How difficult is it to book a trip between 12/25 and 1/1?

Darn near impossible if you don't book right at 11 months, possibly day by day if it's a small resort.

That was a tense few days, booking BWV day by day for the week of NYE! There were a few on this board who were giving each other encouragement, and we all were successful. The phone lines were very busy. I don't know how much is available for those who will be trying to move at 7 months, maybe people know if even the larger resorts sell out quickly.

It is not impossible and you do not have to do day-by-day, depending on resort choice. We have been to OKW for the last 3 xmas weeks and have had no trouble getting what we wanted (at 11 months and at 8 months), and they included xmas eve and day. We did not call day-to-day and have never done this for OKW since we joined in 1994. This year we booked for 12/28-1/02/09 at 11 months from check out-no day-to-day. Other resorts have a different story, but I have also been able to switch to bcv at 7 months in previous years without doing day-to-day. We love OKW for many reasons, but this is definitely a plus.

OKW and SSR, you could call 11 months from checkout. You might even call 10 months from checkout. They used to hold a lottery for that week.

I tried to book 5 days past 11month window from check-out at BWV and nothing. I am now on waiting list with hopes, but if nothing or very little by 7 month window I will try another resort. My other choices are AKV 2BR Savanna View, OKW GrandVilla or last resort BCV 2BR and so on... Does anyone want to wage odds or which one I can get at 7month window....?????

I called this morning right at opening 9am. I was surprised...NO PROBLEM getting the resv. at SSR. Arriving day after X-mas depart day after new year.

We did 12/24-12/31/06 and booked less than 6 mths out and had no problem getting a studio at VWL for the entire stay. I guess we got lucky.
