I booked my cruise with Dreams Unlimited. It's the 7 day land and sea package. I've been reading a few posts about a perks package that they offer. This is the first I've heard of it. Can any of you tell me what it is?
Thanks
Sandie

Hi Sandie! On ocassion when Dreams happens to have 8 or more staterooms booked on a cruise (and they can be unrelated parties) that puts those clients into "group" status with DCL and they automatically get a small onboard gift, usually a gift basket.
This only happens when enough staterooms book to qualify on a certain sailing, which explains why some people get it and some don't. It's an automatic gift from DCL.
But all Dreams clients that have a minimum qualifying cruise amount get the rebate.
Hope that helps to explain it! :)

Michelle,
Is this when the booking parties have their cabins linked together in some way or does Dreams automatically "link" cabins to get the perk even if the passengers don't know each other?
That is, if any 8 DISer's happened to book and travel on the same date with Dreams, they'd all get the basket (or whatever) even though they didn't plan it that way?
thanks,
Julie

Thanks Michelle! Will Dreams Unlimited let us know if we've qualified? Or do we learn when we board the ship?

Cruise, no, the parties don't have to be linked at all, it's just when Dreams happens to have at least 8 staterooms booked for clients on a sailing.
Sandie, you would not know until you sail, since group status could change at any time as rooms are added (or if they cancel). Just consider it a bonus if you get one. :)

I personally booked 7 staterooms for the 9/14 7-day Magic Western Caribbean sailing for myself and family members. I'd love to get a perk!

OK, this is beginning to make sense to me. When searching for Dis quotes I was told that if you book 8 cabins most TA's will qualify one person to go free. If they are linking cabins together not in the same party to get this bonus from Dis, then just maybe this is why we are able to get such good prices thru DU, cruise411, cruise.com, etc. Hey, long as we reep the benefit of discounted prices so be it :D

We booked 4 cabins fromDU for June 22 maybe there are 4 more out there. It's always nice to get a surprise.
