I watched both the GF and the AKL on the travel channel today, and now I am missing both resorts!!!

we have stayed at both, and love the GF, but prefer the epcot resorts for the overall theme and unbelievable location and convenience!!! but watching it on TV today made me very nostalgic for my "first Love" resort!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

and... the AKL!!! we stayed there for one night only, and although I did totally appreciate the incredible architecture and theming, I had no desire to stay there again, I just felt it was so remote, inconvenient, and too dark for my tastes. we do go and visit the AKL during our trips, because I do love the theming to visit, (just as we visit the WL everytrip). but now after watching it on TV, I'm itching to stay there again!!! I want to stay concierge and go on the sunrise safari!!!!!!!!!! :) :) :)

nothing brings you to WDW like watching the specials on the travel channel!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
awesome, I just wish I could have taped them! my TV and VCR arent hooked up correctly, and I cant fix it til Wednesday! (when the cable guy comes!) but, I'm sure it will be on again!

I know the Y&B club is on again next week!!!the 19th at 3pm, and the 21st at 11:30am! I saw it last month, but htis time hopefully I'll be able to tape it!!

I cant wait to be in WDW!!!!!!!! 53 days to go!!!!! :)

Laura:

I know what you mean! I love seeing the resorts featured on that show, especially the Disney ones! Isn't it fun to watch and say "I've stayed there!!!!!!" :D

I still would like to try AKL for a night or two, concierge, and do the Sunrise Safari, as well as the Yacht Club, which is one of your favorites, right?? :) I think my sons would love the location and SAB at the Yacht Club while DH and I would enjoy the theming. I definitely prefer the theme of the YC over the BC, it's all a matter of taste, I guess. I also like the fact that all of the YC rooms have full balconies while not all at the BC do.

There are just too many fun resorts at WDW to limit to just one per visit. :D I'm thinking our next family trip will include the Polynesian and the Yacht Club. For a trip for just DH and I, we'll go to the Wilderness Lodge and Contemporary Tower. :)

We meant to drive over to AKL when we were there last time but we forgot. :( I have GOT to remember to see it next time. I don't think we'd stay there (because of the kids being so young) but I would like to check it out. ;)

53 days!!!! You are soooo lucky!! :D   I'm super jealous!!! I have to wait another 6 months. :( :( But I am really excited to try BCV. :) We booked a one bedroom, and it will be our first time at a DVC resort. :)

Well, Laura, maybe you better call Disney and book a stay at the GF! ;) Nothing compares to the GF! (okay, maybe a few Ritz-Carltons and Four Seasons)

Gotta get back to the GF soon, Laura! :)

Those travel channel specials really do get me in the mood to be at WDW (not that it takes much to make me want to go to WDW< LOL!). I have taped the GF and AKL ones, and I'm going to tape the Y&BC one next week. :)

Laura,

I wish we got the Travel Channel. I keep hearing about these shows. We watch our collection of vacation videos every Saturday Morning during breakfast.

DW Sue and DS James caught a bit of the AKL show. I think that I could probably talk Sue into a stay there. She was impressed with the savanah view rooms. BTW - James thought that the Travel Channel was filming at the Wilderness Lodge (due to the similarities of the two resorts).

hi everyone!

seaspray, yes the YC is my favorite resort, you would love it!! try it soon!!!! :) :) :)

tikiman, hi!! too bad you don't get the Travel channel! it's fun too watch the resorts on TV! I like that idea of watching your vacation videos on Saturday mornings!!! that is definately something Jerry and I would do!!!!!!!! :)

Tgrlvspooh, you must check out the AKL!!!! as I have said before in previous posts, I stayed at the AKL, and wasnt in any rush to stay there again, cause the theming is overall too dark and the remote location, but it is absolutely an incredible resort! I completely appreciate the architecture, and the amazing resort they have created there! we always visit it everytrip, & eat at Boma or Jiko (both are excellent)! I would love to stay there again now, in concierge for a few days, especially to do the sunrise safari!!! :)
