Can you wear CROCS all day in the park and not get blisters? We went in Jan/08 and it was chilly, but still saw people wearing them all over the place. Both with and without socks. They look comfortable and we are going back in April. I am tempted to try a pair, but.......I'm talking about hopping from opening to closing, no breaks :woohoo:

I too am thinking of buying myself a pair. My mom is a nurse and she swears by them and wears them almost every day. Heck, they even sell them in WDW now. Everyone always says they are so comfortable. I guess we should all give them a try at least once.

Lots of Croc lovers here on the DIS.

I didn't go for them because they gave me no support - now keep in mind I'm a jolly, chubby lady!!!! I need a sneaker or a Teva type shoe.

And as I've stated before - please don't flame me!!!! - I don't like the looks of the bright colored Crocs on boys and men. A nice black or brown Croc, maybe, but pink??? Lime green??? Nope.

And only Iron Chef Mario can wear orange ones!

I wear my crocs everywhere - including 8 days at Disney. I've never gotten a blister.

I love my crocs, though I'm in need of a new pair :goodvibes I do prefer to wear socks with them

I LOVE them. I wear them for work, and was afraid to try them all day in the parks until last year and for me there is no going back. I can't wear them with socks at the parks (even though I always have socks on for work) due, I think, to the pace and distance that we walk at WDW. I have worn them in the rain several times and they dry out very quickly. Never a blister, hot-spot, or over-heated feet since I started wearing them, and I often find myself consciously thinking about how good they feel. I have seven pairs now.
Just one humble opinion.

Crocs= not very fashionable but OH so wonderful for the feet! I have bone spurs AND I am flat footed which spells a disaster for walking all day at Disney. Our last trip I wore my Crocs and I had ZERO problems. No blisters, no tired feet or ankles, no painful heels.

I L-O-V-E my Crocs!

Crocs at WDW= happy walking feet!!

I have many pairs in several different styles, and they are all pretty wonderful for walking all day and night at WDW. I am a Pooh-sized lady, and my feet gat awfully sore and full of blisters if I wear any other type of shoe. With Crocs, I can commando my way through a weeklong WDW trip and my feet stay happy and blister-free.

The combo of Crocs and BodyGlide is da bomb!!!

yes, crocs work and work well... but like anything else, you should wear them a while be fore logging 14 miles a day in them.

I am a bigger guy with extremely flat feet, and I LOVE MY CROCS! I have a black pair (can't do the neon green, sorry!) and I wear them all the time. I even got my wife to get a pair- she got the Mickey ones!

I would recommend you try them out before you plan on weariing them for 12 hours at a time. If you buy them at WDW, perhaps carry a pair of sneakers with you the first day in case they don't agree with your feet. I think that most people end up loving them though, even if they do make your feet look funny! :goodvibes

I love my Crocs.
I live in PA and as long as it's not snowing I wear them all the time. I wear the with or without socks. No problems.

BUT, when I went to WDW in Dec 07 I wore my Disney Crocs without socks and got terrible blisters on the top of my one foot. It was horrible. I have no idea why since I wore these many times at home with no problem. I don't think I would have had blisters if I had worn socks.

I did wear my Capri Crocs flip flop type with no problems, but for the rest of my vacation it was either my worn-in sneakers or my Crocs Capri.

After coming home I continued to wear those same Disney Crocs and haven't had any blisters since. Odd.

I only have one question, any crocs that I try on are always WAY to WIDE
I must say I have very narrow feet...any suggestions for these feet?:)
Thanks

I get a blister on the top of my foot anytime I do much walking in my Disney Crocs without socks. I got a few pair of black low socks to wear with them. Other than that I have less problems with my feet than when I've worn traditional sneakers. In the summer I've worn the Athens and they are fine too for a long day.

When I saw the "crocs" for the first time in WDW, I was like what these pople wearing, I just couldn't bring myself to even try them on...............When I came home from the trip I went onto the Croc website I found a pair that is a sutable style for my taste. I asked around and alot of people said there all the same comfort but different styles.

So I boiught the mens SOBEK I just got a size smaller.......Oh they are so comfy and I can walk in them all day.

My April trip will be the first time I try them out in the parks.........I think they will be fine because now when i wear my sneakers for along period of time they start to bother me, but not the crocs.

Hope this was helpful.........:thumbsup2

I wore my crocs during a previous trip. Long days, for a full week. My feet were very sore by the end of each day.

On a trip following that one, I decided to give my new sneakers a try. Same long days for a week. My feet were never sore at the end of each day.

On our most recent trip, I wore my crocs the first day, sore feet. Switched back to my sneakers, no more sore feet.

I enjoy my crocs for light duty. But for heavy duty, commando style, Disney walking, my sneakers are the best.

Do they have to be real Crocs or can they be the no-brand kind. They have them so much cheaper at places like Target. Anyone buy the no-brand and still have such good luck?

CROCS ARE GREAT! Not only do they dry off quickly after a water ride, but they are super comfortable. Also they are really light weight and harbor no odor whatsoever.

Do yourself a favor and buy a pair. My family wears them 24x7 while at Disney and we've never had a blister.

my aunt has the target brand and she said they are comfortable too. She has not worn them for long periods of time, but she did say they seem simliar.

But to also comment to the first post I was a hater of crocs, thought they were ugly and weird. But then one day my mom got me the disney ones as a gift and I have loved them since. once you have a pair they grow on you, and I personally think they are really cute. Me and a couple of my volleyball teamates were even thinking about getting them in blue for our entire team to wear. I have not worn them at Disney yet, but I do want to say that even if you are a hater, you can become a lover. Even as a teenager, I was persuaded to appreciate them.

I got the Scutes Crocs, which look like a open toe and open back Addidas type sandal, I wore them all day in September, in 100 degree heat and humidity, also it rained about once an hour, no blisters at all!!! My DH has the Scutes as well and no blisters for him. DD had regular Disney crocs, no blisters for her either. I just got the Minnie Jane crocs, they are Mary Jane looking crocs with Minnie head holes instead of regular holes, check them out on the Crocs website. :goodvibes

I can't believe now one else has mentioned this... so here is what I found...

At home for eight hours in a day... no blisters, wonderful comfort... :woohoo:

At Disney World same length of time... Bilisters on the top inside foot area due to a lot more rubbing than usual to that area...
Reason for more rubbing than usual... more walking of course...
On top of that, due to the way in which you have to walk in them... How many people have to lift your toes higher in Crocs than in tennis shoes?... In order to keep that supper grabby material from trying to toss you on your nose because you didn't get it up off the ground far enough... because there is soo much foot room in them you have to lift your foot higher to get them off the ground... normal amounts of walking it doesn't show...
The unsual amount of walking while at Disney coupled with the extra toe lift involved in each steps wears your legs out quicker than usual... The muscles in the front of your legs, not your calves, is where you really feel it... which makes it that much harder to keep them from drooping and the shoe from grabbing... which causes extra rubbing where you don't usually have it... hehe... shew... which causes the blisters...

What I have found works best for me is to wear the Crocs to the parks during the day... but have tennis shoes and blister bandaids to switch too in the evening when you're too tired to continue doing the high step... Best of both worlds I guess... :cool2:

The Beach ones are the only ones I can wear, and I DO the entire trip. Various pairs.

I will say that DD 4.5 has been complaining of her leg/ foot (it varies) hurting for several months. We took her to the doctor twice before we were referred to a physical therapist. During the first visit, the PT recommended tennis shoes with good support for DD, who has worn Crocs for the past 2 years. She said they really weren't good for kids whose feet were developing -- plus, DD needs arch support.

She hasn't complained as much now, and anytime I tell her to go get her Crocs on the weekends she gets very indignant about "what the doctor said."
(She did wear Crocs 100% last Sept. and had few problems, though.)

wore my mary jane crocs for the entire trip...actually switched between 2 pairs i had and no blisters or sweaty feet. I wore no socks. My whole family wore them including the grandparents and we loved them. No leg pains, my mother has some foot problems that went away when she started wearing them. If you get some for your trip, break them in for a good month before as they take some getting used to.

Excellent observation Foofness. It took me a while to figure out why the FRONT of my legs were sore. :confused3
But, I wouldn't trade them for anything!

I suggest you buy them well before your trip to make sure you like them AND try each pair on. They are moulded and may have little flaws, just because you wear a sixe X, doesn't mean your second pair will fit the same way. ALWAYS try them on.

Another plus, they're great for flying... you can kick them off easily for the security inspection.

I'll answer that by saying you get what you pay for. The comfort of the originals is unparalleled by any knock off. JMHO.

Love 'em. But, if you plan on trying them, try them first at home. I wear them with socks at Disney, because I want absolutely no risk of an irritation. I wore them for 10 days, and so did my family, and we did not have one foot complaint!

I am a very rare breed - a woman - who HATES shoes - I mean like Hate with a passion. Just as much as I hate shoes - I love my crocs. They are the only shoes I wear unless I have to dress up for something. Even on formal night on the 7 day Magic cruise I was soooo tempted to wear my crocs under my formal gown (no one could see my feet). I didn't though.. but man I wanted to.

my dd 4 wears her crocs every where, even disney all day, but with socks. She has 4 pair i believe and that's about all she wears when i say "go get some shoes"
Now me, i love mine and wear them all the time at home. Wore them 1 day at Epcot on our last trip and my feet were killing me by the end of the day and had blisters on both feet - and that was with socks.
Just like everything else - everyone is different.

I would completely agree. The only blisters I ever got were from a Croc knock-off. I wear my crocs all year long. They are a treat to my feet!

I would say invest the $30 in a pair. I don't think that you would regret it. I got hooked on them immediately. And Yes, I heard about them initially from the dis boards! :cheer2:

I swore I would never buy them, they are ugly and blech...you know what they say about never say never:rotfl2: I own several pairs including the winter ones with the fur that I wear all the time, DD's both own several pairs, and DS owns 1 pair. I am pooh size, have horrible knees that have some screws in them, and am into the teens in knee surgeries. Not only do I wear them all day in the parks with no socks, my knees do not bother me nearly as much as they do when I wear sneakers:confused3 It is really strange but I love these shoes!

There were the only shoes I wore on our most recent trip. Everyone else in the group complained about sore and tired feet and I just kept pointing down and smiling. I have several pairs and I even exercise in them now because they are more comfortable than anything I've ever worn.

With my first pair of crocs I got blisters at first, but I was also doing some major gardening with them so perhaps thats why.

On our last trip I wore my tennis shoes on the first day. My feet were KILLING me after that day. So I switched to my furry crocs. That was a bit better but they seem harder than the regular crocs. So I bought myself a pair of pink Mickey crocs a few days into our trip. I ended up wearing them every day. Once the pain from the first day wore off I had no more pain for the rest of the trip. The really are comfortable shoes.

The talking trash can in Tomorrow Land made fun of me for wearing socks with them. It was very tempting to reply to his comments (since I knew what guy was controlling it) but I didn't want to ruin the fun for everyone. LMBO! ;)

I have a pair, I wore once for a long period of time and did not find them that comfortable, I got blisters. I will no longer let my kids wear them out anymore other than at a beach or around the house. My dd was running in them at MGM to see a character and tripped and fell, scrapping her face very badly (mind you she could have fallen wearing any shoe but I feel because they fit loosely and the rubbery material didn't help kwim??) Also my ds had his croc chewed by the esculator leaving Soarin' He was completely panicked and said Mommy my shoe is stuck, the whole bottom front of the shoe was gone!!!!! Thank God it was just his shoe. I wrote to Crocs and they said it was not their shoes it was the esculator,:scared1:

Love my Crocs!! Last September when we went for a vacation I wore my Croc flip flops to all the parks except for AK (I'm clumsy). Wore sneakers there and regretted it the entire day as I had blisters on the bottom of my feet. Thank goodness for DISers mentioning moleskin. Got that & then wore the Croc flip flops the rest of the trip everywhere. DD bought me the furry Crocs for Xmas and I wore them everywhere for our vacation at WDW in January. Got the light blue ones so they don't really stand out in a crowd. I don't wear socks with them though - they're definitely warm enough without. It's going to be hard to make me go back to wearing sneakers at all. JMHO................:confused3

I have 4 pairs of Crocs and LOVE them. It's the best thing to ever happen to my feet and knees. My kids each have a pair too. I can't get DH in a pair. Me and DS's wore them all around Yellowstone NP last summer, we did a lot of walking and no problems. I want to get a Disney pair for our trip in May.

I never thought of wearing them through airport security and on the plane. Excelllent idea!! I'm hitting the crocs.com website right away so I can break them is ASAP. Either very dark or kahki color for me :cool1:

I was just wondering if some of you could tell me what size shoe you normally wear and then what size crocs you got. I know there is a chart on the crocs website, but I want to know how you guys size them.

I just realized I bought two different sizes. I got a brown pair that the size says M7/W9 on the bottom. These fit with no extra room. My toes go to the end. I also got a navy blue pair and those say on the bottom W10-11
L M8-9. These fit with extra room.

I LOVE CROCS!!!!

I bought them after reading about them on the DIS, and three trips in a row, never a blister or even foot pain. I won't do WDW without them again.

I have the regular Crocs and a pair of the Mari-jane style. We went to WDW in January and I wore socks with mine - still no blisters.

And yes, we go from morning to night. If you buy them, be sure to get the right size. I think they size on the small side so get them roomy so you won't get blisters.

Is the W for momen and the M for men? Just a guess. I have only had 3 pair of crocs and all the same size yet all fit differently. Two are big and one fits just right. When I bought the ones that feel a bit too big I tried the next size down and they were way to snug. All of them are a size larger than I wear.

I wear Crocs all the time, as I work in the medical field so I am on my feet all the time and they are great. I do have to admit that after 2 months of wearing my Mickey Crocs, I did get my first blister. I had no socks on and wore them for almost 10 hours in the heat so there was a little bit of rubbing resulting in the blister on the top of my right foot. So its back to socks for me.

I wore my crocs the whole time I was there. Brought 2 other pairs of shes but they were the most comfortable. I always wear socks with them all I did try to go without them one day. I was fine. No hot spots, blisters or anything. I will only wear black or brown ones though. Not really into colors plus I feel like I am too old for that.

First let me say I'm a 43 year old guy who swore would never wear those ugly shoes.

Well, last August after the second day of my ten day trip, my feet were killing me and I had a bad blister on one. I was wearing very expensive sport sandels.

I was desperate and bought a pair of Mickey crocs at the gift shop. My feet immediately felt great and my blister went away. I wore them for the rest of the trip without socks.

I will never go to Disney without them again.

We were in MK last April and it rained for most of the morning...I am SO glad I wore my CROCS. We (DH to be and I) simply took off our socks and were ready for a puddle splashing extravaganza! When the rain stopped our feet dried out in no time...we sat and watched the Rainy Day Parade and I couldnt of been happier in my Mickey ponch and my crocs.

In summary theyre great for all weathers!

CROCS are the best. When I was at Disney in August my ankles literally swelled up like a balloon from the heat(it was 105 degrees the whole time there with only 5 minutes of rain)and my crocs were the only thing that gave me relief while walking. I tried my flip flops but they did ot help...my suggestion, especially if going in the summer, is to wear crocs. My husband who hated them at first bought a pair of navy blue pair for the trip and swore by them the whole time. My daughter just loved hers with the disney jibitz...

I was there in Jan. wearing crocs. I bought the fur lined pair so they were extra warm. I am definitely not a croc lover and swore I would never wear them. My feet and legs killed. No support at all! I wear them in my house in place of slippers. Perfect for that.

Another Croc-o-holic here! I live in mine at home but at WDW I do alternate every other day with my Tevas. To the OP, watch the Budget Boards closely - someone is always posting a code for a discount on Crocs.

Also, regarding the comment someone made about them being smelly? I wash mine periodically in my front-loading washing machine - on gentle cycle - and they always look and smell good.

Let me start this off by saying that I am a MAJOR shoe snob and hated crocs with a passion. But, after many tesitmonials from friends and family I thought I'd give them a try. I don't wear them in the real world, but at Disney I wear no other shoe!

We were there in Dec for a week - wore my regular crocs and my mary jane style crocs. We were there at times from 7 a.m. to 12 a.m. with very few breaks and my feet were fine - no blisters, no pain.

I want to also mention that I have back issues thanks to a very complicated pregnancy, but I didn't have any pain (unlike past trips) and I give all credit to my crocs!

How do these bad boys run? I was cursed with huge boats for feet I can wear an 11 if its a true 11. I am already dreading what to wear when we go in December. I hate sneakers. I am a flip flop or Ugg girl that is literally all I wear. Everyone keeps saying that crocs are comfy so I was planning on trying a pair this summer. I think they are so ugly but if they are comfy they are worth trying.

I love Crocs. I tried them for the first time on my last trip, and now I will wear nothing else, (except I will change into "nice" sandals when I eat at signature restaurants.) I have three pairs right now, a pink and a blue pair of the Cayman ones, and a lilac Mary Janes pair. I'm thinking about getting a lime green Cayman pair, and then I can color cordiante all of my outfits. Does that seem obsessive? :rotfl:

I have alway been a die hard gotta wear sneakers for support for a whole day of Disney touring. But for our trip this coming July, I bought a pair of teva style shoes by Sketchers. I thought about Crocs, but I do not worry about my feet hurting as much as I worry about my legs getting tired. I just feel like I need support for that kind of walking. But after hearing all of you I may have to break down and give them a try!

I have never been fond of crocs, because . .well . .they are ugly, but as I start thinking about our impending trpi to Disney and which shoe would be best for a weeks worth of walking . .I find myself drawn to the thought of possibly giving these shoes a chance. I have heard so many good things about how comfortable they are and how you don't seem to be sore at the end of the day. So they leads me to my question? Where can I get a good pair?

It is possible to get blisters in Crocs. In Sept i spent 10 days in them and never got a blister. But in December I spent 4 days in my Crocs and got blisters by day 2! We spent a look more time walking in Dec so thats probably why.

I was a bit skeptical of these shoes myself. I thought they were ugly and that people were exaggertting when they said that they were the most comfortable shoe they had ever worn. Well when I was at Disney this past October my feet were hurting so bad, which in itself was really strange because in all my trips to the World this was the first time this ever happened. It hurt so bad that I had to stop and sit down, this was also the very first time in my whole that I actually got blisters on my feet. I finally broke down on my fourth day and bought a pair of the mickey head crocs. It was amazing, instantly my feet stopped hurting. My kids and my husband were making of fun me though because I said I would never wear them. Of course my teenager thinks they are the ugliest thing ever. I love them now and would never go back to disney without them.

What, if I may ask, is BodyGlide?

An anti blister/anti chafing solid stick (looks like antiperspirant). You can find it online at sites like drugstore.com, or at running/sporting goods stores like Dick's Sports.

I rub BodyGlide on the tops, sides, and heels of my feet, then put Crocs on and wear them at the parks. The Crocs keep my feet from getting tired and sore, and the BodyGlide keeps them from getting blisters.

I wear them for days when I am standing a lot but I cannot wear them for lots of walking. I tried last trip to WDW and my feet, ankles, and legs hurt so bad at the end of the day I wanted to cry. Not enough support for me. I should mention that I have very narrow feet with high arches and skinny ankles so that could be part of the problem. I also have to wear them with socks; I just cannot stand the way they feel without them.

I alternated, Crocs one day and sneakers the next. It was the first trip I didn't have sore feet.

DH wore his Crocs on the first day and got a HUGE blister. We finally got to use the moleskin we've been bringing trip after trip. He wore his sneakers the rest of the trip.

One thing I haven't seen anyone address here...do they make anyone else's feet sweat? I mean really sweat?? I had a lot of problems with my feet last June on my trip, so I shelled out the money for the mickey crocs at MK. While they were comfy, my feet were so disgustingly sweaty in a few hours, I couldn't wait to get them off. I've never seen anyone mention this. Is it taboo?:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I took tennis shoes and mary jane crocs on my trip last fall. I wore the Mary Jane Crocs to MNSSHP and we were there until the end and my feet and legs were tired. So I wore my sketcher tennis shoes the rest of the week and my feet were fine the rest of the trip - no blisters and not sore. I think it really depends on your foot. I don't have a regular pair of crocs - just knock-offs. I think regular crocs give more support than the mary janes, so I'll probably try that our next trip. I would say - give the crocs a shot, but take a good pair of broken in tennis shoes also.

I wore my Croc flip-flops everyday of our 5 day trip last year. I don't know about the other styles of them though. I never got a blister and my feet never ached.

Odd.

I wear Crocs all the time at home. But at WDW I don't like how sweaty I feel in them. I wear them for a little bit but then I just switch to my walking sandals. But in general all I wear is Crocs at home. SOOOO comfortable!!!!!

I wore them (without socks) every day of our Jan 08 trip and I'm glad I did. They were so comfortable and I had no blisters after walking around all day :)

I have the capris, I can't wear the normal crocs. I love my flip flop crocs. I hate shoes with a passion, if I didn't have to wear shoes I wouldn't. Wore them to Disney this year and I never put on my sneakers, my feet were much more comfortable. I have a hard time finding a comfortable pair of sneakers and these were comfortable. I also wear them around campus during the summer and fall. great pair of shoes let me tell you.

Hey all you Crocaholics! Thanks for all the positive feedback. I went to the local CROCS kiosk today and bought a pair of Beaches that fit perfect. I am breaking them in right now.

But my DD tagged along and can't wear the Beach because she is between sizes. She is trying the Cayman style (comes in whole sizes) but had to order them today from crocs.com.

The nice sales lady gave me 2 "free shipping" codes to use. They both work, but I don't know for how much longer. To anyone who wants to order online they are:

Thanks again for your help.

My son alternated with a pair of cheap crocs this past Aug-Sep, and did just fine. . . . then again, he was in a stroller a lot of the time.
.
Two weeks ago was our 1st non-stroller trip (I split the savings with him)!
.
Guess I would wear them all day on a long shopping day to the malls, etc. and see how one's feet hold out . . .

It seems like a lot of the people who like them either have flat feet or normal arches. I haven't seen anyone with high arches say they support enough. Is there anyone with high arches that's had good Croc experiences? My arch is so high that even high arch supports rarely touch it, and I have a really hard time getting comfortable shoes.

Crocs and other 'what to wear on my feet' threads are maintained over on the Disney Tips Board.. Moving this one over there.

Thanks!

I wear my CROCS all time and my 20month old granddaughter loves hers. we
have a hard time convincing her to wear something that will keep her feet warm. We both wear them with no shoe socks though. The little dimples in the bottom rub my feet. You can buy socks in the same colors as the CROCS and it is not as noticeable as wearing white socks. Remember to order smaller than you would in other shoes.:tinker:

Lots of Croc lovers here on the DIS.

I didn't go for them because they gave me no support - now keep in mind I'm a jolly, chubby lady!!!! I need a sneaker or a Teva type shoe.

And as I've stated before - please don't flame me!!!! - I don't like the looks of the bright colored Crocs on boys and men. A nice black or brown Croc, maybe, but pink??? Lime green??? Nope.

And only Iron Chef Mario can wear orange ones!

DW needs arch support and will be bringing crocs and her shoes. she loves them at home all the time. we wear them at home after a long work week.

:thumbsup2 :goodvibes
