What do you plan on doing for your upcoming trip?
Deluxe DDP, DDP or OOP?
We're going with the DDP. I crunched the numbers for a couple of hours and for us, we'd spend $250 more total for the Deluxe DDP. It's my mom, dd (4) and myself on the trip. I'll be paying oop one TS and a few snacks, I figure (water, etc.) plus a few CS breakfasts, and still save about $20 by doing the DDP.

I'm doing the deluxe plan, but only because I got it for $32 a night, otherwise I probably wouldn't even be going to Disney this year.

Do you mind if I ask you you got it for $32/night? Wow, good for you!

I'm going the OOP mode, Neither plan is right for us and I'll save money over the regular plan by paying OOP. All of my children are considered adults and after I did the math for us the DXDDP would have cost an additional $1000 just in tips for a 12 night trip. I can seriously spend way less OOP and have much more flexibility.

We're going OOP and the main reason is that I want my kids- 9, 6, 4, 4- to be able to choose the foods they want to eat and not worry about getting to whatever CS or TS place that has the most decent kids choices. WDW really need to improve the kids choices so adults and kids can both pick what they really want off the menus. I don't mean make them healthier, or whatever, but don't offer adults one thing and kids another. For those on DDP, they should be able to give child sized portions of everything on the menu. They don't have to offer this to all so that people paying OOP can't order kid sizes to get a cheaper meal. I don't know, but there has to be something that can be done so that I can get tuna or chicken strips or fish and chips at CHH, and the kids can too. The only choices for them is mac cheese or salad and chicken. There's no way all 4 of the kids will go for those choices. Its like this at every place.

We're on the DDP for our upcoming trip. I have a 13 yr DS & this plan will really be put to use. The DP isn't much help for us because we have 2TS plus each day.

We've tossed the idea of DxDP and DDP back and forth for awhile now. DH says it's up to me, but I don't want the decision on my own. Anyway, I think we're going DDP plus a couple of extra TS and CS each OOP. The rest of the days, we'll eat breakfast in the villa. Even buying those four meals OOP we'll save close to $200 vs OOP for everything. We'd save money doing the DxDP too, but I think a lot of the food would go to waste. We're not used to eating 3 big meals a day, so I think the DDP will be great. Plus, we did the DDP in Dec. 06 and had plenty to eat, in fact, too much to eat. So, I don't think we'll miss the appetizers that much.

For my May trip I am on the fence, but in Sept I am taking my mom and my ex down there and will be doing the DxDDP.
#1 we really like the appetizers,
#2 my ex can REALLY eat,
#3 my mom is a diabetic and must eat three meals a day and we all prefer TS meals over CS,
#4 we've all been several times and do not feel like we have to do everything in the parks. With the heat we want a nice relaxing trip.
edited: Well, I made my mind up and decided to go with the basic DDP for my May trip, but will still be doing the DxDDP for my Sept trip.

We're going to pay OOP with our DDE card.
Morning - Breakfast in Room
Noon - Lunch at CS
Afternoon - nap in villa, snacks in room
Supper - TS restaurant
We save quite a bit doing it our way and ordering what we want.
We are doing the Deluxe plan for our May 2008 stay. :goodvibes

We going OPP with the DDE card. After crunching the numbers I would only save about $100 bucks on the DDP card. That's not enough for me to give up my flexiblility since we're not big ADR people.

DxDP for us all the way! We wanted to try to many 2TS's this time. I think it's well worth it!

Does anyone know how much time we have to upgrade from ddp to dxdp if we change our minds?

They told me within 5 days of the start of your trip. I have also heard you can add once you get there.

We're doing the Deluxe plan next week. Just me and my wife. I will definately use the plan to an advantage, but I'm no so sure my wife will. Anyway, if we find we are not using enough of our meals, I like to stay up late at night so I can always use 2 TS meals for room service at the BCV.
