All trips to Disney are exciting of course, but is there something in particular about this trip that makes it extra special? Maybe it's your first trip, or the first one with a spouse or child, or the first one staying on-site. Please share!
Here's what's especially exciting for me. This will be the 3rd year in a row that we've been to WDW but the last 2 years DD was in college while DS was still in high school. So they didn't have the same week off and we were only able to do a Wednesday night through Sunday afternoon trip giving us only 3 park days. Now DS is in college at the same school as DD, so we have a whole week! :woohoo: We can't afford to fly this year so we'll have only 6 park days by the time we do the driving, but it'll be so much more leisurely and relaxing (not to mention that it WON'T be during President's week).
Only 8 days until we leave and the weather forecast is looking perfect! :yay:

This time it is for me!! DH asked what I wanted for anniversary (20th). Told him I wanted to go to WDW. He said we'll go if you can get off from work. Hard to get off during summer at my job (approached boss) boss gave his okay! The hardest thing now is the waiting. I'm like a child! :yay:

This trip is extra special for me because I will be over 80 pounds lighter than I was for our trip last year. I have also vowed to go on ALL of the thrill rides (except Primeval Hurl). Last year I skipped the big rides both because I was afraid I wouldn't fit, and because I didn't want to make the rest of my family wait for me to do a ride alone. This year they have been warned that they will be waiting if they choose not to join me....lol.

Congrats Gubblebum, thats awesome! :woohoo:
My DH is 75 pounds lighter than he was when we took our trip last year. I'm so happy for him! He still plans to lose at least 25 more.

This trip in May is a "all girls" trip for me and 3 of my best buds. One of my girlfriends in 5 years cancer free and we are celebrating with a spa trip to Disney.
No men and no children. I can't wait.

[QUOTE=eliza61;23350597]One of my girlfriends in 5 years cancer free and we are celebrating with a spa trip to Disney.
That's such WONDERFUL news!!! Give your friend my best wishes for continued good health!
What's exciting for me this year is the fact that my kids don't know we'll be staying at the AKL for 5 days!! I told them its 10 days at the Pop due to financial concerns, but things worked out a little better for me so they're going to be surprised!!!
This trip is special because it will be my DP and DD's first time ever at WDW, and my Mother and my first time ever staying on property and being "Tourists". We lived in the Orlando area for 24 years before moving north to Illinois.

This trip has been a long time coming! My Parents have been wanting to take thier FIRST AND ONLY (as of right now) Grandchild to their favorite place on Earth. We were supposed to go October 2006 and a week before we were supposed to leave my Mom got diganosed with Breast Cancer, and had to start chemo right away. We had to cancel. BUT we promised her we would go as soon as she was cancer-free! Well January came and she was/is CANCER-FREE!!!!!
Well the week after her surgery we booked our trip for September 2008, knowing she would be all finished with everything by then, and be still be cancer-free! With our trip planned we were so excited to do this for my Mom!
Well we got some unexpected news over Christmas.......I'd be expecting BABY #2 in July of 2008, and wouldn't be able to fly that soon nor did we want to bring a 2 month old. :cool1: So once again we cancelled our trip, and instead of bumping it back to 2009..we moved it UP to MARCH 2008!!!!!! YAY!
So this is for my Mom being CANCER-FREE, and the fact that she has another Grandchild on the way too...which means one thing..ANOTHER TRIP to be planned in the furture with 2 Grandchildren! :lmao:

My next trip is a special one for two reasons. The first is because I'm taking DBF on his FIRST trip!! I cannot wait to introduce him to WDW and beyond! The second, this is my 'first' trip in 10 years - can't wait to get back there again and experience the magic all over again :wizard:

Our next trip is special as we are celebrating our 20th anniversary in Sept, my 40th b-day in Oct and we're splurging on AKV in Nov!

Oh wow, what makes our May 2-10 trip so special is that our 3 kids (ages 5, 7 and 8) don't know! We even paid $200 extra in plane fares to take a flight that enables us to send the older two to school for 45 minutes before pulling them out. We're going to tell them that something has come up and we need to get to Arizona to see Papa & Nana.
Our plan is to plug them in to ipods when we get to the airport and try and keep them distracted as long as possible. The perfect scenerio would be to get all the way to the Orlando airport before they catch on.
We're going to make a little movie with pictures from our last trip(2005). At the end of that trip the kids each had a balloon which couldn't go back to the airport with us so my DH took them to the playground and told them that they were wish balloons and each of the kids made a wish on their balloons ("We want to come back") and then released the balloons to go back to Mickey so that he could hear their wishes. The end of our little movie will announce that their wishes were granted. We're going to put this movie on our iphones so that when the kids start to catch on we can play the movie to make the big announcement.
Now you have to realize that my kids have the mom who still peaks at her christmas presents if she can find them, lol. Keeping this secret is killing me!!! :rotfl2:
I swear that my kids are psychic (or psychotic depending on the day). All we seem to see these days are commercials for the year of a million dreams and they keep asking when we can go back to WDW. So far they've believed us when we tell them it's really expensive to go so we'll have to save for a couple of years to make the trip.
Anyone have a mouth gag I can borrow?

Mine is a reward for losing weight. Tha's really exciting for me.
But I was supposed to go with my boyfriend... which is always really really exciting since he gets so excited and so happy there. But he broke up with me. That killed a part of my excitement though.

Everyone has some very special reasons for their upcoming trips! Congrats!!! :thumbsup2
This trip is especially exciting for me because every time I've travelled to Disney it was with my immediate family (mom, dad, brother), but it's different this time. My mom and I are going with 4 of my cousins (including a 5 year old) that have never been out of the province before!!! Not only is it their first Disney trip, but it will be their first time on an airplane, and out of the country! Plus they have a 5-year-old boy, who will just love everything about Disney World. I can't wait to see his reaction to things, as well has his mom's. I have a feeling I'm going to need a good supply of tissue with me, especially the first time they see Cinderella’s castle, and during Wishes. :grouphug:

Our trip (May 14-20) is super-special for a couple of reasons. First, it's special because DH and I are surprising our DS8 with this trip (our 2nd family trip), and we've arranged for his very best friend to join us. His best friend (9) is in on the secret and I know he won't spill the beans because he is so excited about the surprise, too. I think we are going to wait to tell DS when we actually arrive at the airport and I think we'll have his BF's family meet us there...I know DS will be absolutely stunned when he realizes what is going on!
Another reason why this trip is special is that I will have my 38th birthday while we're there (yeay me!:) ) and also because this trip wasn't something I thought we'd be able to do again for another couple of years. In January DH and I decided that I would go back to teaching full-time next year (after 8 years off) and I realized that we wouldn't be able to go during the school year if I'm teaching. We really have no desire to ever go in the summer (too hot and crowded) and I just couldn't leave my classroom for a trip to WDW. (DS8 can handle missing school for 5 days, though...he's a great student...so I'd never feel too bad pulling him out for a trip.) So we decided that it was now or never for a trip back to WDW!
This trip is truly a blessing for many reasons!;)

It is both dh and my first trip in 18-19 years. We both went as kids and not since then. It is our kids first trip. And we will be celebrating my middle sons bday there, as well as leaving 2 days after mine, so we will have a bday dinner for me there! Plus we are staying at the AKL, savannah view, which I have wanted to do for a while now!

Ours is a really exciting trip.... It will be the 3rd time we've been, (living in the UK makes it difficult and really expensive to go!) and it will be the last big holiday that we will go on as a family as I leave home next year to go to University :)
We're planning to go all out and really spoil ourselves because we adore Disney, I'm so excited, I've already started planning it and its 4 months away!! :rotfl:

1. My Fiance and I are celebrating our engagement

4. We are celebrating law school graduation

We leave in just under 3 weeks and this trip is exciting because it will be the first trip for our kids, DS7 and DD4. We are staying at the ASMo and we will be traveling with my parents. This trip is a Christmas gift from them. My wife and I just got back yesterday from a weekend trip to Gatlinburg, Tn. with our Sunday School class, so I guess I will be prepping the Explorer for travel again this weekend. WOOHOO!!

Our upcoming trip is special because my boyfriend, who has never been to WDW, is going! I'd love to convert him into a Disneyphile like me, but it's really, really doubtful. :(
The other really BIG reason it's special is that my little sister is coming along. Yay!! She's 12, and not only has she never been to WDW, she's never even been on a plane before! I know she's a little worried about that, but I think she'll do just fine. My son is a seasoned veteran, and he and I can't wait to show our family the World!

Our upcoming trip is special because even though my husband and I have taken our 7 1/2 y.o. daughter several times, the last two times we have gone we left our twins with the grandparents. But we decided to take a trip a few days before they turn 3 so we can get them in free and to celebrate their birthday. I can NOT WAIT to see their cute little faces as they see Disney for the first time!!!:lovestruc

Well, it will be my 6th trip, but what makes it most exciting is that it is just DH and I. He is attending a conference off-site and we're going to spend a couple of days at MK and Epcot. Being an avid planner, this trip is going to be more laid back and "go with the flow" since its just the two of us. It'll be weird being in Disney without our kids, but I think I can handle it! ;)

We leave in 3 weeks and our trip is exciting because my kids (8 and 5 and a 9 yo niece) don't know that we are going. They think we are going in July. I went to WDW in '96 but I had no idea what I was doing-just there with a convention, so this is really going to be a new experience for me with the kids and dh. We're also driving from OH so this is our first really long road trip together.

I always went to Disney as a child, last time I went when I was 16. Now I am in my 30's, with a 16 y/o dd and an 11 y/o ds, and my dh! AND instead of one day or two we have 6!!! I get to show my kids the magic AT MY OWN pace instead of my parents rushing through, and watch their eyes as they take in the magic I love SOOO much! We are already talking about going back in 2010, to Discovery Cove, and I am gonna sneak in a day at WDW then too LOL! ALSO my dh hasnt been, except to Epcot, and he doesnt remember it!!! Well, I usually go with my grandmother to Disney, which I never really had a problem with..it's always been tons of fun! She always seems to keep up with me well! ha ha. But she told me that we might not get to go this year and I was a little bummed..
My boyfriend goes every year, and he was suggesting a little that I go with him and his family. I never would have guessed that my grandmother would agree to that, but she did! And now I get to go to Disney! It's really exciting now because I get to go with another person around my age (I'm sixteen..and so is he). It's not that I didn't enjoy being with my grandmother cause I loved it! But this is a new experience with new people...I'm excited and can't wait to see how it goes!! :goodvibes

I am hoping that our next trip will be special because we will be staying at the Poly, which is my dream! I am totally keeping my fingers crossed to receive a discount code though, because I don't think we could swing it at rack rate.
I am a Value Resort girl, so staying at the Poly will be a huge deal for us if we can make it happen.
But either way, the trip will be special because it will be our first as just our immediate family. We have taken our older daughter twice, but both times it has been with either friends, or extended family members. Our next trip will be just us, and our new daughter, who will be about 14-15 months by the time we go. Soooooo excited for that! :)

This trip will be the first time that we're spending 6 days! I've always gone "commando" style - squeeze as much as you can into 1 or 2 days. We're actually going to be able to go to MK more than one day and take our time!

I love reading everyone's posts! They all sound so special!
My trip this May is special because it'll be DBF's first time ever and I can't wait to show him WDW and maybe...just maybe...he'll become as obsessed as me. ;)
I'll be there May4th-10th!

SO much!!
- First trip including my sister's FI and my DH, so instead of the 4 of us, it will be the 6 of us.
- It's my dad's retirement trip
- It's my dad's birthday on our first night there.
- It's most of our group's first time on the dining plan, and I'm excited for them to try the table services we picked.
- We're surprising my dad with a Segway tour.
- We're surprising my parents with a diver sign and personalized menu at Coral Reef.
It's going to be a fantastic trip!! :)

I've only ever gone with my mom or my mom and brother, but this time I'm going with my six year old twin cousins, their parents, and my mom. I'm so excited to be going with children, and my cousins are really good kids, so I know they won't drive me crazy - just make the trip even more fun. We're also staying at Wilderness Lodge Villas, it's our first time ever staying in Villas (My aunt and uncle are DVC members, but we're not). The only places I've ever stayed (to my dismay, I would stay a difference place each time if I could) are Caribbean Beach, The Beach Club, and Coronado (but only for one night). Plus, this is the first time I've gone back-to-back years. Usually it's every other year or every third year, but last year we took a spontaneous trip and this year we got invited by by aunt and uncle.

This will be my first time at a Star Wars Weekend, yay!
Also it's kinda exciting because I was able to put most of the trip together using frequent flier miles and hotel points. It's gonna be wacky, since we're changing hotels almost every day, but it was the only way we could afford the trip. So, I'll try to make the best of it, and enjoy seeing more of the various offsite hotels. The one night we're paying for a hotel is at POP, which my son loves loves loves.
Oh, and he doesn't know about the trip yet, so that's fun too. :goodvibes

All WDW trips are exciting. The last time we went was in September 2002 after fertility treatments and finally adopting our son in April. (That was our first trip as a family of 3).
We are now going back in 2008 as a family of 5! We adopted a daughter in 2003 and were VERY surprised in 2006 with a pregnancy!
We are extremly exicted and can't wait until May!!!

We'll be there May 22-28. Staying at all star movies. Our 1st trip as a 'blended family'. Married DH 5 years ago at the end of May. When I married DH, I had 1 dd :cutie: who was (4 years old at that time) from previous marriage & had always dreamed of taking her to Disney. I had 8 or more trips to WDW as a child, teenager and young adult. (in the 70's 80's & 90's) :hippie: I had always planned on going back with my daughter when she was 5 or 6. However, DH & I unexpectedly got pregnant 2 months into our wedded bliss. :rolleyes1 (I was 40 years old and he was 49). So we now have 2 dd's to take to Disney. We've only been waiting on our little "surprise" princess: to be old enough to make memories. Plus last year was a rough year for us with job changes, the sale of our home falling through, etc. So look out WDW...here we come... ready to do it all! DH, dds, ages 4 & 9. :cool1:
this trip will be special because

This is a yay you made it through your first year, and also motivation to get through the first year, with I only have 9 more weeks.... yay! It is honestly the place that just makes me happy! This is the first year my daughter will really understand the magic of Disney. We went right before her first birthday a few years ago and while she loved the music, the lights, the sights, etc., she didn't really "get" was Disney was all about.
This time, she is just fascinated (obsessed! LOL!) with the Disney Princesses, Mickey and Minnie and seeing Cinderella's castle. I just know this is going to be such a huge thing for her.
For some added bonuses, we will be taking her to the BBB where she will be tranformed into Cinderella and that night we are going to the P&PP. We are also having dinner with Cinderella and cast, breakfast with Mickey and cast and a lunch with the Princesses. I just can't wait to relive my own childhood through her. :lovestruc
My August trip will be special because:
Our last vactaion before my daughter graduates High School
We will be having breakfast at Cinderlla's Royal Table
We will go to a Universal park for the first time in my life
We will have more days in the park than last time, so we will get to see and do more

Special for me (us) because although I'm a kid at heart, in the past I've always said we'd go for the kids. We have three. 14, 10, 10.

Our trip will be my nephew's first trip! When my boys and I went three years ago, I told him I would take him when he turned six. He will be six in September and we are going in October. Also, we have decided that everyone is going this trip, my children and I, my parents, my sister and nephew, my brother, my other nephew and his girlfriend, and my cousin is going to meet us there also! My grandma passed away last June and we decided this was a great way to spend some of the money she left us. She would enjoy knowing we were all having such a great time, and although she never made it to Disney, she loved to travel.

This trip is going to be one magical week for us because we have been together for 2 years and this is our first big vacation together, without all of our closest friends! We are so excited for June and getting to just spend this time together, with Mickey of course! We even splurged and booked the WINE and dine plan with a bunch of nice ADRs including a character breakfast or two! Another big plus is that Dbf is an engineer and we will be dining with a Disney Imagineer while we are there --so he is stoked for that for sure and I'm excited to see Artist Point at WL!
As a kid, my family has always stayed at DVC places, so I'm really looking forward to the themed setting of CSR!

That is AWESOME for you!! Congratulations on losing so much weight!!

:sad1: This will be our oldest DS graduation trip (he picked where to go) before he goes out of state to college. both my sons are my WDW buddies, since DH only goes every 4 or 5 yrs with us (he's going on this one) It will be little more sad leving the World not knowing if my DS will want to go back after starting college. Or at least not be able to go as much. :sad1:

We are really excited about this trip because it is our 25th wedding anniversary trip (and they said it wouldn't last!), and my best friend and her DH are going with us and he has never been to Disney (and, actually, my best friend has only been once...and that was befoe the Studios or Animal Kingdom). We are looking forward to them celebrating with us and enjoying Disney as much as us (we hope).

This trip will be special because I am turning 30. I was in a major funk since I turned 29 just thinking how old I am now! So depressing. Then I was chatting w/ DH and thought wouldn't it be great to turn this around and celebrate my b-day in the best place in the world? Now I am so freaken excited I can't contain myself! :yay: The days just aren't passing fast enough. :surfweb:
We also just had our 3rd wedding anniversary on Sunday and we got engaged at Disney so we're also going to celebrate that too. I'm so thankful that even though this was planned last minute and we don't really have the fundage that DH agreed with open arms to make me happy. :cloud9:

A couple of exciting things about our August/September trip:
1. We're traveling with friends and their children ( who are friends with our children). We've always just gone to WDW just us, so it will be fun to ride with others and share our excitement about all things disney.
2. We're getting FREE DINING for the first time!!!!

Our upcoming trip in May is exciting because it's our very first trip!!! Like going to Disney at anytime is not exciting enough, but waiting 41 years, well --- I can't even explain my happiness!
And, I have a secret (SHHHHH!). I have a diver and personalized menu reserved for my girls at Coral Reef. I can't wait to see their faces when the diver knocks on the window to get their attention -- then puts up the sign. I'm so excited. It's the one thing I've been able to keep secret about this whole trip. ;)

My DSD(15) gets to join us for a week. We don't get to see her very often so it will be really nice to get to spend some time with her.
Also, the week before we arrive at WDW, we will be house hunting in the Tampa area! :woohoo:

I have so much to be thankful for during my upcoming trip. First off, I get to go solo. I love Corey with all of my heart, but she knows that I need pixie dust, so she has encouraged me to go alone this time. Next, I get to meet a couple of great DIS'ers, OrlandoMike and RickinNYC & his partner, Joe. These are really great guys and I am really looking forward to meeting them in person. I get to meet Deb Wills on the 20th, which is a late breaking major upgrade to my 3 day park plan! I have missed her by a matter of hours a couple of trips now, so finally getting to meet her is an honor that I am so looking forward to. Finally, I get to have Lunch with an Imagineer! I have wanted to do this for a very long time, because I am a huge Disney geek. Oh, and I get to stay at POR for the first time too! It's going to be a great trip. Just 10 short days from right about now, I will be in an airplane that will be starting it's decent down to MCO.

This upcoming trip is special for many reasons.
--It's my very first trip to WDW! 32 years in the making...
--It's our very first true family vacation. Just me, DH, DS9 & DD6.
--It's the kids' very first airplane ride and also their first trip to WDW.
Hoping to make it a little more often if it all goes well...(which really, how could it not go well??? This is Disney we're talking about!)

I am beyond excited for our upcoming June trip mainly because my family will be travelling with my SIL, BIL and DNephew.
At home we live about 40 minutes away and don't get to see each other as often as we would like because of all of our schedules. We spend a few days each year on vacation together at the shore.
My kids and my nephew get along fabulously. I'm always sad that they don't see each other more than 1x a month. I grew up with 3 cousins on the same block, 2 more around the corner and 3 more a few blocks away. We were all so close, vacationed together and love/hated each other intensely.
When we go in June the kids will be 5, 7 and 8. I can't wait for them to be in Disney together and I hope they will remember it forever.
Oh yeah, and we'll be there during Star Wars Weekends!!

NOT THIS YEAR!!! We decided to make it a package and I am excited to see how it feels! :dance3:

I always love going to WDW, and every trip is special for one reason or another. My husband and I will be going over Mother's Day this year. My mom died in 2005 from cancer. She is the one who "raised me on Disney" and even took a family trip to WDW all the way from South Dakota just a month before her death. Instead of visiting her grave to honor her this Mother's Day, I intend to visit one of her favorite places on earth. I'll sit in the Florida sun at Downtown Disney and thank God for giving me such a wonderful mom. She left me so much more than a taste for all things Disney, but our times together at WDW will be a special memory that I'll always be thankful for.

Our trip this May marks eight years since my husband and I first visited the Disney parks together. And we get to go by ourselves! Usually we are with family and/or friends, so this "just the two of us" trip will be fun! And it's our first time staying at the POP Century! Yeah!

From 2002 until 2007, I was fortunate to be a "Cast Member" - I worked for a Disney subsidiary which had nothing to do with the theme parks. Nevertheless, I got to enjoy all of the CM benefits...free park admission, half price hotel, meal discounts, etc.
Our first trip to WDW (DW, DD and myself) was in September, 2002. Since then, we've visited at least once a year, sometimes twice. They were always short trips (usually four nights), but we always crammed a lot in.
In two days, DD and I will be making our last trip for awhile (DW has elected to stay home...she can't take our "commando" style anymore!). We've got eight complimentary one-day Park Hopper passes left from my Disney days (they sold my division last year). DD was 7 when we went down in 2002...she's 14 now...we are planning to have a great time from Friday until Tuesday, riding all of our favorite rides and remembering all of the wonderful times we've had at WDW these past six years.
And if you 're in Orlando this weekend and you see a grey-bearded guy with a Green Bay Packers baseball cap and a Beatles shirt, walking with his beautiful 14-year old daughter, please say hello!

Grinningghost-hope you have fun! Where are you staying?
It is my DH's bday on the 20th, our anniversary on the 21st, and our bday on the 22nd and since my DH is SUCH a great guy, I am giving up being a mean wife and letting him have his Keys to the Kingdom Tour, even though I like to believe that WDW runs on magic. He is taking me to a few great dinners, and this is our first solo trip since 2004. And I met a great DISer that is sharing a Wishes cruise with me on the 22nd. Hi,
I am celebrating many things. I am close to 50 pounds lighter than I was when we were there in 2001.
I am celebrating my son's high school graduation in June and I earned my Master's and will walk in that ceremony in May.
Once we start tuition payments in Sept, I am not sure how long I will have to wait to go again!
This is my and DH's third trip and my kids' second!
We leave in 9 days and I am very excited!

This trip is sooooo extremely exciting for us because it's going to be our first and we've been planning for years. We planned on taking the kids when they were younger and dh was diagnosed with kidney disease. We were in our twenties with three young children. He had to be on dialysis and then had a transplant. Luckily everything seems to be getting back on track and the kids are now 13, 12 & 8. We are so excited and especially happy that we can make it while all three are still in gr. school. This trip literally brings tears to my eyes, lol.

I live in SC, my friend lives in AZ...we have seen each other twice in 8 years, but it always seems like it was just yesterday! We are so excited and blessed to be able to share some Disney magic together (and with our little princesses)!
My next trip will be my first stay as a DVC'er. I bought Saratoga Springs, but we are staying at Vero for 3 days and then OKW (Never stayed there) in June. Then the beauty of DVC hit me like a "light bulb" moment.:goodvibes I was wondering were we should stay on the night we arrive, since we don't check into Vero until the next day. I usually try to find the least expensive place, but where's the magic in that????
So, on a whim, I called to see if anything was available at BCVillas. I would never normally stay there because of the expense. But - heck - now I have points. And guess what - I was able to get a studio for one night. :woohoo: I have always wanted to stay near Epcot and walk in at night. Plus I will get to use that heavenly pool. It really feels like a special treat. And I am going to hang at that pool until I am good and ready to leave for Vero the next day.
Can't wait for this trip! We get to go because I kicked my nasty smoking habit! :cheer2:

Major kudos to all of you who quit smoking!!! It's been 12 years for me. The day I "quit" I was actually asked by my then 5 year old daughter to stop. That day also happened to be the day I went to court to finalize my divorce! And I will be very honest here and say that the hardest day of my life on both fronts, but I haven't had a single ciggie since - not that I haven't craved one every now and then, let me tell you!! But it was the best request ever asked of me. So keep up the good and healthy work, its soooo worth it for you, and you all deserve one of these::grouphug: and a big:cheer2:

We are surprising our daughter with a trip to Disney for her 10th Birthday. We are already planning to take our annual trip in September so she will be stunned to be going again so soon. Her Birthday is Dec 6th. We have planned to have a family party on the 5th and surprise her with a box filled with Balloons & Disney paraphenalia along with a note saying "Pack your bags princess - we're going to Disney tomorrow!!!" I'm torn between wishing it would hurry & get here and not wanting the September trip to be over too fast! DS16 has elected to opt out on both trips this year! Yes, we are looking into some therapy for him.

This time we did Deluxe Dining and I booked a character breakfast every morning. My 2 year old LOVES the characters and this is going to be the best thing ever for him! I can't wait to see him in the Phiharmagic show. I took him to IMAX to see the Santa movie and he LOVED it. He is going to flip out when he sees PHM again with the glasses on!!!! I think this time he will really enjoy Disney! :mickeyjum

This trip is special for me because I am taking my DD5 for the first time. I was waiting for her to be 5 before taking her. Even though I have been in 06 and 07 with girlfriends I refused to go to AK because I have never been and I wanted it to be a special thing for my daughter and I to see together. She is a HUGE animal lover, so I am sure she is going to love it!!!! Most girls play house or school and she actually plays Bindi the Jungle Girl!!

In January I get to take my Disney God Daughter for her first trip!! She'll be just a year old. The day she was born I told her that I was going to be her favorite because I'm taking her to Disney!

We're finally doing financially great, after my husband almost had his foot amputated a few years ago in an accident on the jobsite. He's regained complete use of his once mangled leg and can walk. We are so proud of him-this will be our best trip yet. He'll be walking, and we can afford to pay for my parents to come-after all when he got hurt they helped us financially. A vacation is the leaset we can do. We all need to relax and just unwind. I am so excited!:grouphug:

This trip is super special as it is our first trip to Disney EVER! My mom always said we would go when my youngest brother was old enough. Well, she died when he was 21 and we never did go:sad1: I don't want to have regrets in life so we decided to forgo any remodeling on our over 100 year old house this year and take our tax money and have some fun! My husband has never been to Disney either. I am really excited about surprising my DD3 with breakfast in the castle. While we are doing that, my DH and DS5 are going to build their own light sabers!! It will be nice to have some one on one time. I think this trip is just going to be some magical!!! I've been waiting 31 years for this!!!

You are going to have such a great time. And you are correct, life is too short. My DH had saved some money while in Iraq and said we could replace the engagement ring I managed to throw away several years ago, or go to WDW. Time with the family seemed so much more important.
I also think it is cool that you girls will get to go do your thing and the boys theirs!
Take lots of pictures and post a trip report!

The most exciting thing about my next trip is that we are staying at the Poly! I can hardly contain my joy! This will be my first time at a monorail resort, and aside from a stay at the AKL, this will be the only other deluxe resort I have stayed at. I am stoked....I even want to go to the fakey luau!

What is exciting about my upcoming trip? Well first of all I won it! I bought one raffle ticket for a fundraiser for the local Catholic school. I nearly passed on buy it because it was an expencive ticket $20, but I did an I am glad I did.
What else is exciting is that it is a trip for two, so no kids. DH and I didn't have a real honeymoon when we got married because we paid for the wedding ourselves and wanted a wedding more then a honeymoon, we always figured we would have a honeymoon at some point. :rotfl: Well kids came along and we never ended up having a real honeymoon. So we are using this trip we won to be our honeymoon....14 years late. We are going during Food and Wine because it is something we always wanted to do but figured that we would wait to do it until the girls are grown. So we don't have to wait now.
So many very cool things to be excited about. :woohoo:

Tons of exciting stuff for us.
*This is my family's first trip to Disney. (I was there in the 80's.)
*We will be celebrating DD's birthday while we are there.
*This is our first real vacation as a family of five.
*DD had emergency brain surgery last summer and this her treat for going through everything that she did.
*We were able to get into CBR with a code.
*We will be there during the Christmas season.
*We might be meeting with friends while we are down there so all our kids can experience Disney at Christmas together.
We are really excited.

Where do I begin :)
*DS first trip to Disney
*DD5 first time she will be tall enough to ride all of the rides....and let me tell you she is super-excited:cheer2:
*first time we will be at Disney on Christmas :santa:
*first time in 4 years i have spent Christmas with my mom (she is going with us and since we live in different cities we usually spend Thanksgiving with her and my dad and Christmas with my DH mom)
The only down side to the trip is that my Grandmother was supossed to go too since she knew that due to her health this would be the last time she would go to DisneyWorld and she was excited about going with me and my family. Well, last month she got very ill and was hospitalized :sad1: . To make a long story short, she is now unable to travel any more (she can't even go to the grocery store) so she had to pull out of the trip. My mom was going to cancel too but my Grandma told her that "if you do and I am still alive, I will kill you" . So, mom is still going and my sister is going in place of my Grandma and we will be thinking about her the whole time

The most special part about our trip for New Years (Dec. 29th-Jan. 4th), and the reason that we are squeezing together the dimes to take it, is that it will be mine and DBF's last opportunity to spend the time together for several months. In March, he'll be leaving for 3-6 months (no official decision yet) to study abroad in Spain. We're both still college students, and have been together for 3 years (almost 4 by the time he leaves). We really wanted to take a trip to Disney before he leaves, and since I go to school a couple of hours away from where he is, New Years was the only time we could both get the time and afford to go. So it'll be a last hurrah of sorts before spending all that time apart. We both love Disney and are so excited about this trip! :cool1: He's never seen the Christmas decorations, and we'll be celebrating his birthday a couple of weeks late while we're there. His parents are even taking a couple of days to join us since they have a few extra days on their no-expiration tickets.
And I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but I MIGHT pick up a bit of extra bling while we're there! :ssst: He wants to take me ring shopping this summer, because he's planning on popping the question either before he leaves for Spain or right after he comes back. I know he wants to surprise me, so it may not be at Disney where I'd expect it. But who knows?! :confused3 Even if it doesn't happen on the trip, it'll still be wonderful!! :yay:

This trip we are taking my uncle's family to the world. It is my uncle and his three year old son's first trip to the world. His wife has gone before. They are staying for about a week. My family and I are staying for a week after they leave. This is our longest trip. This is also my high school graduation trip and I start college a week after we get back.

I just booked a solo trip for August! My first one! Mom gets to go away for a few days and do what she wants! I can't wait to take the Keys to the Kingdom Tour, stay up really late, sit in as many turns of the Animator's Studio as I want, really explore World Showcase (and not just the Kidcot stations for a change!) and spend time at the things no one in my family ever seems to want to! I'm nervously excited about this!

Reading all these happy reasons for trips makes me happy cry! I love it! Our "exciting" reason is: we just got back in Feb. and already feel like it's been 4 years since we left. So my DH and I were going to get 2nd jobs to try and finance a trip next year. Well due to a budgeting miscalculation, we found enough money to finance the trip! I started doing the "dance" :dance3: and almost peed on myself! Not really but it was that exciting. So, I got to give my DH the call to say, "we CAN go again!" Any trip to Disney is special but especially one that you though might not be possible! But really, congrats to all you who have more special reasons than me! I hope all your Disney wishes get fulfilled!
