I have the Crocs, and I love them. I need a new pair of running/walking shoes for my poor feet and for support. I have arthritis in my knees and ankles and I need extra support. I am a Pooh-sized woman, and I need to find the perfect sneaker. Does anyone have any experience with the Brooks line? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I take a size 8 1/2 EE. I have found the Etonic light walker works for me. I got them on shoebuy.com. They are the lightest sneaker around. I am also a pooh sized grandma with knee problems. I got the velcro closures as they are easier to get on and off.

Try Rockport Sandy model on Shoebuy.com. It's like walking on air, trust me! Good support and very comfortable, right out of the box. I also have foot/knee problems and these shoes, when I wear them, I have no pain.

MBTs - I'd be in agony without them. I have sandals and walkers (sneaks).

My bro. and sis. swear by new balance sneakers. They can get $$$ but any number over 1000 are the best. I wore crocs last month and my knees and legs were killing!!!!!

I use NB and love them....my husband is a heavier (not long and lanky) runner that runs 3-5 miles a day, they have great shoes with stability inserts made into them.
I have also been told (no first had experience) that easy spirit walkers/athletic shoes are very good walking shoes for women.

Hint and tips on footwear for Disney trips are now maintained on the Disney "Tips" board and this thread is headed over there!
Thanks,

Way back when I used to run, I really liked New Balance. Lots of people seem to swear by them. But, brand preference is such an individual thing, really, that you just need to try different shoes on and see what works for you. We went to REI today and tried on different brands of shoes and sandals. For good arch support, both dh and I agreed we like Keens and Salomon even better than NB.

I suffer from severe heal pain and these shoes are made in such a way that I am never putting pressure on my heals. They are VERY expensive, but I never pay full price - eBay or discount shoe sites on-line. Here's a link to their main site. Just google MBT and you'll find their homepage, as well as a bunch of sites that sell them at a discount.
