Party of 7 -- splitting bill between 2 families

Hi. I will be on the basic DDP. We will have a party of 7 dining at TS, but we are two families. Are we permitted to ask for 2 separate checks? Will we be given a hard time? This way, the gratuity will not be preplanned for me.

They will split the check but youll still be charged the automatic gratuity on both checks.

The bill had to be split up four different ways. We were never given a hard time but you do want to make sure that you're charges are right. Also as mentioned the gratuties will be 18%.
