Hi All

Just found out that French school kids don't attend school on Wednesdays. Does anyone know if the park is very crowded on this day? How would it compare to a Friday or Sunday?

Thanks

Ralf

Hi ralf and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:
We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, DLP posting rules are here (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1477038), DIS posting guidelines can be found here (http://www.wdwinfo.com/guidelines.htm).

On the occassions we have been Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays were definitely more crowded than during midweek. Therefore Wednesday's should be quieter :)

not in my experience, I noticed no difference in crowd difference between wednesday and any other weekday. Saturday was horrendous, massive crowds.

That does not apply for all schools in France anymore as far as I know. Many schools are changing/have changed to Monday-Friday.
And even if there are many schools with no school on Wednesday the parents still have to work. As this is obviously different on Saturdays and Sundays I would rate the different days like this. (On normal weeks with no school holidays in France and UK)

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday is the less crowded days
followed by Friday and Wednesday which are a bit more crowded but you still can enjoy your day at the parks.
Then Sunday with long crowds and at last
Saturday. (We try to avoid Saturday the whole year!)

We are also going weds - sat, so are hoping to get most things done by sat, then spend saturday revisting favourites and stopping for hopefully ;) a long pleasent lunch at the lucky nugget saloon. Also going to use the time to do the disney shopping, will probably take all day in itself!:thumbsup2

I'll be at Disneyland on Monday and, depending on when we do
Paris during the day, it might be either that I'll be going Tuesday
or Wednesday.

Last year in May it was Monday and Thursday, but the bus company
decided to have a 5 day trip with three days in Paris.

We'll see what happens when I get there in September.

I was just about to ask the exact same question about whether Wednesdays are busy.

We're going on Tuesday 11th March for 3 nights :woohoo: . We arrive late on the Tuesday and only have a 2 day pass for the Weds and Thurs, so I was wondering which park would be better to visit on the Weds, or would it not make any real difference? :confused3

Maybe my experience isn't the norm, but I wouldn't leave shopping till the Saturday if it is the busiest day. We were there Tues-Fri the first week of December and found the whole time pretty even, with late morning and early afternoon having the longest, but still manageable queues. We pottered and browsed around the shops, planning on buying stuff the last evening - big mistake. On Friday evening the shops were like Claire's Accessories on a Saturday afternoon at home! In other words, you had to jostle and shuffle just to see what is on display. We ended up not buying half the things we'd planned to buy.

If I were you I'd buy as I go along, leaving Saturday as an atmosphere-soaking, people watching day, with a few opportune rides squeezed in if you happen to be in the right place at the right time.

You will find the shops are always busier in the evening. The ones in the Village shouldnt be too bad on the Saturday during the day.

Another good thing to do on the Saturday is some shows (either in studios or main park)

Thanks to all for replying!
I spent hours searching on the web for an answer until I stumbled upon this site.
