Tell me... I've heard good things about B&H and Adorama, does anyone have info about Bigstop? I see they have the XTi kit for $491 or the XT kit for $401. Both seem like a good deal. My other options are Adorama XT for $450 or B&H XT for $470. The only thing about the B&H is that the kit comes with 28-90mm lens, whereas the others are the 18-55mm lens. :confused3 Which lens would be better for a beginner??? I'm so confused, should I just go to our local camera shop and buy there, even though it's going to run me a bit more. LOL I think the guy there is sick of me by now. :rolleyes1 Thanks again for any info.!

IMO, if you have availed yourself of your local camera shop's expertise, you should reward them with your purchase.

That's kind of what I've been leaning towards. I think I would be more comfortable knowing that I have somewhere physical to go to if I run into a problem and they really have been great.

I've never heard of them...definitely check www.resellerratings.com
buydig and beachcamera are two other reputable sites that generally have very competitive prices.

I tried doing a search for them and there is nothing out there about them. I wouold be wary of a store that ahs no feedback anywhere on the net. I woudl be more likely to go wiht a well-known place for spending that much money.
Also, if you ahve been bugging the local place, I would go with them. Unless they don't have what you want. bring in a couple print-outs of prices from online and see if they'll match it. they might to keep your business.

Ok, well I haven't been in there THAT much ;) but enough to know that I like the service, my concern with buying from the local shop was whether or not they would have the XT when I was ready to buy. (tax return is due next Friday) So that's why I have been shopping around online, just in case.
I appreciate the feedback here. I had an uneasy feeling about the best deal online... you know, one of those too good to be true. I guess I will just wait and see what happens on Friday when I go in with money in hand and see what they have in stock and what kind of deal they can give me. I will probably be back with more questions then. Thanks!

B&H and a few other on-line site are very reliable.
B&H is often used as a benchmark. If you can find it cheaper than B&H, then it is probably fraud.
Most camera equipment has a priced fix by the manufacture. B&H buys in huge amounts to get a volume discount that can be passed along to the customer. That's why their prices are lower then small camera store that may only order a few items at a time.

If you're shopping for price, it's unlikely that you'll beat Beach Camera - you certainly won't get cheaper from a reputable reseller.
