R.i.p. Pop

I am very sad to say that my father, Robert, passed away yesterday at the age of 70. Thankfully, Pop passed in his sleep but had been ill for many years. He proudly served his country in the US Army for 23 years, including two combat tours in Vietnam. He was a quiet and gentle man who's greatest joys in his life where his family, his television and a steady supply of Dunkin Donuts coffee. I did have the pleasure of working with my father for a few years at the post office before I was transfered to another station. We spent the last 12 years spending Saturday and Sunday mornings together at the coffee shop, talking and listening to his last hobby, XM satellite radio.

He was my best friend and a great father. I will miss you. Take care. I'll see you again someday.

I lost my dad 15 years ago VERY suddenly when I was 14 years old, so I never had to opportunity so I never had the opportunity to share so many things in my life with him. Being older or younger doesn't make it any easier, but you can take solace in that he's a peace now and no longer ill. Best wishes and :grouphug:

My heart breaks for you. I lost my beloved dad 14 years ago, and although time has gone by, I miss him every day. He, too, proudly served his country - during the Korean War. And like your Pop his greatest pleasures in life were his family and grandchildren. My fondest wish is to meet him again in Heaven. Many hugs to you:hug: :hug: :hug:

I lost my dad 4 1/2 years ago and it still hurts. A day does not go by where I wish he would walk through the door or call me on the phone. What I would do just to talk to him again. I am 46, my dad died at 68 from cancer.Just keep knowing that he is watching you and is with you whenever you need him. You can feel him when you need to.
My heart goes out to you. Your not alone, we all go through it , just some sooner than others.

I want to express my sincere gratitude for all the posts of prayer and support offered by the wonderful people on this magnificent board.

We buried Pop on Saturday. I have been in a terrible depression since the day he died but I am trying to stay strong. I miss him desperately and will miss him for the rest of my life.

Thank you friends so much. I feel that Disney people are a very special breed of people and I am proud to be accepted into such a wonderful family.
