, so no harm, no foul.

You are probably right which is why I think I'm going to stay with this book. I have downloaded softward from blurb and shutterfly and I don't like the bakcgrounds or layouts as much as the one I already have. I did like shutterfly better than blurb but, I don't know if I'm up to making another one. To be honest, the only pics that didn't turn out as great as I wanted were ones with filters so that may be why it wasn't as rich. :confused3

I had completely forgotten what my center pieces looked like so I e-mail the entertainment director a few weeks ago to ask for pics. This is the overall idea. It's probably not going to have those flowers and the pebbles on the bottom are going to be different. I'm going to have these on two tables.
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg273/IndyBride/2x2TwoGlassCylinders.jpg
And then on the other three tables I'm going to have these. There will be different flowers and bamboo inside the glass around it. There will also be a ribbon going around the vase.
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg273/IndyBride/2x2SquareGlass6inCenterpiece.jpg
Oh! It's also going to be bigger and on the sweetheart table there will be the floral from the gazebo. I will have the aisle runner in white I think because it will look best. This is a pic that will go along the aisle.

I like the centerpieces, simple, yet effective. Have they given you pricing or do you get that when you get your BEO?
I did order a Blurb book for my friend that went away. I forgot to take pictures of it though, it was a busy week, sorry.
This is the preview of it though:

She loved it. It was only 20 pages and you can do more, but we didn't want to make it longer just for the sake of making it longer. I think they are cheaper than the other books, at least I think that's what Lurkyloo said, and I rarely feel the need to check her facts.
The book turned out great though. I got the large format, and instead of getting a dustcover I had them print onto the cover. I loved it, and I'm going to make a big fat one for my wedding with the thousands of images I hope to get from our photographer.

Simple... When asked about how I want my wedding I wanted fabulous not simple. But, I decided I don't want to have to give up my open bar so I could have fabulous center peices. Are you sitting down??? for the smaller centerpiece the price was $100 and it was $250 for the larger ones. I was shocked!!!! I haven't gotten my BEO. I got my BEO two days before my final payment was due. I faxed back my "approval" of my BEO, and they called me the next day asking me how I wanted to pay. I was like, "oh, I thought payment wasn't due for another week." and the lady on the phone (not my planner) said, "no, it's due today, according to your contract." Well excuse me.
At least they called me, I guess.

I decided that I want to buy where I stay, which is a common theme amongst DVCers!
I am taking my chance to be able to buy into GCV when it becomes available.
I was THIS CLOSE to buying at Kidani, but that 7 month booking window bothered me, and I want to be able to stay in a Grand Villa, which is pretty hard at 7 months.
I threw a request out to the DVC forum for advice, and didn't hear anything for a while. Just an hour before I would have to call and say yes or no, two people popped up and said not to worry, they were certain there would be availability for the general public, and that made up my mind!
I felt instantly better, but hope to buy when we are there for Val's wedding!

I was THIS CLOSE to buying at Kidani
And as a fan of the Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge.....I must say that place is going to be so cool when it opens up! (The building is massive!)
But I agree, you should buy where you want to stay. My brother is doing his DVC tour when he comes down in a week (I live 15 minutes from Disney) and he wants to buy through resale because he'd rather have Boardwalk or Beach Club as one of his home resorts. (Epcot is his favorite park.) I personally would rather have him buy into the Lodge- cause if he doesn't use his points- he could let his sister and brother-in-law stay there! Pretty sure that will never happen!

Just wanted to thank you and your mom again for emailing me the graphic you used for your welcome bag. I ended up using this on our Welcome Folders. I was stressing out about making bags. I use a Laser Jet printer and you cannot print iron-on transfers on a Laser Jet because of the heat and I checked with Staples and they will not print iron-on transfers on their printers. So I printed the Welcome Door on labels and stuck them on my bright red welcome folders.
I ordered the Disney Sinch Sacks off the Disney Outlet website. It works out to be a little more money per bag but I only needed 30 and this way when they come in I just have to fill them and not worry about ironing on a transfer and then changing the handles. Just fill them and go. I should be getting them soon so I will let you know how they work out.

Hey Val,
Love the book and your centerpieces! Oh, and those bags are adorable. I'm not doing Welcome Bags - I don't really feel obligated since we are a surprise and folks are not traveling on our behalf BUT I'm thinking I might do small bags with a few different items for favors??? It's all you girls and your awesome bags that get me thinking :goodvibes

I just got the bags delivered today and they are great. http://disneyshopping.go.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/DSIProductDisplay?catalogId=10003&storeId=10052&productId=1227964&langId=-1&categoryId=14507 The perfect size and hopefully everyone will like them I made my own "Guest of Honor" badges. I used button makers like you would use for pictures and made them look like the GOH badges you used to be able to buy at the parks. I am planning on pining the badges to the outside of the bags and filling the bags with two water bottles, the folder with your welcome sign on the front, I am in the process of making Bear Necessities bags and a few other assorted things - like biscotti and maybe some crackers.
One of these days I will learn how to post pictures and I will do so.
Thanks again,

Love it :cool2: the proce of the centerpieces nearly made me fall over  the engagement pictures turned out fantastic, you coordinated the clothes really well. Oh and the welcome bags are so cute, I may have to steal that idea from you ;)

So I got my BEO in the mail two days ago now and I can't believe I haven't said anything yet!!! It wasn't the floral BEO which is where the question marks are. We had a pretty good idea on the pricing for this portion of it. I don't know if I should post my BEO because I don't want future Brides to get confused since I'm not a WDW Bride but if any DL brides have questions please PM me and I'll answer them best I can!!
Other than that not much going on here. I'm focusing on school for the next few months. BORING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was pretty much exactly spot on.
But...it was only the food portion.
We were confused because of the pianist. On this BEO we are charged for the piano rental.
I imagine on the floral BEO :scared1: we will be charged for the fingers playing the music!!! :lmao:
We are waiting in dread for the other one! :thumbsup2

I just booked the DJ for my wedding! I had met with a gentleman in Disney and felt he was a tad introverted. At least not as extroverted as I would have expected from a DJ. Well after two months of basically avoiding making a decision because the price was right just the guy wasn't quite right I e-mailed the owner of the company. He, (Tim) by the way was sooo patient. He made quite a few calls to follow up and e-mails. I finally e-mailed him and told him I was not ready to make a decision and when I am I would let him know. So, I emailed him my concerns and he said- yes you are right. He is not as outgoing as other DJ's though he does have a lot of experience. He said he himself was available the night of my wedding which made me so happy!!! :goodvibes The website (www.877djstogo.com) had a audio clip so I could hear what he sounded like and it was what I wanted. Some people may not like it but he has a lot of energy and is fun to listen to! At least I think so!! The best part is he is doing it at the price he quoted me for the other guy. He said he is usually a few hundred dollars more! :cool1: So that makes it even better!!!!
On a side note, I have e-mailed my planner some questions about the BEO but she is on vacation. again. Like for the second or third time since I signed my contract. I have never once gotten an e-mail response the same day I e-mail. Has anyone else experienced this?

I think the Disneyland people might just be short staffed or maybe not so into it Val. I sent an email back to the person who sent me the xcel sheet for the STD's to ask if she was my new point of contact and it took me like a week to hear back from her that it was someone else and then it took like two more days to hear from that person.

The peeps are different that you work with, but I just thought that was odd.

So I got my entertainment budget and once again it wasn't shocking. We didn't know what the flower prices would be but DF's family is paying for the flowers so I wasn't too concerned. FMIL said I could have whatever I wanted (:goodvibes ) and DF checked with them when we got the prices and they said it was fine. YAY!! Once again, I am not going to post it so people don't confuse my prices with WDW. So pm me if you would like to know the prices. I am more than happy to share.
So all we really have left to do is:
invitations, find an officiant, get favors chosen, get the welcome bags done. I have to order my shoes. That's not too bad of a list. Also get marriage license but that will wait until April when we are in Cali. Oh- also find something to wear to the rehearsal dinner and welcome party. Should I get two dresses to wear to the different events?? That would be fun!!! :cool1:

I'm just a lurker - and an un-engaged one at that - but I was wondering who your engagement photographer was? I love how colorful all the pictures are! I really like that style, so I'd like to put them in my favorites for future reference ;) (I'm a SoCal girl).

So I finally got my sister to order her dress!! YAY!! She was up visiting from Tucson for my Mom's Birthday and I drug her to DB so she could order it. Of course, this means I'll have to pick it up when it arrives but that's okay. Here is a picture of the style she went with. It is supposed to come with a sash but she doesn't like it.
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg273/IndyBride/GooseinBMdress044.jpg
This is the other dress she liked but she decided she liked the other one better. As long as it is very fluffy on the bottom! But this one is very nice too! Just a little long!
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg273/IndyBride/GooseinBMdress045.jpg
I had to flip the pics in photobucket so I hope they turn out right! :confused3 So I had wanted to order a pair of shoes from DB for the wedding and have them dyed a lilac color. Purple is one of my favorite colors and my floral is going to be mostly purple. I was talking to a friend and she said to make sure the dye was waterproof because if the shoes get wet there is a chance it will run on the dress. Well, I don't have many layers of crinoline to protect my dress from run a way shoes so I think I might have to start over on the shoe search.
I catered a wedding yesterday and the bridal party was champagne colored and it looked so pretty!! So I decided instead of platinum they'll wear champagne vests. DF doesn't really care as long as it's not pink he said. I said pink looks really nice but he doesn't believe me. Lucky for him I'm not having pink in the wedding! :cutie:

My dress came in about 3 weeks sooner than I thought! So I ran down to the bridal salon and picked it up. One of my BM came with me so I was able to get some shots of me in it! I do need to lose a bit of weight around my waist. I had a feeling because I felt like I had gained some weight since school started. Also I will def. need to have it altered a bit around the bust. :sad1: I will remember this moment!
One day, you will wish for some little special something, and mama will say..
Do you remember when you did not tell me about your first pics in the wedding dress your mama paid for and waited 6 months to see you in????
That dress is fabulous on you! You totally do not look like you need to lose weight to me!
Thank you!!! I love my dress! I look at in the closet everyday but i have to be ninja becaue I'm worried my cats will get into the room with it!! :scared:
Your dress is beautiful, I love all the detailing on it! Sounds you might owe DM one for not letting her know first ;) Thanks for sharing with all of us though too :goodvibes
Thank you Vanessa! The detailing is my favorite part too!! :goodvibes
BEAUTIFUL!!!! I love your dress beyond words and you look great in it! I love the lace and all the detailing, its perfect. My favorite part is the train, how the lace comes beyond the other fabric. Yay, I would totally prance around in it everyday if it were hanging in my closet! :dance3:
When I first tried it on the train wasn't a big seller to me. But, once I saw it again I couldn't stop looking at it. Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!
Oh, Val, it's just lovely! I think you look perfect in it already! Just beautiful.
:goodvibes Thanks!!
Val you look so beautiful in your dress!!! Love that train! Dan is going to :faint: when he sees you!!!
And you are right a year will pass quickly! The time has already flown!
Awww..Kristi don't feel bad! I am sure Val was so excited she forgot! I almost did the same thing with my mom! We have tunnel vision when it comes to our dresses! :rotfl2:
Thank you Laura! Dan is really excited to be surprised to see in it!
Val, your dress is beautiful!
Thank you Kendra!
Wowsers Val.
Hubba Hubba. :worship:
 Oh you make me blush!!!
Val GORGEOUS dress!!!!!
1.) I'm stoked you got your dress the same week as me!!
2.) You look fabulous, dahling. You don't need to loose weight.
3.) I'm jealous that you have skinny arms...I am doing push ups like nothing else trying to get better arms
4.) okay...the bust shot:
you've seen the one of my dress, and I have the same bust shot.
When the girl at the store took it, she giggled and said "You're ****s look huge!"
:rotfl:
Gasp! This thing has a filter that filted out '****s!' No fair! My quote totally lost it's effect!
1. When you got your dress it reminded me how long I've been waiting.
2. Thank you! But, I could barely get it zipped up! :lmao:
3. I call them my sticks. You can have them.
4. Yeah, I was shocked when I opened that file from the e-mail my friend sent! It def. needs to be taken in some!!! :rotfl:

I don't want to seem stingy and unsharing!
I am excited Val posted her pics!
I was caught off guard because one second she is babbling on the phone about going up on the weekend, and the next, I check her PJ and she has her dress and has already posted.. :lmao:
I will pretend she tried to text me and it couldn't get through! Because my text messaging doesn't work half the time! ;)

I forgot I promised Dan I'd ask if anyone knew anyone that had used Sandals resorts for a honeymoon? We were originally going to do an adventures by disney tour of Rome but, Sandals sounds great. By the beach just doing nothing. Perfect! Of course by the time I make a reservation I will have probably changed my mind about three more times! :scratchin
:lmao: Yeah i'm a bit far behind. If you're still interested, Joe and I have been to Sandals Antigua.

Thank you! I was very excited to have some pics. They weren't even on my camera. Luckily I had a friend that was able to drop everything to go with me to take some pics otherwise I probably still wouldn't have any pics of me in my dress!
Pretty wedding dress!

Thank you! The train really is much pretty than I remember it being.

I completely forgot about that! We decided to put off the honeymoon for multiple reasons. One being we have no money! AND, hopefully we'll both be getting great jobs soon after we graduate and it might be hard to get a couple weeks off within a few months of starting a new job. HOpefully it won't be hard getting one week off for the wedding! :) But, I will remember when the time comes.
Val! You look beautiful in your dress! I love it!!!
Thank you!

Nothing too exciting going on in the realm of planning. I'm very busy so I don't really have much time to devote to wedding. In fact I still have my BEO on my nightstand that i have to send back to my planner. Oh well. I waited like three months for it, they can wait at least that amount! ;)
DF's grandparents are in town and his grandmother asked if we were doing a breaking of the glass ceremony. He told her yes and he said she looked so proud and happy so it looks like we are adding that to the ceremony. It'll be fun and then 1/2 the crowd will yell mazel tov. (I don't know if I spelled that right!)
Also I def. decided not to do programs. I catered a wedding not too long ago and threw away every single program at the wedding. Just too much time and money to be thrown in the trash. In fact, 1/2 the favors got thrown away as well.
Still no luck on new shoes. I just haven't found any flats I want. Although I think I want something with a peep toe. I suppose at some point I'll have to actually head out somewhere and look. Until then I will contemplate!
I suppose I ought to go to class. Although I would rather sleep in this chair I'm sitting in. Boo on class!

I used to do catering for weddings, too!!! That was my summer job all through college and it was the most fun I have ever had working. Definitely helped with wedding ideas, too, cause you can see what works and what doesn't. Only down side was the penguin suit :groom: we had to wear, its hard to make that look cute!!!

I was going through my PJ this afternoon looking for the recap I did about Anaheim White House for someone on the DL boards. I realized how great it is to have every moment of planning the wedding here. Especially being able to look at all the pictures and reading the great comments from everyone here. I can remember how exciting it was to do everything and even though I have been very stressed with school so the wedding is really one of the last things I want to think about I like being able to look back. I'm gonna have to copy and past this thing so I can save it.

Yeah, I hate the bow tie but it's worth it. I have fun watching people get married except I'm always worried I'm going to sneeze or something and ruin the moment!

It will be work and I am glad I'm not doing them. I have fun doing the newsletters and all the projects but that was something I was not excited to do!

Hi!
I just read through your whole PJ!! and I have to say.. I love everything! Your dress is gorgeous, I love the newsletter idea (mind if I "borrow" it? :upsidedow ), your colors sound beautiful, etc etc, I could go on forever!
I'm a 2010 (we think) DISbride so reading everyone's PJ is so helpful.. I have to say that I've gotten some great ideas from yours! Thanks so much!
I just wanted to jump on board. Looking forward to the rest of your planning and the wedding!!

The wedding has been canceled. I found out before it was too late he is not the person I thought he was. I just want to thank everyone for their support throughout my entire process. It has been a lot of fun making new friends. I am not planning on coming back to this journal and am going to create a new account on the Dis.
I wish you all a lifetime of happiness! :goodvibes
