Hey DIS Team I was just listening to this weeks email show and after hearing the lady that wants to golf with Bob I had an idea. You should have a DIS Golf Tournament. You could do the scramble (Bob Golf) format and have all proceeds go to a charity. Maybe donate to the one you were speaking about in this weeks regular show (can't remember the name without going back to listen). Throw in some prizes for the winners and it would be a great day of fun. :thumbsup2

I can't believe there are no golfers on this board that think this would be a blast. We have quite a few of these tournaments in our local area that I play in each year. They are fun and they raise money for a good cause.

My husband and I are in if John volunteers to watch my DD5.

John's Golf Daycare......

Even at Disney they frown on young children on the courses.

I was going to offerif people cannot make it to Orlando to do one in Massachusetts the same weekend you do one in Orlando. I know Bob was from this area and he has friends that are still up here so I am more than happy to spear head something like that up here incase there is a group that cannot make the trip.

I would suggest to make it a mini-golf event at the Fantasia Gardens across from the Swalfin. Everyone can play, and it does not need to be a 7am start (thinking of Kevin and John). The braver souls can play the Fairway course.

I think it would be a better time with everyone closer together instead of being on a regular course that is so large. It would be a blast!:thumbsup2

I am not a golfer but mini-golf for a Bawb Benefit I would love to do.

May be something to tie into an early December Podcast Meet (hint, hint, hint).

I was the lady that wanted to golf with Bob! I thought it would be a good idea to have Bawb Golf as a prize in one of the envelopes...then kind ol Bawb said to contact him when we got into town. My husband and I were were looking forward to golfing with Bawb. This would be great idea I think. A golf tournament in Bawbs honor! Love the idea.

count me all in... best ball scramble with a shot gun start... which I am guessing few are gonna understand... keep it at 72 players or under. heck could do this on the really hard putter golf course, the one that is long ball.

Sure ... it's a Texas Scramble which means teams of four are all designated to a hole 1 through 18. At the shotgun start everyone begins at their designated spots, everyone has a ball and you all tee off. Then you take whatever team member has the best ball and everyone picks up their ball and hits from the spot of the best ball and so on till all the holes are done. This was the way Bawb played when he said he "played best ball." Using a shotgun start every team should finish about the same time. Hope that helps!

You don't have to play to participate. At many charity tournaments there will be "beverage girls" who drive around the course :moped: in skimpy halter tops dispensing much-needed liquid refreshment :drinking1 to the weary contestants. This could work in a modified fashion on a mini-golf range as well.

I think you all know where I'm going here . . . . Kevin? :hyper:

Me: Hello Boss, I need a new computer monitor.

Boss: Why?

Me: I just spewed water on it over the image of Kevin in a halter and it shorted out.

Boss: Who's Kevin?

Me: My DIS friend.

Which btw, if you wanted to set this up, I'm sure you're all resourceful enough to set it up, but if you need direction, I know the managers at the course and can hook you up with them :cool1:

There is TOTALLY a difference between a halter top and a tube top.

Halters come untied, and tube tops just slip down.

I'm in Cleveland...but I think I remember this story. Couldn't you see the strippers from the street? Like you are just walking by the golf course and BAM there are some strippers walking around the 9th green? Unbelievable.

I live in Melbourne, FL and am always looking for good golf ideas. A Bawb golf tournament would be a wonderful idea. I am new to the boards but have been listening to the podcast for over a year now. I had planned on asking Bob to play a round of golf at the podcast meet last month. Unfortunately, life got in the way. :( Now I would like to play for a good cause in Bob's name in a tournament that he would have loved. I am up for anything, whether it's mini, putting, or regular.

BTW. Kevin, thanks for the board name. You gave me the idea at the podcast meet last month.
