Okay DISers or is that WISHers now ;)...
What are your suggestions for training logs. Is there a place on the net to store my info. What are the things I want to keep track of.
Right now I'm using excel and just writing my time/distance and journalling a few things like weather conditions (boy oh boy there is tons of snow here this year).
I hoping it warms up to -5C to go out to day for a 5k.:surfweb: Need another coffee 1st though.

I like to use a weekly desk calender. I write down in the beginning of the week what my daily goals are then after my workout I record what I actually did. A bit of compare and contrast to perceived and actual goals accomplished. And this gives me a nice way to count down the weeks towards a race.
I also love my nike plus so I have another way to record miles, times, and calories.
Good luck and welcome!

I have a written log that I keep everything in, but I also use the online log at http://www.runningahead.com where I can build graphs, keep track of mileage on my shoes, etc.

I use http://traininglog.runnersworld.com. It rocks:thumbsup2 It has a place for your routes, even a link to the google site where you can store and measure your routes. It has a place for the pair of shoes that you wear as well as how many miles those shoes have on them. It is really nice and its free (the best type, imo).

I use marathonguide.com. It's free, simple to use and logs the info. i'm interested in keeping track of.
Distance/ Time/ Weight/ Heartrate/ Type of Activity/ General Notes Section.
My favourite feature is the shoe log because I rotate shoes of the same model. Keeps easy track of how much mileage each pair has.

I use the Ultimate Workout Log, by Suzanne Schlosberg. It breaks down the days, weeks, goals, it has a section for cardio, strength training, nutrition and it gives you "myth busters" and trivia questions. I really find it to be helpful and informative. I bought it at Borders.

Okay WISHers...feeling a little overwhelmed...
What's with a Garmin? Do I really need one? I can't seem to find info on the "search". I'm sure there is a pro/con thread somewhere.
I just read the training advice thread and feel a little better. Stop thinking about Jan event and all 42km and start thinking week by week, right?
Weather was crap yesterday so I didn't go out. Feeling a wee bit guilty. I just want to get out and run. Scared how big this commitment really is...logs, route, training intervals, cross training, eating, drinking miles vs km ...my mind is spinning. :confused3
